Quoted from SkyKing2301:

Finally finished up the Hardware Cleanup Kit! It uses a combination of black, gold, and red hardware to better match the art in the game. This one was trickier that Rush as far as the colors go, but thankfully MUCH simpler in quantity -- the Rush kit contains 245 parts, where this one only contains around 80. Everything's easily accessible too, so you don't have to extensively disassemble anything to complete this work.
Available in the shop here: https://pinside.com/pinball/market/shops/1282-rocket-city-pinball/07623-james-bond-007-hardware-cleanup-kit

Amazing how much difference something so subtle & simple can make -- even the screw on the peg in the back corner does wonders to clean it up!

Kit looks great, well done!

Interactive Illuminated DB5...and mirror blades from CoinTaker.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

I used Cointaker's mirror blades on my Godzilla and love them. But I put them in using screws and it was more of a pain than I expected. Did you screw yours on or did you use tape? If tape, which works best for these big stainless pieces?

#131 1 year ago
Quoted from Lermods:

I always use screws. I position the blades, hold them on with two hand spring clamps, drill a small pilot hole and install the screws. I only use screws at the front and back, not in the middle as it’s not needed. Very easy.

Maybe that's the part that confounded me a bit. I did the same clamp approach and had no issue getting them aligned, but by using three screws, it kinda over-constrains the mirror and the spacing has to be perfect or it buckles a little.

Anybody using a fun shooter rod? I started out thinking I wanted something with the Union Jack like on the 60th machine. My two leading candidates are this combo to play off the casino aspect of the Bond movies:

Or the Union Jack shooter plate with a gold shooter ball, thinking about Goldfinger. "First world problem" decisions!

Yeah, I saw those and had the same thought about the Martini olives. Hard pass for me so I'll probably try one of the other combos I mentioned.

Installed my new Pinstein translite in my Bond Prem tonight. Wasn't sure on color but seeing it in the machine it looks outstanding with the yellow molding and the DugFreez Type 13 speaker light kit with yellow surrounds. Love it!

Will take a couple pics tomorrow when there's better ambient light in the room. Overhead light in my office doesn't cut it.

Worked myself up a little 3D printed seizure warning cover this afternoon. Came out nice.

Nice! I did the same today, I just made the 007 letters stand proud. Black Tux for the coin door, white tux for the backbox. 2mm thick base with 2mm thick raised letters/gun.

The art blades look great - https://www.wizardmod.com/product-page/007-pinball-wizblades
I just got the alternate translight and was thinking about those art blades....just need to see if I want those or mirror blades.

You know, I really like mirrors and love them in my Godzilla, but those look fantastic. I think I'll order a set and give them a whirl.

Printing a 50% scale Walther PPK to put on that clear plastic at the top of the double ramp. I think it should be "just right" to be there but not block up the view.

#372 1 year ago

They do look cool. I just want one or two to drill a hole in the bottom of and put on top of that diverter mech behind the tank!

#380 1 year ago

I printed a 65% scale Walther PPK to put on the big clear plastic above the Henchman/Villain ramp. Should fit nicely in that space without blocking up much view of anything.

Will share a photo with it installed once I get a chance to get in there with some double-sided tape.

Yes, big orange THIS IS A TOY note in the box.

Looks pretty cool and not in the way. Glows nicely with a little backlight from the red beacon when it’s on. Not sure it’s a keeper project but we’ll see.

Quoted from Hayfarmer:

Might look better standing up?

Yeah, I might have to make up a little prop/stand for it to sit on so it’s at least angled up a bit? It printed quite nice, I was surprised. I printed it with a flat on the bottom so it should be easy to tweak its position with a separate piece. I tried it at 50% scale but it was a bit small.

Received the MezelMods Bird One rocket today. It looks fantastic. Yes, it's missing the seams for the nose to open - but it's got tons more detail on than the OEM rocket and I think it looks great. Easy install.

[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Ahhhh, I figured that poker chip shooter would look good in the game when I posted the question earlier. I like it! Does it work well?

#426 1 year ago
Quoted from pinballjah:

Stern really looked at cutting costs with this plastic. No image whatsoever? Any suggestions on what may look good here?
[quoted image]

I printed some 50% scale Wather PPK's when testing the print and one of those would work well in that spot I think. I'll put one there next time I have the glass off and snap a pic.

Edit: My bad, 50% is way too big to fit on the triangle. It would have to span the pop triangle to the outlane divider, so you'd need a spacer under the pop triangle side as the outlane divider is taller.

#427 1 year ago

Looks like there are some 1:6 scale Walther PPK's (with mag and/or suppressor) that might fit nicely on the pop triangle if someone wanted to do that. They're about 1" long without suppressor. A PPK and spare mag might look cool there. Or even a decal since it's backlit?

Quoted from John_I:

[quoted image]

Nice! Is that one of the action figure PPK's I mentioned above, or did you print that one, John?

#439 1 year ago
Quoted from John_I:

I printed it. It was a model on thingiverse, so not something I would sell. It does look perfect there. Looks better in person. Has a lot of detail, so when scaled down really small it looks very realistic.
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:368382/files

Ahh, ok! The remix of that file is the one I printed at 65% scale a few posts back and put up on the double ramp. Will have to see how my printer does at tiny size. I liked the full model as I could just sink it into the print bed by a millimeter or two to create a flat bottom surface while keeping all of the dimension of the print, the bore, and the other details that the remix added. Might not make any difference when it's that tiny but at 65% it looks awesome!

Quoted from John_I:

[quoted image]

I printed it with the ejection port side up, I really like it there as well. Good call. Made for a tiny print!

Quoted from SkyKing2301:

No reason I couldn't make it in whatever color you prefer! Thanks, more updates to follow.

After seeing your pics (I'd have to mock it up too, to know), I think this will look great in red that matches your back panel SPECTRE flasher. I'd orient the SPECTRE logo in line with that FRWL lane, or just make it parallel to the Villain ramp. Could probably work on some median angle between the Henchman and Villain ramps? Like you said, it's probably just a few more degrees clockwise. Looking at my machine with the flasher on, it seems like you could directly orient it the tip of the logo at the hex post.

Regardless, it's a nice mod and will look great in the game!

Just finished my custom shooter rod. the cap doesn't open to reveal a button but i am happy with it all the same.

This is really cool, well done! Did you use an actual shifter knob? Looks like it? The shift boot is a really cool touch.

Quoted from Had:

I added headlights to the db5 and 007 flipper decals.
I couldn't figure out how to wire them up to the RGB LED on the board (the shot leading to the db5) so for now they are wired to a GI bulb.
[quoted image]

The headlights look great! Nice job.

Designed and printed this base that sits on top of the upper diverter. I didn't like that mech, was just kind of ugly and wanted to do something to cover it up. The base has a larger hole to clear the nut and washer on top of the diverter, and then two holes so you can screw the Eaglemoss 1:43 Moon Buggy from Diamonds Are Forever onto it.

I don't usually like too much stuff cluttering up the playfield, but I do like this much more than looking at that big silver diverter and nut.

This is the 1:43 moon buggy: https://www.fabgearusa.com/james-bond-1-43-moon-buggy-diamonds-are-forever/

I uploaded my design for the base to mount the 1:43 Moon Buggy (Diamonds Are Forever) from Eaglemoss on top of the upper diverter to help hide the mech. Please feel free to print one for yourself if you like it.
