This isn't something they just conjured up in the past 6 months. It's been well known for several years this was coming.

I always liked the xbox achievement system. Burnout Paradise was maybe the only game where I ever finished all the achievements. I got gold cars as a reward. Oh, I think I finished Crackdown too... Orb Hunter was a great achievement to earn.

Well, I certainly had a lot of fun with the challenges. It added a whole new element to the online multiplayer. It was more co-op than PvP. Everyone had to complete the same challenge and we would all be rooting for the player who just kept missing the jump (or whatever). Finally they would get it and then we all race off to the next challenge!

The reason is that it allows players the opportunity to use connected services without a phone.

I was just thinking tonight and wondered if some games need to be 'fixed' in ordered to give players a good connected experience. BM66 has a considerable issue with unbalanced scoring because of how two of the minor villains work in the game. I know I don't want to see trillion point scores on the leaderboards or people getting triple digit bonus multiplier achievements.
