Plus one for street decal

I’ve noticed my mechagodzilla is a bit loose. Looking closely I found that it freely tilts back now. Never saw that before. I can’t find a way to tighten it back down. What am I missing?

I thought he was supposed to rock back.

That's by design it's on a hinge, takes some energy out of the ball and helps the magnet grab it . . If it was rigid I'm sure it'd be deflecting that ball all over the play field

Ok thanks. I am not sure what has loosened. During game play it shakes a bit more than usual when I hit it, but the base seems solid and I don’t see anything to tighten. Will just keep playing, maybe I am hallucinating it

Quoted from kool1:

$900?? Yikes!

Yeah I was expecting it to be somewhat close to the $250 I paid for my JP topper. At nearly 4x that price, it was a very easy decision to not grab it.

Pass for me though it is nice. I guess they are moving upscale. I guess they thought Stern was going to do a $2000 GZ topper.

Quoted from brzezicki:

yeah $900 is a bit, but look at it compared to the stern stuff of the same price. (usually acrylic "dioramas") that thing (tild godzilla) is pretty amazing looking. I love the moving fire to the side.
That said I"m not a topper fan myself the only value I see in the topper is added game code and that kind of even offends me after paying 10K for a game you have to buy 1K to get more game modes. I did buy a avengers topper the only topper I had off of someone that was selling theirs at a discount after never getting the game.. just to see what the draw of the topper was. I cannot say I really see why people like them myself except the game modes.
That said the tilt toppers really are quite beautiful and most of them quite a resonsable price for something that custom and "nice" compared to Sterns.

Ya.. I made an exception for Rush topper. I probably should stop now.

250 dollar stern toppers will never exist again. Hope for 750 at best.

Can someone show with pics how to loosen and adjust the rotating mechagodzilla ramp? I don't want to break anything, i'm not seeing how to get that nylon nut to move.

#21310 4 months ago

Is there an updated and complete list of the settings and their numbers? The buttons on my machine suck and I've never changed them out. It would be nice to be able to actually read a list. I know there's one in the manual bit is incomplete and old.

#21311 4 months ago

No list that I know of. You can use the flipper buttons and start button in lieu of the coin door buttons.

Think it would be worth putting in the time to make one? I know I'd use it. Maybe I will.

Help! Just got in a godzilla premium and its my first stern machine

Where and how do i adjust the flipper coil power adjustments? I can see the flipper info in the coil test on the menu, but there does not seem to be a way there to change the power

Thanks!!

No need to adjust flipper power, it comes set from the factory.

Are you having issues with your flippers?

No, but i was wanting to dial them in a little

My alien pin allows you to adjust coil strength, and hold times etc

Are sterns factory fixed and unadjustable?

They can be adjusted. I set up mine a bit steep so I raised left flipper power a bit. Perfectly normal to do so.

I’m not near my machine but it should be in the menu under “Adjustments” - “Game” and if you scroll to the left through then I think you get to flipper settings faster than going to the right through numerical order. Dial it in wherever you feel good with it.

Quoted from CashMoney:

It is not only possible but in fact best practice to dial in your coil power settings... they are not always ideal from factory

The two that come up all the time are trough eject (to be gentler on shooter lane) and auto plunge (too strong and it will get stuck behind MGZ). Can dial that one in to hit the captive ball or not depending on preference. Another one would be scoop eject. What kind of rubber is on your flippers and how do you want the ball to behave when it ejects? And then of course flipper strength.

Yes +1 to all of this! I always turn down the trough eject power.

I was more referring the the flipper power strength. Elwin chooses coil strength and power and it’s ready to go from the factory. I see no reason to adjust it unless you’re getting rejects or having other issues.

My flipper powers been untouched since day 1, no issues!

I turned mine down a bit since balls were flying up the ramps

#21322 4 months ago
Quoted from Tommy_Pins:

Same (have adjusted all 3 flippers a bit) although I still get quite a few mecha spinner-->mecha right arm-->left ramp wireform jumps, its kinda consistent so I'm just going to with it.

Hi everybody,

I propose two figurines now with NECA godzilla figurine
You can choose 2001 or 1956
Each figurine comes with two small jet fighters built in resin and handed painted.
And of course a specific plate for standing the figurine.

Blue : https://pinside.com/pinball/market/shops/1338-pino-pinball-mods-shop/08591-blue-godzilla-figurine-neca-2001

Green :

Have a nice day.

According to email from one dealer today, the first run of toppers is very small, and the second, final run (unknown when) will be however many orders Stern gets from the dealers.

#21326 4 months ago

I know there are specific subwoofers and speakers for pinball machines but is there anyway to hook up a regular Samsung sound bar to Godzilla? I have a good one one lying around with a Bluetooth sub and want to make use of it.

Yup. I’m in the second run but it’s a “Guranteed” spot with the deposit. I’m cool with waiting a bit anyways. With an Iron Maiden Prem & Scooby CE coming in the next couple week being in line for some point down the road is probably a good thing.

If anyone from Stern is reading: it would be ideal to just be able to hit your machine's IP address on your local wifi network and manage your settings in a browser from your laptop or phone.

Stern thinks we will buy anything they throw at us at any price. They blame their severe Pre/LE/topper price increases on scalpers and JJP. Heard a distro say they told Stern if it’s not a major hit, the game will sit in their warehouses at the ridiculously high MSRP prices Stern is charging. As the saying goes, what goes up, must come down. Not a matter of if, but when?

If I was them, I would add more stuff rather than lower the price. Godzilla LE was only 10,499 and the next ones were 12,999? And still sold out. The last LEs I remember that did not sell out were WWE? If some are slow to move next time they could throw in a topper or just let them sit for a while. Not everything needs to sell in the first few hours.

Hey Memorial Day Everyone!

We are pleased to announce that The Electric Playground is officially entering the ring to battle it out for your hard earned, Godzilla topper dollars! We’ve thrown a ton into this project designing what we believe to be the ultimate crown for the King of Monsters!

As with all our toppers, we designed this unit to be fully interactive with the game with an array of light shows and mechanical elements that will correspond with various game modes and light sequences. The rotating Godzilla spike wheel activates with the Kaiju battles and an elevating alien mothership raises and lowers when players ultimately make their way to the ever-elusive Planet X Multiball!

IMG_3722 (resized).JPGIMG_3722 (resized).JPGIMG_3725 (resized).JPGIMG_3725 (resized).JPGIMG_3730 (resized).JPGIMG_3730 (resized).JPGIMG_3742 (resized).JPGIMG_3742 (resized).JPG

We’re offering this topper in two different versions: the Player Edition and The Challenger Edition. Player Edition will feature all of the LED and lighting features, but will forgo the two mechanical elements, and will be offered at a sub $900 price point. While the Challenger Edition will feature all the bells and whistles and be offered for a few hundred more. Final pricing will be announced when the first batch of deposits are collected in August.

But wait, that’s not all! For the first time in topper history (at least we think it is?!) we will also be offering an add-on component called “The Conqueror Upgrade”.This easy to add expansion will mount directly onto your existing topper and allow owners of BOTH models to update their GZ toppers with a full 3D alien console!

This custom addition will feature 4 two-inch screens in all of the monster monitor inserts that will play custom animations in sequence with the in-game action, and completely transform the look of your topper!

While still in development, we will be sharing updates and more progress photos/videos on this awesome new concept, as well as the other mechanical elements of the topper, as things continue to evolve.

All product details and waitlist information can be found on our official GZ thread here: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/the-electric-playground-gz-topper-batch-1-sept-23#post-7601146

Interesting!

I will wait to see what Stern has but definitely on the radar.

#21346 4 months ago

Having a strange intermittent issue and was hoping someone else here has ran into it. Occasionally if I come back to my game after it being on for a few hours it will be completely unresponsive.

When this happens the backlight is lit, the screen is on (but frozen) and the playfield is completely dark. It’s completely unresponsive to any buttons but a power cycle boots everything back up properly and it works as expected.

Any suggestions? I’ve done the obvious checking of connections and have reached out to stern for suggestions as well.

Got the below email from one of my distributors and it had:

“Stern will release and begin shipping the long awaited Godzilla Pinball Topper tomorrow, Tuesday May 30th at 10:00 am EST.”

#21348 4 months ago

Well I can't wait to see if the Stern topper is any more or less ridiculous than that Electric Playground monstrosity. Good Lord what have we become.

I think the non-official toppers are gonna be a hard sell if the official one adds gameplay... Especially if they're all at the same price point. Assuming it's not hideous or too basic.

I agree. Need substantial savings.. a $500 price point perhaps.
