Quoted from Lemank:Recently I was lucky enough to snag a new Stern Godzilla pro. Man is this game amazing. Hats off to Keith Elwin and rest of the Stern crew on putting together his 4th hit game. The one thing that I am pleasantly surprised with is how much fun it is to play with Stern Insider Connect. It’s fun to gain achievements and awards throughout different games and track them. I find myself trying to earn the player points as much as I can.
Now that we are getting connected with our Stern insider kits, in the future do you think we could we play each other online like video games? Something like the PlayStation network but for Stern Pinball. You could link up with 1-3 other players online who have the same game you do and play virtually. I think it would be fun to link up and play a 4 player game with people from all over the world.
Countless threads on this, but playing online is a cluster in reality. You’re just going to stand alone in your game room while 3 other randos in the universe play their turns on their games that are set up differently with different settings (physical like outlane posts, tilt bobs, and pitches, and software like code and settings)?
Also, do you expect that everyone has the same edition? So you’re playing GZ Pro. Do you only get to play against other Pro owners? Because with the backups and whatnot, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were maybe only 1000 Pros in the wild… many on location. So of the remaining HUO games that exist, who else is playing at your same time and wanting to play live (and wait for you to finish play)? Also they need to be roughly in your same time zone, have a good WiFi connection…etc.
Basically this isn’t Halo or Fortnite with millions of players at any given moment. This is a super finite audience with a game that suits itself for in-person play. Never mind that you can’t even see what they’re doing when you’d be waiting for your turn. Just a cluster all around. Go to a league or tourney if you want some 4-player competitive action.
