GBLE arrived 3weeks ago. So far no issues.

I called Stern regarding ghosting on my SMVE and spoke to tech support.

He indicated that ghosting is a known issue on some current run games. I was told management, engineers and suppliers are investigating the issue. I was asked to send an email and I would be included in a list of reported machines.

The solution/resolution to the issue is to be determined.

The requested information was: game model, serial number, manufacturing date, purchase date, distributor name and a description of the issue and with supporting pictures.

I received an email acknowledging the receipt of the information.

The email I was given to send the information was: [email protected]

best pin since TAF and they F*&cked it up.....

I haven't been this addicted to a pinball machine...ever. It's a truly special game. Sucks about the playfield issues.

I'll feel better when I get my hands on a quality spare playfield. Right now these issues have tainted the fun because I'm too nervous that every game is going to just make the problem worse.

My GBLE has no ghosting. The only other info I can provide is I turned my flippers to soft on day 1 because of the air balls so I see a lot less. No idea if the 2 are connected.

    so it's held?

    #59 7 years ago

I've played this thing at least 1,700-2,000 times in those four months, and yes it's held. Not gotten any worse.

I turned coils on soft too since day 1 (27/07), playfield is made 20/06. Also I put the scoops eject power very low. Still I'm having issues since day 2.
After 50 games played, 6 inserts ghosting and 2 inserts with ghosting are not level with the playfield anymore (they are a little lower, where the ghosting appeared)...
Very sad, it is the top piece of my collection and I can't miss it now that I've tasted it... really love the gameplay.

91 owners voted... Almost 50/50 still... Slight tilt toward "no ghosting".

A sample of 100 is fairly telling... And this doesn't even include "other" manufacturing issues. :-/

I think the crest inserts fall within reason, the lock is not pretty, but good to hear it hasn't gotten any worse. The worrisome pat to me is these new playfields that go from perfect to really bad in a matter of days in some cases.

    #63 7 years ago

Almost a sample size of 100... And if voting is truthful, then basically indication of 50% issue rate.

"i aint afraid of no ghost"....day 3 GBLE, no ghost

    #65 7 years ago

I don't think my early run GB Pro had any. I need to check my GOT and return back. I don't think I noticed any before, but mine & Chuck's came form the same batch

SMVE, 4 months old, 330 plays and the ghosting started on a lot of inserts...
Informed my distributor, he will send my pictures to Stern.
Will have to wait I guess... Hopefully not to long, I'd really like a new, quality PF.

So far my GBLE #255 has no ghosting yet. Fingers crossed...

Four month old SMVE with about 500 plays. I now have 23 ghosting inserts. More than when I previously posted pictures.

I sent of my second round of pictures to Stern for my file.

    I feel your pain.

I really hope that Stern will replace it for you!
Sorry if it's already been mentioned, but what is your playfield production date?

I will buy a SMVE huo with 200 games, there are 2 inserts with ghosting ... is what I have to buy it or not? Is this going to degrade?
