Quoted from TaylorVA:

Wanted to share a mod I designed with the help of toyotaboy and callmesteam
-
Train car mod.
[quoted image]
-
Each car uses 3 LEDs to create a fire effect. Train cars are 3D printed and sets of 4 are available for $20 shipped from toyotaboy Reach out to him instersted.
LEDs are from
https://evandesigns.com/products/fire-led-kit
I used the 3MM ones. [quoted image]
You want to drill holes in the bottom of the cars and insert the LEDs. [quoted image]
Using some cotton in the top of rhe cars will
Diffuse the lights and can give it a smoke effect if you pull some out of the windows.
[quoted image]
[quoted image]
Made this custom mounting plastic. I extended the original one to utilize the post by the building. [quoted image]
I’m going to paint the bust this weekend and will be using the Train insert to trigger the lighting.
I have zero interest in selling this mod. It’s an easy DIY if you have one of the banks.

cool way to kill time when the weather is too cold for making rails? Always a busy man

I f’d up my back running so standing hunched over making rails has been brutal.

Sitting and making this has been a needed break.

Quoted from PinMonk:

How are you leveling left to right? Very small adjustments can affect this. Try turning your left leg leveler (raising it) a quarter turn, test, repeat until the drop works as expected.
Also, a secondary consideration is what's your pitch and how are you measuring it?

I’m at 6.9 and perfectly levelled (by phone app) on the bottom half but that’s a great idea to raise that leveler a smidge. Makes sense that a magnet drop up there would be super sensitive to pitch and I’m in a basement with lots of pitch differences everywhere for drainage. Thanks for the idea. Will report back.

Phone app is often garbage results. You may not be where you think you are. Use a real level.

Quoted from CHIEF1893:

I placed an order with Cointaker immediately following the initial release of GZ. I wanted an LE but of course those were all spoken for. I was happy to be 3rd on the list (1st run) for a premium. Today I learned I won't see my game until March? This is straight from the distro. I understand there are parts shortages everywhere but being 3rd on the 1st run its hard to believe a large distro like cointaker only received 3 premiums.... anyways I love this hobby but dang!

Sounds fishy Chief. You being a sailor should be able to spot that. lol

#4756 2 years ago
Quoted from Chisox:

Anyone have any luck adjusting their magna-grab? I tried adjusting the position of the magnet under the playfield and also via the software menu and my magnet always drops from this position onto the top of the upper flipper. I assume you’re supposed to be able to drill the loops directly from a drop?
[quoted image]

Had the same issue. As noted by others, raise your left back leg a little or lower the right one. What you might find after doing this is balls finding their way into the right outlane a little more often so either lower the post in the outlane to close it up or do some nudging.

Had same issue - using Phone App. Found that phone app was not even close to correct ... and, it was off in the direction that makes that ball drop too far left
Where your magnet is holding the ball is the same spot as mine does, betting this is a leveling issue

I also placed an order on the day of the release for a Premium from Cointaker. Initially I was told to expect my game late October/November time frame. Once I started seeing more and more people on this thread getting their Premiums, some from Cointaker, I called and was told "sorry we won't have your game until March". A little frustrating as I keep seeing people getting their Premiums who say they ordered them in late October. What gives?

Anyway I've made peace with the fact that I won't get my machine until March. If I get it earlier, yay! If not that's ok. The bright side is that hopefully Stern will have addressed many of the issues a lot of folks have been reporting with their first run games.

Quoted from TaylorVA:

To clarify the above post, the $20 for the trains is just the 3D printed trains, all other parts are seperate.

This is a pretty specific and simple model for a pretty specific godzilla figure and it doen't include the lights. Any thoughts of just posting the STL for free out on thingyverse? I am pretty new to the pinball community but I am amazed at the lack of sharing of models and files for a community that is so DIY. I understand for the complicated models that took a ton of time to do should be cost but for these simplier ones, wouldnt we all be better off shareing and helping each other?

#4760 2 years ago

"Hey thanks for posting all of your work to be recreated for free, please tell the guy that printed the trains to give me his shit for free too"

I have had great results with the phone app PinGuy on my iPhone. You have to check calibration with a regular level and dial it in. It is as good as the person calibrating it I think……don’t just throw it on a flat surface and presume it’s level. Use paper under corners in layers and get it exactly level in all directions when you calibrate. I think most people expect phone apps to just work and they are not like that.

I’m a bit confused as to what the ohm setting should be for Godzilla LE. I hadn’t changed anything however, the settings that it came with seemed not to be what should be the default ones. Anyone know what it really should be? Thanks!

Just joined the club after finding an in Stock premium local to me yesterday. This is my first new Stern. Is anyone using any shooter lane protector and if so, what are you using that fits and looks good? I've used Cliffy's before. Also, where are people getting the power line mods from. Thanks!

I actually had been looking at it on their website for weeks. I just assumed it was a scam website based off of stories I've read here. Wrote up a blurb about everything in stock in their showroom here. https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/baltimore-pinball-distributor-w-showroom-royal-flush-amusements#post-6658557

Quoted from BallyKISS1978:

Not waiting on Stern. Ordered set from wizard mod. Doubt Sterns will be better. I didn’t care for the LE art blades.

Sterns aftermarket art blades are just the same as the Le art blades just a different color background... the LE has a brighter fire like background, And the widely available art blade that's still not on the market... has a blue clouds style background instead of a brighter sunset style background in their LE... I may go with mirror blades unless pingraffix comes out with an awesome mechagodzilla foil style blade!

I don’t see why he wouldn’t share the files. It’s basically just $3 dollars a car + shipping. Doesn’t frankly seem worth his time.

What do most people charge for 3D design and printing?

And no offense, but I fucking shared exactly what I did to make the mod. I could just as easily made them and charged money for it. I’ve been in this hobby making shit for poeple for a long fucking time, to jump on my shit telling me how to help one another is a f’ing joke.

It is pretty a simple model, but it did take me quite a few hours to tweak to get them to print cleanly without thin walls on an FDM printer because they are so small. I upload files to thingiverse all the time for the sake of helping others out (much of which is pinball related):
https://www.thingiverse.com/toyotaboy02/designs

Let me make a few bucks to pay for my 3d modeling time and I'll happily upload this to thingiverse eventually. I'm not really "profiting", each car takes 45 minutes to print and I typically charge $5/hour to run any of my printers. The extra $5 is for shipping and handling

Filament cost money, time is worth something. The argument of "it's not some giant 3d file" is absurd".
All these mod guys and hobbyist are doing what they love and enjoy and should absolutely make some money. Those that "choose" to put stuff out there for free make that choice, but stop with crapping on those who make a few bucks. Absurd.

And Joe was only going to charge $14, I suggested he bump up the cost to cover materials for shipping and designing the cars.

I’m going to make a dedicated post once I have the mod finished to explain every step. Hope it’s helpful.

For those still waiting on a premium, when I talked to the distributor I scored my premium from he said he was expecting the premium to go back on the line in March and in August of 2022 to fill existing orders. I get the idea if you ordered one today you might not get it until... 2023.

Hello everyone, I just received my GZ premium today. Playing a few game. I’m noticing my upper left flipper is pretty “soft”I’ve set it at 172 power in the flipper setting. Default is 160. My bottom left and right clippers were set at default 240 left/230 right. Curious if anyone has made any adjustments to the upper flipper coil adjustment and have had improvement, and if your bottom flipper were set balance or not. Thanks

It's not just Cointaker. I did the same with Flip N Out Pinball and originally thought I was in first release, but then got bumped to March... hopefully not later. I've bought a few games from them now and ZMeny explained everything to me and I trust him. Things are out of the distributors control unfortunately.

It is a little frustrating seeing everyone else get theirs and still having to wait...

I was up 20 on each flipper early on, now I am back to default settings on all flippers. Game is at 6.9 pitch, and I seeing much better gameplay. I was noticing soft flippers the higher I went. I am using Titan low bounce flipper rubbers.
