My left flipper is sticking bad. game hasnt been played that much and I bought it new. Took it apart cleaned the coil sleeve and all other parts put it back together and it still sticks. Of course it works fine when I flip the Pf up. Ive seen both kits and complete assemblies sold for modern sterns... which is better? replace 1 side or both?

its pretty tight

Make sure you have a little play between the flipper bat and the bushing. You should be able to lift the bat up and down just a fraction.

Not the playfield, it may be too tight to the bushing:

Like LTG says.... check the coil stop. The rivet that holds the stop to the back plate tends to come loose and the coil will shift slightly as the plunger moves and the flipper binds as a result. Take the coil stop off of the game and verify it is stuck solidly to the backing plate it is attached to.

Yeah - Stern coil stops are kinda shit. The stop itself will work itself loose and while it will look ok, it will cause the flipper to stick intermittently. Try twisting the stop and if it turns, it's loose and needs replaced.

Look for metal shavings on the bottom of the cabinet underneath the left flipper. If you see these gold colored shavings, it is a telltale sign that the coil stop is defective.
