that hasn't been released yet, but i would assume that you will need an update once you connect the wifi dongle and or the qr reader. it is probably an update to the backend OS and will be universal across the games. the achievements will most likely be a seperate update(s) as the achievements are created.
i am not into modding / craft making, but is there any "decal" material that is see through? could someone make a decal that covers the scanner, but still allows functionality for home use?

yeah, i have an open network in my shop and i had to use my wifi hotspot on my phone to update a godzilla for a customer.
seems a bit strange actually.

are you giving the machine enough time to find and connect to the network? mine takes about 45-60 seconds after the game starts to connect.

Yeah, this is one of the reasons i am going to hardwire all my games (JJP and Stern). It will also lessen the amount of "noise" in the wi-fi sytem in the house. Probably not needed, but i am a little nerdy like that and have the abaility to do it.
