Quoted from Sleal16:

Just the box, right? my box was beat up a little but machine unscathed. yeah .80 is current

The head bad gouge, and 2 spots on main cabinet. Box had a few holes in it.

What we all are paying for these things, I know things happen but all of these dings and bruises and gouges are unacceptable. It's not Stern's fault but maybe the boxes need to be marked better who knows maybe it's just the people doing their job that don't really give a shit with the transportation companies. I've had pretty good luck with FedEx though.

Before and after. With pinstadiums the horns glow blue which is awesome. Had to remove the guard but I think it will be okay. Ordered BANDAI S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla Ohrai Noriyoshi Poster Ver. on eBay from Japan for $250 and came in five days. Command strips on feet and twist tie over tail. It’s just enough away from side art. I use protectors when lifting table anyways.

Sooooo much better than cartoon stern version.

Don't know how many different freight companies are used, but the one mine came in, the box looked like it was starting to wear down at the base starting to sink in... And looking a little grimey. I think one more exchange of "hands" or something and the box might have been pushed passed it's limits.

#1756 2 years ago

The lid on my box was almost torn off side was flapping. 3 fork lift holes in box. I was kinda kidding. I told the guy send it back, because of damage. But I realized there isn’t another one.

Oof, that sucks. Distro I picked up from today, all three LE boxes had multiple holes and scrapes from FedEx. Thankfully though just box damage, nothing happened to the insides. It's like getting shot but the bullet just goes through mush instead of organs.

Looking forward to code revision with inevitable changes to pause timers when ball is on magnet or in scoop and to allow blowing off the videos you currently can't.

I did this too today.
Had balls trapped up on both flippers and held the button down with my chin.

Did the same thing today, lol.

Anybody have trouble with the ball floating off the guide rail making more than 2 loops impossible? I just set mine up today and am still tweaking.

Unboxed my LE today.

Holy crap.

Didn’t want to believe it but best Stern ever? I don’t know. So many to choose from but this one is right up there

Would also be cool to allow more stacking or to skip qualified things that block monster progress. After first one I feel like there's usually something qualified that prevents me from making progress toward next monster or fighting them (change city, tank multiball, rampage, maybe others). Finding it challenging to get much through the monsters because have to do other things in between. But I'm less than 30 games in so may get better or understand a rule I'm not.

What do you have your upper flipper power at? It is dialed down in factory default to 160. Bumped it to 180 but still seems weak, maybe only 10-20% of shots make it up the ramp and 60-70% have enough power to make the orbit fully. Does anyone have theirs at 200 or above? Seems like a double edged sword, jack the power up on that and hit the ramp better but then pretty hard to make consecutive orbit shots.

I'm above 200, not sure exact number. But can occasionally make ramp shot and have hit 6 loops in a row so far. Once

If you refuse to sign and write on the BOL that it was damaged you are good. Done it before.

I’ve also refused delivery before. Depends on level of damage. Dialed-in, glass was shattered and cabinet was broken. He loaded that one back on the truck.

Will be going in my pro along with Godzilla.

How’s the quality of the art blades?

#1781 2 years ago
Quoted from hisokajp:

had the same issue on my lower right flipper, coil sleeve was there but not long enough to make it through the bracket on the other side as it should.

I fixed a Pro today that had a weak right flipper. The bracket was rubbing on the sliding coil core. I simply replaced the sleeve and smoothed out the coil core. As you can see in the pictures the faulty sleeve is flush with the coil and the replacement sleeve is slightly higher to fit into the bracket.

Thanks for the sympathy. If I sent machine back. I probably would only get refund. The game can not be replaced for $11k. Ya I am picky. The value of my machine is not the same as an undamaged machine.

First-time pin owner who is trying to get his game set up securely without going crazy. It was recommended to me to replace the factory stern rubbers. I found my way to https://www.titanpinball.com/kits/index.php/browse/bygame/5761 where there are four user-suggested kits for Godzilla Pro, each of them different (beyond just the colors or number of spares).

Would someone who understands this stuff take a look and suggest which to go with or how to assess that myself? I see each one lists different post sleeves, except one that doesn't list them at all. And I had to google to learn what a post sleeve even is. Thanks.

Here’s the one I made, it’s taken directly from the pro manual from Stern. I added 1 extra rubber of each size. I’ve triple checked the list so I know it’s accurate per the manual.

If you refuse delivery, they take the machine back and repair it. They don’t put it on a scratch and dent sale. You just get it repaired.

#1789 2 years ago

I just got it today. It is my first time. Shipping damage. I have pics. Waiting to hear back from fed ex. What should expect or ask for.?

If they offer me. Let’s say 11k. That is not going to work. I can not replace an LE for 11k.

Magna grab questions:

1. Has anyone messed with the settings in the feature adjustments to dial their magna grab in?

2. When is it supposed to activate to effect the direction of the ball on the shots that pass by it? Is it random or just at certain times?

Obviously, on the main shot through the building, and I know like 4 shots feed to that spot...it just seems like it was activating on the heat ray loop all the time, and it's not now. Some shots through the building are not being fed up the orbit lane to feed the flipper, and just sort get grabbed by the magnet a bit and then go down the middle of the playfield?

What was the reason someone recommended you swap every rubber out? Just swap out the black flipper and slingshot rubbers to a different color, as the dust from black rubber will make the playfield dirtier than other colors. Rubber might break here and there over the months/years, but you might as well wait in swapping them until you have to. Changing rubber on an entire playfield with modern pins can be a pain in the ass.

I think it's just certain times it throws it up the left orbit and other times it just redirects the ball to the lane behind the upper flipper.

Here's what the two settings in the adjustments actually do:

GODZILLA MAGNET PULSE DELAY TIME - after the ball activates the "BUILDING EXIT" switch, this the the length of time (in ms) that will elapse before the magnet is pulsed (for flicking the ball up the left orbit lane)

GODZILLA MAGNET PULSE DRAW TIME" - length of time (in ms) that the magnet will be pulsed after waiting for GODZILLA MAGNET PULSE DELAY TIME above (for flicking the ball up the left orbit lane)

Keith said they're still working on timings and there will be adjustments in future code. I do prefer the stronger magna-grab and hold while balls are locked on the Pro that was present in earlier versions of the code. The magnet in 0.80 is way wimpier than the version before.

For next time you should have refused delivery then the game goes back to Stern they fix it and send you a like brand new game.

Signing for it changes what can happen now. Your best bet is to have your distributor talk with the shipper.

Edit the one time I had shipping damage, I learned this the hard way. Never sign for a damaged game.

That would be very hard to refuse and wait more months to finally get the game. Luckily I haven't had any shipping damage on previous NIB purchases and hopefully I stay lucky when my premium arrives.

Yeah, they did say those are the most important ones. Said that I may want to do the others too. That the first time I do a deep clean and take most things off I could change the rest and be one and done for those. But point taken. Maybe see what it costs to buy the full set and then have them on hand, but only proactively do the ones you mentioned.

Thanks. Since I'm trying to understand this stuff, would you let me know why you have "Post Sleeves - Standard" vs. "
Post Sleeves - Stern Slim Tapered" or "Post Sleeves - 1/2 Inch (Stern / DE)" which are ones in other kits (and have 'Stern' in their names)?
