Quoted from BallyKISS1978:

Finally unboxed the CY universal topper. The packaging was phenomenal. Very secured and protected. Quality is outstanding. Going to install it now.
Well worth the money. Even by itself and not a topper I would definitely hang this on my wall. Here is video of it. Comes with a very long cord. Only thing I would change would be to make the cord a regular USB vs USB C so could plug into usb port on the board.
CY Universal Godzilla pinball topper

Now to install it.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

I couldn’t get the usb-a in the backbox to power a similar topper. I plugged it in, would touch that on/off/dimmer switch on the topper cord, and it would flicker on once. And repeat.
So, I plugged into a usb power block and installed into the service outlet.

Does the top center of the UFO light up, or permanently red?

That’s what I was afraid of. That’s a bummer. The UFO is permanently red.

Quoted from M-Pinball-G-A:

Looks great. How does your GZ70th play? Does it flow well? Are you having issues with anything during gameplay? Did you set your pitch at 6.5?

I haven’t had any issues. It flows great! I prefer it much better than the pro I had. I was totally wrong about the pro being better.

I have the leg levelers screwed all the way in and the bubble on the leveler is centered. I can’t recall what degree that is.

#28705 28 days ago

I set mine up the same as the color premium.
Level right to left, 6.7° pitch.
Measured right in front of the building.

Quoted from imac12:

Can anybody share their settings for the flaming cities setup? I have them but I swear they're not as bright or vibrant as all the other ones I see. I've tried tweaking all of the settings but havent had much luck.

Where did you get it from?

I know there are some places selling Fire or "Destruction" light kits that have various adjustments (length, speed, direction), but no matter how you have these settings....the fire pattern just doesn't look any good. On those light kits, it's not a matter of controller settings, it's a matter of the light strips used and the controller itself. The only way to get a better-looking flaming light kit, is to pull that one out and get a better one from someone else. ...and hopefully learn a lesson about buying from that seller where you got the bad looking flames from.

I have nothing to hide when it comes to my Flaming' Frames light kits. They are the best-looking SPIKE 2 Speaker Light Kits there are when it comes to a natural looking flame effect. It also doesn't matter if you use a design to try to cover up the light frames or not, they look great either with or without. Having said that....doing the best looking natural looking flames is all they do. My "Flamin' Frames" controllers have no setting to tweak or adjustments at all. You turn on your game...and there is the flame.

However, if a person is looking for something other than a natural looking flame pattern, my Deluxe (type 12) Speaker Light Kit has 358 different color / color pattern from a custom controller that is programmed to make them match perfectly with my speaker frames for only $75. Yes, 358 different lighting choices that can be easily selected with its wireless remote. You can even save your 8 favorites, for the controller to auto-cycle through. $75.

Everything at SpeakerLightKits.com is shipping in 0 - 3 days with $8.95 flat shipping on all order being delivered in the US...no matter the size of the order. All light kits developed, assembled and individually tested by me personally, in the USA.

Doug (SpeakerLightKits.com - Home of the original pinball Speaker Light Kits and the best, natural-looking SPIKE 2 Flaming Speaker Light Kits)

PS: My type 11, type 12, and type 14 Speaker Light Kits will all work with the Stern Expression speaker lights also installed. I have been selling Speaker Light Kits that can work with another speaker light in them for years.

These really are the best. One of the best mods by far among my many for this pin.

Yeah, ti just kept it red to stick with the red/black/white theme of the 70th. I have a blue version as well to stick with the original blue in the game. I tried to keep the mods as simple as possible.

No worries. When I saw them in your shop/on the game, I wasn’t quite sure if the top dot was translucent

#28710 28 days ago

For the UFO mod you can leave the original pop bumper plastic in. So here are updated pics and video.

Just got my 70Th anniversary edition unboxed and setup. This thing is beautiful, the foil cabinet decals just pop. Even sitting next to my JJP’s with radcals, pictures can’t do this stern justice, it’s gorgeous! Can’t wait to do some powder coat, for the stern accessories to come out, along with the stumblor black and white mods.

Congrats! It truly is a masterpiece! Stern knocked it out the park with this one!

I just don't understand why stern cant release accessories along side a new version of a game that's 3 years old! They are so incompetent in that regard.

The game looks great, but I don't think they sold as many as they wanted. Maybe sales will continue to trickle but for now it's a few hundred I think. Hopefully they follow through with the accessories run soon despite that. Typically they have thousands of owners by the time the of first accessories run..

Maybe they are designing something new instead of turning color to b/w

Overkill imo, but to each their own.

IF you want to use a USB regular to plug into board get one of these.

Yeah I didn’t think it was going to be that huge. But what can you do. It’s paid for and can’t return. Lesson learned. Smaller would have been better.

Thanks for the link but I was going to get that but a fellow insider said the main board won’t power it unfortunately.

does it just have a led strip in the back? swap cool white for warm white may match the translite better. Can also try just putting some kapton tape on it. I I recently discovered this is a fast/lazy way to change cool leds warm. Here's the effect of kapton tape on a cool white light on my speaker lights here. looks like it will give you an exact match.

That’s what I wanted to do and put in warm white LED’s in, but it’s 3d printed and can’t unscrew anything to get inside of it. Just too bright with cool white LEDs. Warm white would be great or add the kapton tape, but unfortunately no way to do it.

I got mine from speakerlightkits.com too, but I got the Deluxe 5.25” kit and added the orange plastic inserts. Very happy with the quality, ease of installation and looks. I got the upgraded remote too - it’s not great, but the app is sweet. Overall, I’m very happy with the purchase and the price point.

Well I was having issues with my translite looking like sepia. I contacted my distributor to let him know. In the 70th thread others posted theirs look fine.

So I decided to swap my GZ70th translite into my BM66. I was not expecting this result. I was wondering if it was the LEDs coming from the main board. Sure enough it was the issue.

So if 70th owners have more yellow in their translite that’s the issue.

I will let you know what stern says. They will probably say swap boards lol.

Pretty much looks like you just need cool white LEDs. If stern doesn’t help you, I could probably make you up an inexpensive panel of cool white strips with a dimmer if you are interested.

I will just swap boards at that point with my BM66. But that’s a good idea though. I appreciate the offer. I will let you know. I may just put a few strips of LED lights in the back box like spooky does and turn off the lights on the board.

So I was starting to shop out my Rollercoaster Tycoon and thought I'd put the DJ Mixer on Godzilla.

I know the music is good during gameplay but MAN! This machine has some REALLY good music when you hear it all isolated indiviually.

I am very impressed with this game.

Starting to have this problem where the magnet doesn't hold well. The ball would just fall down immediately while destruction jackpot is on.

I can confirm it's not overheat problem. The magnet is not hot to the touch, and it happens on first game of the day.

Anyone has a clue on how to deal with this?

My first guess is test if the balls are magnetized and oppositly attracted. Easy hypothesis to test and shoot down

It doesn't happen consistently though. Maybe half the time in one game. I recently changed the ball to use the carbon steel because the original Stern balls started to sticks on other metal parts, not sure if that matters

I’d check with a magnet how magnetic the stock balls are compared to the one you are using that is having issues. Maybe it’s a weaker bond?

Refrigerator magnets?

Refrigerator magnets?

No, these are zinc alloy metallic plates. Only 1954 of these were made, as a celebration of the 70th anniversary of Godzilla. Official merchandise by Toho. Produced by a company called Fanattik.

Hey guys, sorry to interrupt the 70th Anniversary B/W party, but does anyone know where this part goes and what it’s supposed to do?

I took apart the plastic triple stack on the left of the playfield by the Maser target to swap out that 1 1/2” rubber and found it laying on the playfield. I’m assuming it came off of one of the posts when I looked away for a moment. I can’t find it listed in the manual anywhere, certainly not around “Plastic 07” and “Plastic 57,” which is where I was working and disassembling stuff. I also replaced all the 1 1/16”rubber sleeves around the playfield last night during the same time frame so it’s possible it came off of another location and I just didn’t notice it.

Any help is much appreciated.

Have you tried giving the magnet above the PF a good wipe down? I had similar issue, used a rag with a spritz of cleaner and the issue went away. My working theory is could be enough debris on the magnet to weakened it just enough. Good luck.

Two issues I have been living with and would now like to fix:

1) magna grab releases ball to tip of flipper instead of the sweet spot making destruction jackpot loop shot impossible.
2) all three balls go SDTM to begin godzilla building multi ball

Thanks

Just got my Godzilla 70th, beautiful! The glass is tight tight tight. Like tight tight, super tight. I've had some tight stern glass as of late, but this is next level. It's not just me though, right. Anything I should be 'concerned' with on this?

I’ve never been able to really solve #1. Some people say to lower upper left leg, I’ve done that but no real impact unless folks are talking about making it massively off (mine is like a half degree or little less). Feels like a solid fix from stern would be a code update to allow those with machines that have this issue to just have the magnet throw the ball left like it normally does on slow /fast releases.

Wondering if others have a solid fix for this issue.
