Instead of spending the $200.00, made my own out of a wooden egg and a little paint, blank shooter rod, and coated 3 times in 2 part epoxy....smooth as glass and has a nice weight and feel to it. Best thing is when I get my game and if I don't like it I can remove it....cost less than $25.00 to make.

Quoted from Gotfrogs:

Anyone else disappointed in their upgraded shooter rod? I got mine today and am really disappointed. It is not even smooth to the touch. There is a visible and raised seam that feels strange and the overall texture seems really cheap. It looks ok from far away but not up close. For $195 I expected something way nicer (like the ones for Jurassic park or Elvira).[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

I would recommend 2 part epoxy. I did that with the egg I made myself and it's smooth as glass.

Don't think I would spray it with anything. 2pac would be too expensive and a waste.

Quoted from beltking:

How would one clear coat the egg shooter rod in gloss? Do a clear coat spray can or two part mix epoxy? Brands that are the best?

Looking for suggestions on powering mods for Godzilla. I've seen several solutions but being my first nib game I'm not wanting to damage any of the node boards. List of led mods I'll be running. Godzilla with lighted atomic breath, mechzilla with led lighted eyes, lermods Tesla mod, flaming frames, home made topper with burning building made with the insides of a flame bulb for home use lol. 20 inch led strip from comet pinball and two blue spotlights magnum bulbs. All except the flaming frames run off of standard 5-6.3 volts my worry is tying everything into the GI might be too much of a strain and damage something.

Should I go with the pinball life spike 2 separate power supply?

Thanks!

#9301 2 years ago

Hopefully so.....I had just read in one of the older posts that stern likes to run lean on their power distribution without a lot of extra left over for much of a draw....Leds shouldnt draw that much but wasnt sure If most of these mods tied into just the GI would be too much...I would rather buy a 50.00 separate power supply then be risking it. I never worried about these things with the old williams/bally or my spooky machines. No node boards to worry about

Quoted from Apinjunkie:

You should be just fine, installing all the mods mentioned. Just follow each one's installation instructions. There are a number of folks running all the ones you have mentioned, and more, without issues.

Fixing to recieve my NIB GZ. I need some feedback. How many of you installed a playfield protector on your game? This will be a home use game only.

Thanks for the feedback ☺️

Hey Chip, I'm still waiting on mine also, ordered February 4th checked on them through email a month later and got the chastised response for even checking. I haven't emailed again because he has a 3 emails your order is cancelled policy. Quickly coming up on 4 months of waiting. If I didn't think the mod was worth it I would have cancelled a while ago since I've never had a issue getting updates for mods from anyone else on pinside. Maybe if they are a pain to make and take time maybe he should offer a assemble yourself kit with all parts needed to reduce the wait time.

Quoted from ChipScott:

I know exactly the spot yet you're talking about, totally frustrating and I think it's a super common phenomena across all games and models... if the ball is not fast enough, the ball stops on that guide rail in the back and because it sits/rests so solidly back there on that metal guide, you really have to shake the machine to dislodge it and it's going to end up in a tilt.
I was thinking about some durable fixes for this a few weeks ago, but got distracted before I could try anything...I should probably revisit that issue. I too would love to hear if anyone has identified a durable fix for that problem.
On another note, it's now been a fairly long time waiting on my flaming speaker panels and the city cut out. I know that the maker of this item requested that we not reach out to check where we are in the queue, but it's now been several months (maybe more). Have others had to wait this long? Do you think I should try and reach out to him or should I continue to keep the faith that they will eventually arrive? Thanks

#10832 1 year ago

Yeah not a good idea. I've been waiting coming on 4 months and have already been chastised for not following the rules on his site.

Quoted from chuckwurt:

Never had that issue. My game is steep but not super steep. And the couple times it has stopped there, a tiny nudge frees it.
Definitely get with Doug and see on the lights if you haven’t heard anything in months.
