Found a cool deal on the Mezco Destroy all Monsters box set.

Played around with trying to find places these might work on the playfield.

At 7" tall, King Ghidorah is really only clearing the glass in one spot. If you remove tail and legs.

Minilla is 2.75" and fits on the sling plastic without blocking the view.

Something is going on with my upper flipper. Maybe someone else here has experienced the same thing with their game.

Quick version: upper flipper stops working during play after the game is on a long time and many games are played. After the flipper dies during play, it will work when the next ball is in sitting in the shooter lane waiting to be plunged, but the flipper dies soon as ball is plunged.

Long version: Few weeks ago after the game being on all day and putting in a ton of games, the upper flipper stopped working. Checked all the usual stuff. Figured this is the thing where people say replace the sleeve and coil stop. So I shut the game off, farted around a while and switched out the sleeve and stop. I think the coil stop might have felt a bit magnetized? I did not change the plunger and link assembly. Game was off a long time while I replaced the parts.Turned it back on, played a game. Worked great. Thought it was fixed. Turned it off and went to bed.

Last weekend and this past weekend, after the game is on a few hours and after a bunch of plays, the upper flipper stops working.

Last night I realized that when the upper flipper stops working during play, it actually flips totally normal while a ball is sitting in the shooter lane waiting to be plunged. I can flip it a million times, but as soon as I plunge the ball, the upper flipper dies. If I hold the left flipper button in, the upper flipper drops and no longer works as soon as the ball is plunged. Manual plunge or action button plunge.

I also realized last night that ever since I got the game mid June, I've usually only had time for a game or 2 whenever I turn it on and never had a problem. This flipper issue has only occurred the 3 times I've been able to just keep hitting the start button and play a long time.

Turned the game on this morning and played a totally normal game. Flipper functioned fine.

Ideas?

I'm not seeing a hop till it hits flipper rubber.

I'd loosen the guide and play around with it as you roll the ball down the guide. I bet if you can tighten it in the right position you will get a smooth roll.

So you select Ebirah. Time runs out before you beat him. You shoot the scoop and it asks you if you want to rematch him. You select to rematch him.

Why does it then still show the screen where you would select your battle, and even have a call out to pick your battle? The decision has already been made.

Is there some reason for this I'm not understanding? I figured it was the kinda thing they would clean up by this update.

Even if its just a slight rattle the ball gets, it slows down the ball enough, so that you can't make the skillshot reliable.
That means, the "skill" in "skillshot gets replaced by "luck".
Anyway, I dont think Stern will do anything about this, but we have seen changes after the first release in the passt.
They could extend the metal on the right hand side down the shooter lane. This would be the best solution imo.
People didn't go too deep into this because they thought they just have to fine tune their shooter mech and sometimes the skillshot even works.
However, IMO it is a design flaw which really can be fixed with a piece of plastic.

Some Godzilla stuff arrived today. I have no plans to put any of this on my game, but I'm posting pics and measurements in case anyone is interested in doing so.

Godzilla vs. Hedorah 5 points XL from Mezco.

Includes final form Hedorah with 2 poison orbs, one eye beam with an eyelid.

Flying form Hedorah. 3.5" long, 3.5" wide, about 1.25" high.

4 tiny buildings.

Next time your upper flipper stops working mid game, let the ball drain and see if the upper flipper works while the next ball is just sitting in the shooter lane waiting to be plunged. Mine will work while the ball is sitting there and immediately die once the ball is plunged and hits the shooter lane switch.

I've been back and forth with Stern support pretty much since I got my game. They were very helpful with suggestions. Wire looked to them like it might not be pushed in all the way on a node board connector, but that was not the problem.

Last communication I had with them, they had me convinced it was the switches at the flipper button. That is not the problem.

The only solution that seems to work for me is power the game off long enough to lift the pf and not see a problem anywhere. Turn it back on and the game works fine again.

Please let me know if this seems like what is going on with your game and if you find a solution.

Mothra and the Shobijin twins 5 points XL from Mezco just released.

Twins are 3.75" tall.
Mothra has a wingspan just under 9" if you unfold them all the way.

I installed the ABE FLIPS shooter lane fix from Lermods.

Pretty crazy how that fixed my issue. It's like a new game.

Highly recommend the mod if you're having issues.
