I can post pics later, but just got a NIB Premium and I swear to god, this is the thinest clear coat I've seen on a Stern game since purchasing games in the last 10 years. Seriously, it's tough to even say there's clear on this game. I can feel all the artwork lines/grooves and inserts.
This game just came off the recent run. Am I alone here with this issue?
Quoted from manadams:They were putting on thicker coats before but people were complaining about golf ball size dimples.
Yep, well aware of this. And this is what we get b/c of the complainers.
People don't realize dimpling is not a huge deal. It will smooth over time. Dimpling is amplified when there's thick clear. Thick clear protects the paint.
Now we're in a scenario, b/c people complained, that these games will be down to the barewood (potentially) after high amounts of games.
(I posted this in the wrong thread, so positing here now)
Has anyone placed mylar by the magnet? It seems the force of the magnet could create accelerated wear in that area over time.
For that matter, anyone seen wear in that area that's had their game on location for some time?
Quoted from aalbertson3:I had the same issue on my premium that was delivered on Friday. It’s was all over the rails, glass and head. Ended up using isopropyl alcohol to clean it all up.
On a side note - how does your lockdown bar look? Mine was shipped with a bar that is obviously powder coated a different black. It is very glossy and the texture is easily twice as thick as normal. It stands out like a sore thumb.
I unboxed my game last week and my lockdown bar also looks bad as you described. Plus I had sticky stuff all over the side rails.
Oh yea, and my game wouldn't turn on.
I'm curious: at this point, is there anything major missing from the game? I noticed some monsters on the playfield that aren't in the early menu to fight. Are they just deeper in the game, or have they yet to be added?
Quoted from ExSquid:Yeah King Caeser is on the playfield , i would imagine he would be added?
There's two more monsters as well that I don't think I've seen in the game. One is on the scoop plastic and one I believe is towards the top right of the playfield. Sorry, not in front of my game now so doing from memory.
Quoted from Muymanwell:if you mean hedorah in the upper right, he's in the game. king caesar has a cameo, but no defined modes or anything
I don't mean him.
I'm confused and need help with the thing about "pressing both flippers for left inlane" (or however it is phrased) during the magna grab.
Per rules on Tilt Forum:
"Alternatively, time the release of the ball so that it enters the left spinner, and one of a series of Imposter Battle awards will be scored in the following order:
15M + Light Ally
20M + +1% Annihilation Bonus
30M + +1x Destruction Jackpot
250M (!)"
I struggle to see how it's physically possible for the ball to move so far left on it's own that it goes through the left spinner? Am I understanding correctly, that the game is saying if I press both flippers, somehow the ball could magically fall through that left spinner, from where the magnet was holding onto the ball?
How? What am I missing...
Quoted from Mattyk:Push the flippers when the ball is swinging on the magnet
I get the concept of hitting both flippers. But is the ball supposed to be swinging on the magnet? It just sits there for me on it.
Maybe this has been said before, so forgive me, but with GZ being a hit, it seems like it would be a great idea for Keith to do Kong next, no? I mean, there's so many people who would naturally be compelled to add that other monster game next to GZ. Plus, you'd think the license would be easy to get.
