I am waiting for my February Godzilla, however, I have a Mando Premium that I put PDI glass in, and boy was it tight taking off the old glass and slipping in the new.

Does anyone know about the February build for GZ? I am supposed to have one of the February allocations, but my dealer has not heard anything from Stern at this point. I don't know if they started shipping or will be going out later this month. Thanks
Big disappointment. Just got off with my dealer. He has assured me every week for the last 4 that I was going to get a February. He is fully paid. Now he says May or June. Ahhh.
Just had a long knock down drag out call with the dealer. At first I spoke to the owners son who said "well, I don't know why the owner told you February. Its up to Stern and we are now told May-June, but if you want you money back, no problem, we have others that will take you place." He then puts on the owner who says that the Factory has my money, and he will keep 10% because I am cancelling prior to the first week of April, which is when we have a written agreement that I would get a full refund if they don't deliver. I say, but you son just told me my delivery would not be until May June. Clearly this is after April, and he also said you have other buyers who would take my place so not problem. Owner says, "I am the owner, he is not, and he is wrong. Then he goes on to say "you are just too much trouble. I will give you a full refund." The then hangs up. Wow, what drama.
A guy in Chicago. I will not disclose until I get my money back. He is not a listed dealer on the Stern Site but said he is close to one of the big distributors in Illinois who supplies him with the games.
Great News. I just got my Premium yesterday and will be coming to Allentown. I will wait to see your kit in person before I purchase.
I have a question on the bridge hitting plastic fix. Do the washers go into the hole so in effect the stop that is already there is longer or do they go over the stop so there is a space between the coil and the metal bracket?
Start with one washer and move the bridge by hand to see if it hits the plastic. If it still hits, add one more and try again. You want the sweet spot between it not hitting the plastic but still allowing a ball to fall through the bridge when it is open/broken.
Thanks, very helpful, worked out great.
Quoted from king_pin:Hey everyone. lionelpo91 provided me with some feedback on my left Mechagodzilla sculpt. Seems the screw holes weren't deep enough to keep the metal plate below the original plastic. I have edited the model and made the screw holes deeper and posted to thangs. If anyone else has any other feedback, please let me know.
https://thangs.com/designer/king_pin/3d-model/Stern%20Godzilla%20Pinball%20Premium%20and%20LE%20Mechagodzilla%20Sculpt%20-%20Left-683478
Cheers.
LOL, I just had my son print the original and I painted it up yesterday. Back to the drawing board. In all seriousness, thanks Lionel for pointing out the problem, and than you king-pin for doing the original and this update.
I have a product that I bought 15 years or so ago that I use sparingly. Its called Diamond Bright. I don't know what the community thinks of it, or if in fact it is still sold, but it always worked well on my Williams/Bally games. It is a cleaner/polish.
I have a February 23 build and same for me. Shortened plastic but the bridge was slightly hitting and marked the plastic after 11 games or so. Two washers in the coil and all is good.
I was using 2 washers and I have not seen my bridge stay open. Just went to one. Will see if that makes a difference.
Just had a good game, 754,000,000 and the bridge did not stay open during the game. I think the bridge was hitting slightly so I may go back to two washers.
Quoted from Pinballpal:The bridge only stays open when you have super jackpot lit when playing bridge multiball and I think maybe one other time (I will have to check iepinballs stream) Try it with no washers with the glass off and light bridge super jack pot and your bridge should fall and stay open. Great effect when it happens. I only have one washer in mine and it might be enough to save the plastic if not I will just have to upgrade to the metal version of the plastic. That bridge effect is to cool to give up
I didn't realize this was only with the bridge super jack pot, which I do not believe I got during this game. Will try without the glass. I also don't understand why the amount of washers should affect the bridge staying open. As said above, the bridge should stay open if the coil stays energized unless I am totally off the mark on how the bridge opens. I had not thought this through.
Quoted from Pinballpal:That is exactly what I thought as well but after I found out their is not a switch their that tells the bridge that is down. The only thing I could think of is to remove the washers then it worked. I think the game does not hold the bridge down with washers because their is not enough of the metal arm in the coil to hold the bridge down.
Anyway try it without any washers and it will hold the bridge down and it is a great effect.
Just replace the plastic with a metal version if your plastic breaks.
I removed the washer, placed a Scotch Bumper on the magnetic spinner and everything works great. The bridge now stays open, and nothing hits the plastic.
I have all the ULEK protectors on mine. Very good solid protectors and the color tints work well with the game.
Quoted from Zanado:Hi, I just unpacked my Godzilla Premium and am concerned about the behaviour of the building. It goes up smoothly, but shudders when it goes down levels. Any suggestions to fix that, as I assume that’s not normal.
I received mine a couple of weeks ago and I do not have that issue. They did include in the goodie bag a small tube of lubricant. You can put a very light coat of lubricant on the two smooth rods under the playfield and this should fix the shuddering.
I will say that on mine, the bracket that holds the building under the playfield (it is rectangular and is is attached to a rubberized rectangular spacer) was loose. There are two philip head screws which were both loose. The top of the building was slightly hitting the bridge and lifting up slightly at that point. When I tightened the screws, this issue went away.
Quoted from cooked71:Just had it happen where did a super soft launch, ball went straight to that hang, and game didn’t go into ball search. Maybe a bug? But game should have known the all wasn’t in the shooter lane and should have gone into search, but didn’t.
You are right, it will not go into ball search under this scenario. I have used the cabinet bumper (1/2 round clear rubber) on the turntable and it works without jambing the mechanism.
Mecha fix (resized).jpgGo on stumblorpinball.com. He has a great video which shows him programming the sign and how to make adjustments to the lights.
Quoted from Bohdi:I don't see a video anywhere of him programming the sign? Have a link? maybe i'm looking in the wrong spot. I'd really like to know how to adjust better
https://stumblorpinball.com/products/gtn1
go to the middle of the three videos. Also, in the document section just below the videos there are written instructions on how to make adjustments.
Quoted from Mars2903:On day 3 of running the machine and I have a strange problem that I will get a video/audio recording of in a few days. After the game is completed, after baby godzilla blows a smoke ring I get a single super loud audio pop noise. It isn't every single time but I am sure I will be able to record it. I search this forum and there is a reference in the Bond group that a 'Digital Knocker' is a possible cause to a similar report. Anyone have advice on this? If so I will look for digital knocker in the menu.
Another question, I have the Godzilla Shooter Knob 'Egg' and it's very weak in launching the ball. If you don't pull it all the way back it will never enter the playing field. At a full pull back, it just enters the playing field 'lightly' and barely makes it to the left side of the playfield. Would appreciate advice on this as well. It feels like the original shooter knob's spring is tighter when I pull it back. Unfortunately I never tried the original to compare but this is much weaker than the commercial game experience.
With regard to the POP, that is a match of the numbers with the Baby Godzilla smoke. It tells you that you won a free game. It should only sound when the Baby Godzilla breath number matches the last two digits of your score.
Quoted from prentice:Try opening up the left ramp opening just a touch, there’s post in here describing how. It makes the left ramp more doable and somehow that has made me better at shooting it on the public league machine as well.
Just did this and it really made a difference. Much more smooth with less rattle which allows the ball to make up the ramp completely.
I have a question on a tweak. My saucer seems slightly out of line. The base looks like its right however, middle skirt seems to stick out towards the middle of the playfield. I can't see how I can realign this. I tried shifting the bracket under the playfield, but this really doesn't move much.
The problem here is the scoop shot. a forehand from the left flipper just hits this skirt and deflects. The margin of making the scoop is just so tight. Maybe that's the way it is supposed to be, but from my pic, you can see that everything does not stack up nicely.
Godzilla Saucer alighnemt (resized).jpgI always keep the older versions, however, in this case I only got my GZ in March and it came with 1.04. I only have the 1.05 that I downloaded and installed.
My son just went to Japan with some friends on vacation, visited the Godzilla museum and brought this back for me. Godzilla vs Samurai, LOL. He said the museum was really cool. Lots of movie props, figures, and even a zipline into Godzilla's mouth. He knew I was looking for something to keep the dust off the glass and this is just perfect.
Godzilla Cloth 1 (resized).jpgGodzilla Cloth 2 (resized).jpgNice haul. I have been put on wife's "no more pinball spending" list until at least the end of the year. Went a bit crazy with new Godzilla Premium and mods
earlier this year as well as doing a complete LED conversion including OCD board and color DMD screen (currently ongoing) on my STTNG. This was after getting my new Mando Premium and topper last year.
Quoted from Apinjunkie:Have more kids, you'll get more votes the next time this comes up.
LOL, out of the kid game at this point. Getting the Grandkids going. My 14 year old grandson loves Godzilla as does my 3 year old grandson. My 4 granddaughters prefer my AFM and MM.
Quoted from pinner11:Anyone interested in a set of speaker lights with acrylics from speaker lights.com. (Plastic canvas set, and foam backing as well). Just received so new in box but sold game.
I just PM'd
I must be an outlier. Did the update earlier today, just played, everything works as it should. I do not have the topper, so maybe the issues are with topper machines?
At first I did the washer fix but didn't like the way the bridge worked. Took the washer out, used a cabinet bumper and 500 games later, the plastic still looks like new.
I did the washers on the coil, but the bridge just didn't seem to move in the same way that it did. I undid that fix, used the cabinet door bumper and it solved the issue and also the bridge worked as it did prior to the coil washer change.
Quoted from Scotty_K:You can also place a cabinet door bumper where the bridge would hit the plastic if you don't want to fiddle with the coil and get the same results.
Quoted from acedanger:Plus one for Freddy skill shot optimizer shoots perfectly now!! Finally loool
Just got my Freddy's today and installed. Not a single bad plunge shot. What a difference. Freddy rocks.
Quoted from Bohdi:What exactly is Freddy's Pinside handle, and does he have a store? I need one of these.
https://www.shop.freddys-pinball-paradise.de/index.php?f=3&q=3475053479&lang=e&lnge=1
The only downside is cost. Came to around $80. The shipping from Germany was about the same price as the cost of the mod. IMHO, well worth it.
Quoted from french1canadian2:I just received my Freddy’s shooter lane fix and, as others have stated, it’s kind of filthy. The inside doesn’t look terrible but the outside has some kind of sticker and grime all over it.
I’m not the most handy guy, but what would you recommend using to clean this baby up?
As for installation, just remove the two screws holding the metal level plate, remove that piece of metal, and replace with the Freddy’s piece? Any other advice would be awesome.
Thanks!
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
I used rubbing alcohol on mine.
Quoted from PinDeadHead:So I lifted the hood for a moment and found this guy hiding, facing backwards, right in front of the GZ figure. I’ve owned this pin for two years and never noticed it.[quoted image]
Wow, I just looked at mine, really cool. Thanks for posting.
That's a good one. My grandson calls me Grandpa Godzilla (he calls his younger brother baby Godzilla). I am going to print a copy of this and it will be perfect for his room.
I have a premium, and its there; February 2023 build. There is an upright plastic on the edge of the playfield right in front of the big Godzilla.
A strange problem just popped up during game play.
Two things: 1. when in Ebirah is going, it starts with the left spinner at 15 as it should. Even though I don't shoot the left spinner at all it shows 0, and that I got all 15 spins.
Got pretty deep into the game, and all of a sudden the yellow LED which has the arrow up the right ramp for Gigan does not light (the left ramp does light). Also, the green tank lights on the right ramp as well as the middle loop also do not light.
I ran lamp diagnostics and the lamps light during the diagnostic.
Any clues as to what to try?
Thanks
Yes, regular mode. had over 1 billion and was going good. Activated Gigan in London and the lights just didn't come on. When I went up the right ramp I actually got credit for the Gigan award, but no lights on the playfield. Later I had a tank attack, but again, those particular lights at the bottom of the right ramp as well as the one just to the left of it didn't come on.
Turned off the game last night, this morning, played and had not issues with the lights. I will report to Stern, as you said, may be a software bug.
Also, you are right on the Ebirah, I must have had a Wallop and it just didn't register in my mind at the time.
Did you use the Pinball Life balls? I am ordering new stops from them and wanted to bundle to save shipping, but didn't know how there balls were.
Yep, happy Birthday Godzilla.
On November 3, 1954...
...Godzilla opened in theaters; director Ishirō Honda and special effects master Eiji Tsuburaya's vision for movie monsters changed cinema forever.
I just love the frame. It adds so much in my opinion and really ties in the Xilian vibe. A shout out to Mezel Mods for creating a unique mod.
I have no problem doing the cradle, I use that all the time on Mandalorian, however, find when i try for the scoop using the cradle, I always hit the saucer first and it just misses going into the scoop. Backhanding the Mecha ramp is much easier and usually not a problem.
Quoted from gnocchi_pesto:Do people usually adjust the outlane posts?
The left one is drainy like crazy.. But my ego wants to leave it as is
The outlane posts and having the game 5 balls instead of 3 are my only two changes from stock settings. I have 10 family players from my 3 1/2 year old grandson to myself who regularly play, and while I am the better player in the family I want everyone to have fun, and these two changes allow them all to play longer more satisfying and deep games.
I currently have five games, 3 oldies and two new Sterns, and my wife has kicked me in the nuts. Ouch
In the items detail, More Information:
Dimensions: Height 20CM, Width: 16CM, Length: 50CM
Power supply method: USB socket power supply, the base is made of natural logs, which is environmentally friendly and harmless.
Purely handmade, this is definitely the best gift for monster fans
Quoted from mjenison:Hi all,
Just joined the club. My experience so far with my first NIB purchase of a pinball:Decided to lift the playfield to checkout the connections in the cabinet. I just assumed the playfield slide mechanism was similar to Williams so gave the playfield a good jerk expecting it to lock in so I could rotate it up, but instead nearly pulled the playfield out of the cabinet and it came crashing down on the lockbar area. Fortunately, doesn't appear anything was broken, regardless of the crunching sound I heard. What a terrible playfield slide setup.
No luck there, still not working. Decided to check the backbox next. Seems there are two CAT5 cables coming from the bottom of the circuit board. Reseating the one on the left suddenly brought everything back to life.
Also had this experience. I have Williams/Bally for the 1990's, got my first NIB Stern, pulled the playfield exactly as you did, and did my heart drop as the playfield dropped. Luckily nothing was broken or damaged. They should put a warning label on these machines.
My biggest problem with getting all 12 badges is that we are going away for 3 days after Christmas to visit kids/grandkids. I have no idea of arcades where we are going, and if they have a Godzilla I can log into.
Problem is that in Southern Delaware, all arcades close for the winter. I don't think I can go anywhere and find an operating game. If I come up short, I come up short. That is just the way it is.
Quoted from awesome1:Definitely turn down the backbox brightness during play, but anti-glare does more than just reduce the backbox glare. I usually play in a fairly well lit environment and especially with white ceilings, the glass makes a huge difference on playfield clarity.
This is also one of my top mods.
Especially when you are paying good money for other Mods. Good anti-glare glass allows you to see all the details of your mods as if there is no glass. Prior to getting my GZ, I never used anti-glare glass, but I now have it on all my games. What a difference.
Quoted from Dalinar:To add one additional method for those interested I have found using Rapid TAC makes it super easy as you can spray the sticky side and move it around all you want until it dries.
https://www.amazon.com/RAPID-Application-Decals-Stickers-Sprayer/dp/B006RMC8J6/ref=sr_1_5
I used Rapid TAC when I but my blades on and it works great. Able to get it aligned perfectly, no wrinkles of bubbles.
Quoted from HighVoltage:I intended to release this shortly after my other Godzilla DMCS mods but then got distracted developing the Foo Fighters DMCS Save Post. I finally got back to this and am releasing it now.
This is the Godzilla DMCS Backbox Light Kit with animated and interactive effects. It lets you choose the attract and gameplay modes independently. In this demo the attract mode is set to "Animated Attract Sequence" and the game mode is set to "Dim with Interactive Effects". There are other modes to choose from such as "Dim Static" or "Bright Static". There are at least 9 in game effects triggered by play events, including rising flames, and streaming heatray (which I forgot to activate but it's similar to the one shown in the attract mode at the start).
More details in the GZ DMCS mods thread if you want to get in on the January special:
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/godzilla-dmcs-mods-xilien-saucer-heatray-diverter-burning-building#post-7297735
I assume this is for the Pro only?
Was installing a mod today and found a black allen head screw with a washer in the bottom of the cabinet. I looked around the underside of the playfield and saw that the coil assembly for the flippers attachs to the bracket with these screws. On my left flipper, one screw was missing (ah hah), and the other was loose. I put the screw back in, tightened both, also tightened the allen screws on the other flipper brackets. The upper flipper screws were tight, but the right flipper screws took a good half turn. Just a heads up to you all to check these allen screws when you have your playfield flipped up.
Quoted from Sirgubster9:Brand new godzilla man here! Atleast pretty close to brand new and I have a question about the bridge. When it says bridge has been completely destroyed and the bridge goes all up and down and buckwild at the end should it be staying broken or should it be going back to normal? I feel like it should be staying broken but my bridge always ends all the craziness with being whole again. Let me know and how I might be able to change setting or fix that issue if it is wrong.
That is how it works. There is a point where it will stay down for a bit, however, it always return to the up right position. There is no setting to have it stay down.
The bridge only stays open when you have super jackpot lit when playing bridge multiball. This allows the ball to fall off the bridge.
Quoted from WestCoastAussie:Hi all.
Just a heads up re a re-released mod. Mezel Mods have got the Godzilla "alien console surround" for the screen in stock again finally. I remember a post with someone questioning its availability, so I thought I'd let everyone here know.
They also have the side art blade playfield protectors in stock too. A lot of other places are out of them.[quoted image]
I have the Alien Surround Console. It is a great addition.
Quoted from tscottn:My guy used to have a inni now he has an outie. Anyone ever have this happen?
[quoted image]
I had this happen. There is a small screw on his back which came loose. It needs to be screwed back in. I believe when mine happened I found it under the playfield in the cabinet. Use a small dab of locktite on the screw to stop it from happening again.
You will need to push the outie all the way in and hold it tight as you screw in. It wasn't too difficult.
