It doesn't look too bad to me. I'm looking forward to gameplay videos and a full reveal. This looks better than The Pin did. I'm not against home model pins as long as they are built well and fun, though the price seems high.

Quoted from Shapeshifter:

So, is this how the new display is going to look on all games going forward?

Gomez said a 15.1" screen for Batman, so I think so. I put my 14.something laptop on my pin for comparison sake and it looks about the size of what is pictured here. So I think this is slightly smaller than what will be in Batman but I bet the look is similar.

Layout looks interesting.

Yeah, the layout actually looks good. This might end up being a fun pin.

So why is SM VE $3800 more retail than this game. $3800!?

Coin doors are expensive!

Quoted from dmbjunky:

If it's like The Pin version 1, I don't think there's a floor in the cab.

From a safety / UL / legal to sell for home-use in the USA I bet there is a floor. It could just be a sheet of thin plastic but something has to cover the high voltage.

Quoted from dmbjunky:

What would be high voltage on the playfield?

What voltage does Stern use for for coils with Spike?

I looked it the relevant specification: UL considers anything under 60Vdc safe low voltage. However, the value used to be lower and my company, a electronics manufacturer, has always applied special isolation rules to anything over 42Vdc in order to pass UL/CE safety requirements.

Quoted from xTheBlackKnightx:

This uses the Spike system.
No interlock, no high voltage.

"high voltage" is relative here. What is the minimum voltage needed for a flipper coil? I've heard of 30V coils, but isn't 50V+ the norm?

Anyway, my point was this and The Pin before it has to enclosed for safety reasons so I fully expect this to have a bottom. It might not be made out of wood but there will be something there.

Quoted from xTheBlackKnightx:

There is an enclosure of the bottom of the cabinet, but predominantly for cabinet strength and keep out prying fingers of children crawling under games.
Any pinball owner should realize that even 50v is possible to severely shock, dependent on the running current amperage.
However, Stern Spike games were redesigned to prevent that aspect due to the higher of home owners not turning their games off for maintenance, or not following basic electrical safety precautions. Not just simplicity.

I don't understand what you are trying to say with respect to Spike. Stern Spike uses 48V for coils (I just looked it up in the KISS manual). Are you trying to say The Pin uses less than 48V?

Okay so safer because it isn't always on. Fair enough.

Back on topic:
When do we expect Stern to acknowledge this pin exists?
