Quoted from smoore3:On a Pro, I have an issue with my left slingshot where it fires at random during gameplay. There are a few hundred plays on the machine, and this just started happening all of a sudden. At first I thought it might be vibration related either during nudging or caused by the shaker motor, but it is happening at random even when I am cradling the ball on a flipper.
Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot?

I feel bad for the nice guy dealing with my nutty ass with this topper .Why the F%#\ can’t Stern just have Flipinout do a promo video for their accessories prior to release ? Zach and his team do such a fantastic job at giving us the full scope of the product at hand ,it would make this whole process much more enjoyable and informational .The only reason is they’re preying on they’re pinball addicts with the drug FOMO and if true , this is really , really sad . I had it paid for , saw their BS reveal that showed nothing ,canceled it , now (after seeing flipinouts video ) I want it and he’s out of stock .Not the end of the world at all ,there will be more and it’s only flipin pinball but ffs .I was a little nuts prior to this hobby but I’m full blown over the coo coos nest now (Hmm ,that movie would make a great pin ) thanks to falling for coorporate greed and it’s my own damn fault .Like I said , I have some thinking to do about this hobby and where my play $ goes and I’ll do just that .Even this will not deter me from enjoying this killer game that gives me joy at the end of long ,hard day at work over and over .I just wish the bad side of this hobby would disappear . Now please excuse me I must drop this mike and get back to work

Going to run through that test this evening yet, and will update. Much appreciation for the quick help, and tieing it back to that keypost, I had been looking all over using slingshot as key word.

probably just need to adjust a leaf switch

Joel is fun and I love watching his streams. He's so positive and happy. But that stream did nothing for me with the topper. It was not in any way spectacular to me. I understand people disagree. But even during King of Monsters it was just blinky, blink, blink. Okay then.. I'll pass for sure. Enjoy it if you get it because you like it. But your game is complete without it.

Joel is awesome, he has a very similar view of pinball to mine and he is great to watch because his skill is not dissimilar to mine.
My view of the topper has improved a little for sure - it's not terrible. That said I ordered a Tilt topper instead for $100 less.

Looking sweet, have you printed the hands yet?

I'm not a hater of the topper, toppers are not for me. Some are awesome, some so so. What I want to nit pick about this one which I don't think has been said yet is that the flames in the buildings are exactly the same pattern. Just that topper or is that the programing? lame
Well I placed my order for the GZ topper today. I've been in the hobby quite awhile now, and I must say this was probably the most uncomfortable pin related purchased I've ever made.
It's not a great feeling knowing that you're getting bent over. I'm not a "topper guy" at all. I don't care about LE's. This GZ topper isn't that impressive either. Cool lightshow for sure, but IMO it shouldn't cost more than $399 at most. $1K is just absurd. They are clearly raking us. So why did I buy it?
I love those new Challenge modes on the new games like Escape Nublar, Black Order or Are you a God, etc etc. Sometimes I really don't want to play a 30 minute game. The Challenge mode is like boiling your newer game into a simpler straightforward ruleset of an 80's game. I'm sure some people can do without it, but it's a good selling point to me. Once I saw the video of the mode, they had me hooked.
So now that they've tied Challenge Mode to the topper, if you want that in the future, it looks like you'll have to get raked for a grossly overpriced accessory purchase. That's a pretty shady sales tactic, but they know some people just won't be able to resist. But obviously it just worked on me. I can admit that, but I certainly don't approve. It's going to take me quite awhile to justify this one in my head. Buy hey YOLO I guess.
I really should have bought another wedgehead instead.
Quoted from joelbob:I really appreciate the kind words guys!
Joel ( joelbob ), we love watching you because you are so humble and down to earth. You’re one of us, and we really appreciate that. Keep up the great work! Plus you’re letting your magic playing (uncool) brother ride your coattails, who wouldn’t love that.
I would have bought that tilt topper before the stern reveal, but that GZ looks nothing like the GZ I knew and loved. Sorry! It just looks like an angry lizard. Just being honest (and constructive!)
Nothing like a couple ice cold beers to “chill the F out “ I really like the latest feature of getting to planet X on a quicker path .Great job Stern
I’ve been having luck lately with a new strategy .If my scoop shot is off early , Ill avoid it and terrorize the North end of the playfield until I get a lucky bounce in there to start the mode .It’s been working well as I’m staying away from the missed scoop drains or getting on a horizontal path that leads to draining .Also I’m starting with Ebirah if I’m low on the Heat Ray so I can build it during the mode ,Gigan if I have the HR ready , Titanosaurus if I’m close , and Megalon if I’m feeling frisky
Is there any talk about Co Op in GZ ? I’m going to through a request in with stern for the hell of it ,but is it something that needed to be done prior or is it still possible to do so ?

Pretty sure the game is pretty much done at this point, just slight balance and tweaks/fixes at most probably now on

Thank you! That is incredibly kind. Yeah Jared doesn’t really know what to think about all this but I’m glad he keeps coming back to stream! I think we are pulling him into this incredible hobby slowly but surely!
What about King Cesar? He is on the playfield but not any videos or game play. Maybe I haven’t gotten far enough in the game.
Quoted from izzy:What about King Cesar? He is on the playfield but not any videos or game play. Maybe I haven’t gotten far enough in the game.
Adam Warlock is on the AIQ playfield and nowhere to be seen in the game...
I had a decent game on GZ and unlocked King Ghidorah for the first time. I had Rodan and Mothra qualified, so the video announced “Godzilla, Rodan and Mothra vs. King Ghidorah”. It’s an awesome mode too, with several shots lit up in red, then yellow, then green to complete each shot. I nearly defeated him. I also reached Terror of MechaGodzilla for the first time too, also a cool mode that lets you build more and more multiballs, a little like Gappa Angry, but different. I still barely cleared 1 billion, because I’m bad at rules/scoring strategy. . I love my other Sterns: LOTR, Tron, GB and EHoH, but GZ is a masterpiece. So deep and creative, I probably haven’t seen half the game yet.

Too bad. I picked up a TNA recently and got my first taste of CO-OP, my youngest loves it.

I agree. It feels so deep. That's why I haven't undated in a while. I don't want to reach anything easily. I'd rather wait a few years if I have to. It's fun to me. Not criticizing anyone for doing the opposite.
I still think the best light show, however, is Saucer Bultiball. Maybe I'll see a better one, but I'm okay if I don't. It's pretty cool.

How do you do co opp? Hold something down? Can’t figure it out.
Quoted from beltking:How do you do co opp? Hold something down? Can’t figure it out.
Don't think GZ has co-op, unless it's coded with topper, which I haven't heard
Oh , I thought Co Op was something different .We play TNA every week at league . Yeah that’s something different and fun . I’m looking for a style of play where whomever is playing (2-4 people ) you keep the same progression (game ) going altogether .So you’re all working on the same game and keep taking over where the previous player left off .That will help some people (who don’t get far in games) see more of the game while playing with others that can progress the game further .This would help keep more people interested in pinball .Has this ever been done in any game ?

Just to clarify here: That tier-2 battle is always announced as those three monsters vs King G, it doesn't matter if you had the allies qualified or not. Also, you don't actually defeat him - if you complete shots then hit the scoop, you get options to Fight and continue building up scores, or Flee to end it and collect - but there's no mechanism to actually defeat him here.

I agree. Tilt topper is not perfect.
A few small adjustments to the head and it could be much better.
Quoted from Jamesays:did this help solve your issue ? simple adjustment?
Found my issue, this was interesting. A nut from the upper playfield had come off, and had fallen down into the sling resting against the leaf. Couldn't see it down in there with the plastic on. Was probably enough to pinch the leaf together, but yet vibrate where it would cause the sling to fire often, but not quite constant machine gun effect. That explains why the machine was flawless, and then literally overnight went to unplayable with that sling.

Updates don't have to make things easier. The two changes, for Tokyo first battle you can shoot two ramps it doesn't have to be two different ramps and then the later update that lets you get to planet x earlier can both be turned off and left as they currently are.

Ahhh, got it. Thanks. Yeah, I was a shot or two away from completing the shots. I had defeated Gigan to unlock tier 2. I hadn’t beat anyone else. I usually pick Ebirah and rip the spinners. But my son (age 4) insists we fight Gigan whenever he’s playing.

I hear you. The way I look at it is that old solid states didn't get updates and they are still good games. I don't feel like GZ needs to be better or tweaked enough to change anything. I'm ignorant as to computer stuff. But, right now I'm fine. Don't want to even have to change settings.
Quoted from jdlang11:Does anybody have a problem with the building catching/scraping on wire forms and the plastics protectors when it's going up and down. Everything seems tight underneath.
Building seems to be leaning forward a bit from when I first got it.
I have been looking for this in the forum but only can find the discussions on height adjustments not back and forth.
Has anyone had this problem..AFAF.
Eh. I don't like it any better in person. Will definitely get rid of it in a year or two. Maybe I'm just not a topper guy. Also after 18 months, couldn't they have waited a few more weeks til the code was ready to play the new mode? That would have made the first impression a little better.
One thing I hadn't seen yet is a pic of the topper with the flamin frames speaker light kit. They kinda clash, the red flames with the yellow orange flames on the topper. And I think yellow/orange flames are better and I didn't realize I would prefer that on the speaker light kit so thanks shitty topper for making me like my speaker light kit less. I know some people aren't as picky aesthetically, but damn I feel like this point alone might be enough to make me not want the topper even without all the other shit.

You could always buy a gel sheet and tint either the leds up top or the speakers behind the foam.
I got flamin frames on mine too. I’m not worried about the clash.

Wonder how that would look too, plan on changing my speaker flames to a different color....

I think GZ will update automatically if it’s connected to wireless internet. Others can confirm. I believe my EHoH and GZ have updated in recent weeks while they were on. You may not need to adjust settings once yours is set to free play. But if you ever decide to toggle through them with the coin door buttons, it’s easier than you might think. But these days there are a lot of settings!
