1) it's the lit lane on top of the bumpers (change with the flipper). I think it's a pretty lame skill shot but love the game.
2) I'm sure there is an option in the menu.

2) yes. You can control the up post in the loop and the one aft the center spinner. I'm not near my machine or I'd look it up for you. I believe it was in the game play settings, the same place where you can choose to deactivate the left and right spinner to activate monger.
