Quoted from RikV:

So, about those magnets…thoughts on Ninja balls vs. carbon balls? Will the magnets in this game magnetize the chrome balls, hmmm? I hope not; magnets are not a problem on my AIQ or JP2, but WOZ, yes, need to run carbon balls there. Where do you think GZ will fall, carbon vs. chrome?

Whatever you do in WOZ. A lot of magnets in Godzilla

#95 2 years ago
Quoted from xyntec:

lots? I thought I only saw 2? One in the bashtoy and one in the captive eh... ball/tube?

Okay, just the 2, but I’d definitely do the carbon or whatever is in WOZ

Anyone get a leg with holes too small for the bolts? A friend just got their game and one leg had this issue. Weird one off.

If you shoot the shot to the left of the building and it comes out of the building is it supposed to go SDTM?

98B17257-E3CB-42B4-B2F5-2ABF72A437C0 (resized).jpeg98B17257-E3CB-42B4-B2F5-2ABF72A437C0 (resized).jpeg
#3373 2 years ago
Quoted from PinKopf:

Yeah, only occasional SDTM on that shot for me, but it can certainly be frustrating when it happens. Maybe 10-15% of the shots there? Definitely always dangerous though. I try to slap/slide save anytime I accidentally shoot it - don't know how actually effective I am at truly "saving" it vs would have caught a flipper anyway though...
With no real reward for shooting that shot generally (beyond the unadvertised double-super), its an oddity. I'm hoping that a code update does something more with that shot.

The lack of value is a reason I thought maybe it was a SDTM shot, happens almost every time on my game and it seems pretty level.

#3390 2 years ago

Update on the inner loop to SDTM; I f’d with side to side level and it is playing more forgiving, not 100%, but no longer rage inducing.

#3437 2 years ago
Quoted from El_Patron:

So I just set up my Premium, came 8.0. When I select software update it says it is up to date. What am I missing since .81 is the most current? Thanks

I updated mine using WiFi to .81. If you go into the WiFi setup it will offer you the chance to update.

Quoted from kcZ:

my inner loop is pretty consistently SDTM which I figure is by design... not much reason to shoot it and if you accidentally hit it then bam, ball over.

I felt like that may be designed for SDTM, but in checking for level again it did help with drains.

#3438 2 years ago
Quoted from Ty-Arnold:

I don't know what to think, who really knows. It's a rigged world we live in nowadays.

Have you talked to your distributor about why you aren’t getting one in the first batch?

#3480 2 years ago

I haven’t noticed any issue with flipper strength and I usually play for hours at a time.

#3502 2 years ago
Quoted from eyeamred2u:

Lucky
I noticed it immediately. Put a thermal probe next to the coils to measure and I was losing the battle with heat. This game is hard enough, not going to fight flipper fade.

So as soon as you start playing your coils are overheating? Sounds like something other than “flipper fade.”

#3548 2 years ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

Seems like more contrast is the way to go. I might try blue to tie in with the lane guides and the ocean/space/sky in the art. The orange on yellow bats kind of gets lost.

Light blue looks pretty good

Quoted from nighttaco:

So I put a deposit on a premium on 11/12, haven't really heard anything about timeframe for production, anyone have any info as to when to expect? I have heard anything from march to end of next year, thanks.

I’d ask your distributor, seems to be all over the place as to how allocation was handled.

Quoted from av1230:

First post! I just bought my Godzilla machine last week from Joystix games and I'm having an absolute blast. Does anyone have any tips for a beginner? I'm getting absolutely destroyed and only broke 100 mil once. thanks all! And happy to be part of the club. [quoted image]

When first starting a game I focus on ramps, you’ll qualify a kaiju battle, work towards destroying the building and start jet fighters. Complete jet fighters before starting a battle and you’ll be able to bring in an ally. Choose 2x defeat a monster and you’ll have around 200 million on ball 1.

#3835 2 years ago
Quoted from DVDA:

I never had the glass on but I emailed stern and waiting for a response. Never had a game (including JJP) that has been this tight and having a hard time lifting & lowering. Wonder if it's a warped cabinet but somethings definitely off.

Sounds like cab could be racked. Do you have a framing square?

#3851 2 years ago
Quoted from HoakyPoaky:

I'm interested to see how this particular protector works out above the magna-grab.
The clearances between the moving bridge & the magnet plastic are extremely tight. Owners should be looking at their games closely, because when the bridge opens, the metal frame of the bridge can make contact with that plastic. Repetitive hits will eventually cause that plastic to wear down & break. I'm really surprised they didn't include an extra magnet plastic, because of all the plastics in the game, I think it's the one that's most likely to break eventually.
The leading edge of that plastic "floats" above the magnet, so the only way to protect it is to add a protector underneath it. But this is going to raise the plastic a few millimeters, leading to more contact with the opening bridge.

Quoted from rai:

I was discussing with someone about Godzilla rules, it seems to me like there is a bit less to do in Godzilla than JP as far as numbers of modes and mini Wizard modes. (If you consider each paddock as a different mode).
There is plenty to do in Godzilla but overall it feels somewhat shallow when compared to some games like SW others, more like DP seems to me.
Do you agree?

Yes, but it’s only at .81. I think JP is one of the most refined codes as of late and it’s set the bar for what Elwin is capable of. Can’t imagine Godzilla getting less of a treatment.

#3980 2 years ago
Quoted from EaglePin:

If Godzilla multiball starts while the Ebirah battle is running, it seems like hitting the Mecha spinner becomes impossible because the targets turn to face the flipper instead of the spinner ramp. So unless you hit the Mecha spinner before starting GZ MB you can’t complete the battle (unless GZ MB ends while there’s still time left in the battle and the ramp faces the flipper again).
Is that what others are seeing happen also or am I missing something?

I’ve seen the same. I avoid MB if in that battle.

#3989 2 years ago
Quoted from tilt-master:

Loving GZ so far. Has anyone achieved an EB yet? I searched through the rules and didn’t see one.

Destroying 3 saucers will also award an EB, but personally Jet fighter is the most straightforward. I usually try to collect 6 out of the gate by ramping into a battle with an ally.

#4042 2 years ago
Quoted from chromag:

Check it out....it's the $25 (I think) bust bank from Amazon, see the coin slot.
Scale wise it seems to look better on the playfield with Mecha.
The look resembles the really expensive imports with attention to detail.
Had to cut a little more than an inch off the bottom and trim both arms to get him in there but he fits!
Might paint him green but kinda like him representing the b&w ish look of the old movies.....
[quoted image][quoted image]

Ordered one of these yesterday, definitely better scale than the factory one.

Wanted to share a mod I designed with the help of toyotaboy and callmesteam

I added a link at the bottom of this post to my IG account showing the flame effect in a video clip
-
Train car mod.

Each car uses 3 LEDs to create a fire effect. Train cars are 3D printed and sets of 4 are available for $20 shipped from toyotaboy Reach out to him instersted. (Just for the 3D printed parts, lighting and other parts are not included, JUST THE TRAIN CARS)

LEDs are from
https://evandesigns.com/products/fire-led-kit

I used the 3MM ones. 7E21D7DD-DCB3-4DEF-9C3E-F4A620D97D22 (resized).jpeg7E21D7DD-DCB3-4DEF-9C3E-F4A620D97D22 (resized).jpeg

You want to drill holes in the bottom of the cars and insert the LEDs. 72CD5467-B3AA-41BE-A4CE-EFB2CF7537BA (resized).jpeg72CD5467-B3AA-41BE-A4CE-EFB2CF7537BA (resized).jpeg

Using some cotton in the top of rhe cars will
Diffuse the lights and can give it a smoke effect if you pull some out of the windows.

I’m going to paint the bust this weekend and will be using the Train insert to trigger the lighting.

I have zero interest in selling this mod. It’s an easy DIY if you have one of the banks.

To clarify the above post, the $20 for the trains is just the 3D printed trains, all other parts are seperate.

Quoted from TheOriginalWiz:

This is a pretty specific and simple model for a pretty specific godzilla figure and it doen't include the lights. Any thoughts of just posting the STL for free out on thingyverse? I am pretty new to the pinball community but I am amazed at the lack of sharing of models and files for a community that is so DIY. I understand for the complicated models that took a ton of time to do should be cost but for these simplier ones, wouldnt we all be better off shareing and helping each other?

I don’t see why he wouldn’t share the files. It’s basically just $3 dollars a car + shipping. Doesn’t frankly seem worth his time.

What do most people charge for 3D design and printing?

And no offense, but I fucking shared exactly what I did to make the mod. I could just as easily made them and charged money for it. I’ve been in this hobby making shit for poeple for a long fucking time, to jump on my shit telling me how to help one another is a f’ing joke.

Trying to match the playfield art on this vinyl bank. Going to try to add some more black to try to make it less painterly.

#4781 2 years ago
Quoted from toyotaboy:

It is pretty a simple model, but it did take me quite a few hours to tweak to get them to print cleanly without thin walls on an FDM printer because they are so small. I upload files to thingiverse all the time for the sake of helping others out (much of which is pinball related):
https://www.thingiverse.com/toyotaboy02/designs
Let me make a few bucks to pay for my 3d modeling time and I'll happily upload this to thingiverse eventually. I'm not really "profiting", each car takes 45 minutes to print and I typically charge $5/hour to run any of my printers. The extra $5 is for shipping and handling

And Joe was only going to charge $14, I suggested he bump up the cost to cover materials for shipping and designing the cars.

I’m going to make a dedicated post once I have the mod finished to explain every step. Hope it’s helpful.

Some process pics of when we were designing the trains.

A small blue LED on the roof of his mouth to give his mouth a blue glow might look good. You could sync it with one of the appropriate inserts so it's not on all the time.

#4949 2 years ago

Playing .85 last night and found a bug and wondered if anyone has seen it.
-
In Tokyo ball one I defeated a kaiju and during same ball was awarded “light battle” as a maser cannon award. Battle was lit at scoop, but when shooting the scoop it would show part of the select battle animation, but would then just kick out
the ball without allowing selection.
-
This happened throughout the rest of the game, shot scoop 4-5x.

I’m going to try to recreate it today to see if it’s specific to the maser cannon award.

#4962 2 years ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

Another city yes, but not another mode. Have to change cities before you can battle again. Sounds like the game got confused when he got light battle and technically he couldn’t battle again in that city. Might be what makes that bug happen. Not sure.

This makes sense. I think the screen coming up made it seem more like a bug and not just something unavailable to play in current game state. A callout would be an easy fix IMO.

Quoted from CaptainNeo:

maybe synch it with the action button so when the heat ray is ready his mouth is ready

Quoted from Av8:

Played the Pro for an hour today. The code seems a unfinished. No clear objective or goals. The shot to left ramp is a bit too tight imo. The scoop shot is right on the end of the flipper. I finally started a mode in Toyko and brought in the Godzilla MB. Still never finished the mode. 4 left ramps and 4 right. Tough game to get going. Never did get Mechzilla Mode going even after hit that spinner multiple games.
The start screen should tell you what your trying to accomplish. Save cities? Destroy cities? Kill aliens. Tanks do what? The Ray does what? Am I Godzilla?
Avengers is a superior Keith Elwin game IMO.

Code is only at .85 and the upgrade from .81 was significant when the game hits 1.00 I expect a lot more clarity on objectives.

I have played this game a lot and a lot of the nuances are lost on me as I don’t care so much about scoring as I do progressing though the game and I find it confusing at
times as to what I should do.

I have played a lot of AIQ as well and the rules were much more about mode based play then Godzilla so I too find it easier to understand, not that the rule set is better, just different.

The the bank can be cut with a utility knife as well. I cut mine so it’s about as tight as it can fit under the glass. The fins are pretty easy to flex back and forth and remove by hand. I did cut out a spot so I could attach the plastic back to the playfield rail.

Pimped out NECA. Red spotlight lights up the neca godzilla toy's atomic blast on the top. Green LED strip on bridge's white rear support casts green on godzilla and further makes the atomic blast glow. Strip is tied into the spotlight so its interactive. Blue LED strip behind the blast tied into the bridge out sign. Looks better in person and I'm finally happy with replacing the cheap stock toy.

I used a photo switch board from Mezel Mods, designed and made by Roadrunner Pinball. Not sure if they are widely available yet. I’d hit up Mezel. You can see the sensor and board in this pic. Power is piggy backed off of GI and then the sensor is placed in under the insert you want to use as your trigger.

F’ing around with LEDs. This is a strip of 7, would probably just run when destruction JP was lit.
