Quoted from DerGoetz:Got a question for you guys.
When Scott started to show TA around we all lost our mind over how cool it was, that is how I learned about the pins existence in the first place. I do not get to go to shows but those of you who did, you came back to Pinside and shared with the rest of us just how killer TA shot. And that was in whitewood state. EVERYONE down to Stern employees wanted to see this pin in production.
I read on other homebrews, Doom for example. Read the feedback and about the excitement.
Now about Archer. There are many Youtube videos etc. Hence the game must have been doing shows etc for a while.
But what about the game? I never read on here about it being a killer whitewood, there never seemed to be hype? And that has me concerned.
What does that mean for IronMaiden? Right now I am really cold on it as it may be Book of Souls and a homebrew design that I have yet to read anything enthusiastic about?
Please share, right now I know next to nothing about Archer and the Youtube videos did nothing for me.
Archer didn't do the show circuit the same way TNA did, which was at some big ones, including Expo back when it was a more relevant show.
I don't know if Archer made it anywhere but the Banning Arcade Expo, which is where I played it. The layout is awesome. I hope it survives in some form as a new Stern game.
Also, keep in mind that the TNA whitewood was a pretty polished and functional game when it was building hype. Raw, but very playable. Archer was still in duct-taped-ramps mode when I played it, not sure what happened after that.
Quoted from lordloss:Did rufer lie to pinside again about the iron maiden reveal?
Only 12:50 In Chicago.

10:50 AM in Las Vegas at that time.
I don’t know anything but it sure seems like we’d have found out by now! Looks like random Facebook announcement on this one?

Pictures of the booth in Vegas are up. Doesn't look like anything new.
Quoted from Edenecho:So next possibility is TPF in mid march?
Quoted from TheLaw:Probably the code wasn't done.
So next January?
Quoted from Guinnesstime:So next January?
Perhaps a bad term...probably the code didn't work and was a shit show.
I think i remember when GB was supposed to drop new code and they boned it up and had to push it back.
Quoted from TheLaw:Probably the code wasn't done.
That's never stopped stern before.

No, just messing! I'd say they wouldn't dare release something without SOMEWHAT mature code again, but never say never, right?
Quoted from Guinnesstime:I'd say they wouldn't dare release something without SOMEWHAT mature code again...
Oh I wouldn't say that in anyway. It has never completely stopped happening, people here just keep telling themselves it could never happen again and then they are amazed when it does.
Rinse, repeat.
Quoted from Edenecho:Also it might be that they never intended to show anything now
I find that hard to believe. So many Pinsiders wrong aboot something?
Quoted from mnpinball:Expect something by Feb 28th for the Amusement Expo International show in Vegas. Announcement of a new title etc...

Where is said machine?
Stern will have whatever their next game is at TPF. Too big to show up empty handed.
IIRC, Ghostbusters was supposed to be announced right before TPF '16, but that magazine leaked a few weeks early, so Stern announced it in February.
Quoted from Sinestro:Too big to show up empty handed.
Stern showed absolutely zero new games at Chicago Pinball Expo. Was that show not large enough?

TPF blows Expo away.

I've waited this many years, couple weeks/months now doesn't matter. I'd rather a no-show than a rush to the finish line.
Maybe they're gonna unveil it at Louisville.
As you can see all MNPinball stated was an "announcement"...Gary is in Vegas and hasn't even removed the gin bottles from his bed yet.
Quoted from Sinestro:TPF blows Expo away.
I definitely will not argue that point. Still TPF and Chicago Expo are the main places Stern has made most other announcements.

Expo was a head scratcher....GOTG must have just slipped being ready....maybe they didn't want a repeat of Batman '66.
Still, I'd bet their new game is at TPF. It's the biggest show.
Will be amazed if it slips later than TPF.
Stern can't let competitors get ahead with MBR and Alice Cooper debuting at TPF.
So, reveal in 2 weeks

Even if it is announced before TPF, it will be at TPF.

Many would say that GOTG was not ready to be released even to this date. Go Stern!!
Quoted from Chalkey:Dammit I got all excited when I saw 45 new replies to this thread. Now I'm part of the problem
Two weeks!
Quoted from Gryszzz:I'd rather a no-show than a rush
Anything would be better than Rush.
Not to contribute to the rumor mill, but I did hear somewhere, hell mighta been this thread, that this machine will be (lol) released with 1.0 code. Guarantee that's gonna slow things down...a lot.
See y'all at Chicago Expo!

So 2020 then?
Since nobody wants to post a pic, I'll spend this time asking aboot Keith, the rule maker at Stern? Does he have a last name?
edit now I see we are talking Keith Elwin but I didn't know he was considered a programmer. He seems more of a game designer to me.

Keith Elwin, the designer, has provided all the rules for this game. I don’t know that it makes him the “programmer”. Lyman or someone on the Stern software team would program the rules into the game.
