New pin comes out. People get all giggly over it and want to pet it and make it theirs. Oh my precious you are the best. Then 6 months later it falls into line with the rest of them. Good game, probably, so are most games on the top 100. Lots of good pinball out there. To call one the “best” is silly.
Quoted from iceman44:Unboxed my LE today.
Holy crap.
Elwin and team are genius.
Didn’t want to believe it but best Stern ever? I don’t know. So many to choose from but this one is right up there
My precious. *stroke *stroke *pet *pet. My precious. You are the best ever my precious. 6 months later, some new precious. LMAO
But yes, awesome game
Quoted from iceman44:Damaged what? The box?
You accepted delivery
If you refuse to sign and write on the BOL that it was damaged you are good. Done it before.
I’ve also refused delivery before. Depends on level of damage. Dialed-in, glass was shattered and cabinet was broken. He loaded that one back on the truck.
Quoted from iceman44:What’s the actual issue with the game?
Do you know?
Too much crunchy peanut butter!
Quoted from BallyKISS1978:So much for sterns QC. Sucks the cpu was bad right from the start. At least you could swap in another one.
Something likely jiggled lose in shipping but worked fine at Stern. It happens.
Quoted from Medic:So my LE will be arriving in the next few days. I’m a little nervous there might be damage on it. Do you guys open up the game and check everything before you sign the paperwork? Does the driver usually care if he waits an extra 5-10 min while you check? For those that have damages did you simply not check before signing for it? Thanks
I always open and inspect. Driver is usually good about it. They sorta dont have any choice if you aint gonna sign till you open it. I tip 20 bucks if they help me get it up the driveway and are patient will i cut the side open and look at it.
Quoted from chickenscratch:Damn disappointing… my Godzilla LE showed up today, but it was GnR LE instead. Thought delivery guy was joking, but nope. Not even same pin manufacturer… not sure how distro screws that up.
Sure there isnt a box inside a box? other reports of distro's putting a second box to protect them better
Quoted from chickenscratch:I had read about that and wondered myself. I called Automated and they said to refuse, someone screwed up.
oopsies
Quoted from iceman44:Put some crunchy peanut butter on it!
Loving this game so far! I like how Keith comes up with fun exciting new shots. The way the ball whips around on this game is a lot of fun.
My friend Scott and I played the snot out of my premium today and had a blast! Looking forward to seeing where the code goes.
Quoted from galaxian:What's up with pricing on these? My last stern preimum I purchased was $1000 or so below MSRP aka stern street price. But I reached out to a distributor to get in on a preimum and they are only selling MSRP + shipping. Did stern get rid of the street price program or is the distributor profiting the discount?
Someone has been living under a rock
My mom cant stand the noise and she monkey flips. So hearing about a mom ordering a game is super awesome!
Quoted from Muymanwell:generally, 6.5 is the default, but a lot of experience folks set there's for 6.75-6.8. mine was perfectly 6.5 from the factory, and works well for me
How can it be 6.5 from the factory? You have to put the legs on and level it and stuff……..
Quoted from Muymanwell:i meant once the legs were on. it actually was completely level, left-to-right, and was pitched to 6.5 perfectly once the legs were on, with no feet adjustments. I've never had that happen, ever.
Oh! Lucky ducky for sure
I love this game so much! Looking forward to loading the new code and switching out the rubber with Titan’s. Such a fun game!
Quoted from TaylorVA:Godzilla bank/train mod installed and powered up.
[quoted image][quoted image]
That looks awesome!
Quoted from BallyKISS1978:That’s it?!!! Hardly any there. What did you replace them with? I have some clear pinball life ones I may use.
Titans of course! The best rubber replacement in the world! I run them on all my pins
Quoted from mbl1116:Joining the club with a premium tomorrow. There are 100 pages here so I apologize for the inevitable repeat, but I'm wondering what, if anything needs to be addressed right after unboxing?
For example, Mandalorian had ball guide and diverter issues from the jump. People had recommended the flipper power be turned down from factory settings, etc
Thanks!
Nothing! Rock Solid. Plug it in and flip! YAY
Quoted from PinMonk:Maybe the flipper switch blades on the cabinet are gapped wider on one side or the other, so there's a minute delay between the left and right activating? Look at them or measure with a caliper and try to get them gapped the same. Maybe that's what you're feeling.
Where’s that magnet cooler kit? I have my cart full of product just waiting to add that!
Quoted from Allibaster:Stern should be ashamed with the speakers they put in the Premium. Half decent speakers aren’t that expensive.
[quoted image]
Yep! First thing I do is always upgrade my premiums to the same speakers they put in the LE’s
Quoted from PinMonk:Okay, it's up on pinmonk.com. Pinside next.
Also from now until the end of the year I'm putting a pinmonk (L or XL) Cotton T-shirt in each order over $200.
EDIT: Now it's up in the Pinmonk store here on Pinside, too. Same unadvertised T-Shirt bonus until year end with either store.
Thank you sir! Order placed!
Quoted from CaptainNeo:except it doesn't eliminate DMD or BB glare.
This is unneeded expense. The new games you can just turn the BB brightness down to 10% during gameplay, and on older games, I just pull all the bulbs except 5 to 7 of them. reduces glare by 87%.
It does greatly cut down on DMD and BB glare. PDI is awesome!
Quoted from HurryUpPinball:I created an install video and at the 20 sec mark, you can see the difference between the factory plastics and the building mod. Let me know if you have any other questions and I hope all is well.
Received mine yesterday and I highly recommend it. Very professionally done and takes care of the SDTM issue.
Quoted from HurryUpPinball:After spending the last 3 weeks cranking out SDTM fix building mods, I just realized I still have the first prototype on my machine. Now that I have a decent inventory built up and ready to ship, it seems like a good time to upgrade my prototype. Maybe some custom colors or lettering. Maybe a tribute to 1955 on the helipad. I messed around and built a simple sign based on Japanese road signs with a tribute to the year GZ was released.
If you are having the SDTM issue on your machine, I have about 20 on hand and ready to be shipped.

Installed my SDTM fix yesterday and its perfect! Highly recommend. Odd Stern didn’t do this from the factory.
Quoted from sk8ball:You'll find out why the first time you one-time it into the building or to one of the exposed ramp exits upon ball drop
WTF you talking about. LOL
Well whatever. I love this game, awesome! And I think the roof mod makes a lot of sense AND looks awesome. To each their own.
Quoted from TheOriginalWiz:Preimum or LE? My premium didn't come with any but I seems to remember (but can't find the post) that it might have been included with the LEs for the shaker motor to keep it from sqeeking. Although, I could be totally wrong on that.
My premium came with it
Ran into a weird bug today. Had 2 balls locked on the roof. Started Train Loops. Then shot the building for ball 3 locked. The building raised up to the top and released ball 3 below then launched 2 new balls for Godzilla multiball and left the 2 balls on the roof. Later in the game when I started a new round of locks it seemed to remember there were 2 balls already up there.
Those 2 playfields look fine to me. Can't always eliminate wood grain. I certainly would take this over pooling and chipping.
Quoted from gambit3113:So close to 2 bil…
[quoted image]
Wow! Awesome score. I installed the code today and played 2 games. Couldn’t hit anything right, kept missing the ramps. Didn’t have the perfect combination of Mountain Dew and mozzarella today I guess
Quoted from IdahoRealtor:Do these new Sterns with QR scanners require an internet connection, or can owner simply play it offline and ignore the feature?
You're missing out on a lot of fun if you don't enable it though!
You’ll want the carbon steel since both games have magnets
