Any word about when the accessories for Godzilla will be shown.
Quoted from mpdpvdpin:Everyone loves this game. It’s great, but…Here’s a few things that I don’t like just for conversation sake.
-The extra balls. They are just automatically rewarded? I want to light it and collect it as I find it very satisfying to do so.
- The sound / EQ. The callouts sound like they were recorded in a tin can. I’m sure this is to make it sound like it’s from the early 70’s but…it doesn’t sound great. I put a headphone jack in and I don’t even use it because the sound is so piercing (and yes…I’m very high quality headphones)
-The MechaGZ spinner insert. It’s a small detail but I’d love to see that light yellow like the other inserts (especially in the Ebirah mode)
- Insert color choice for MB and modes. They are too similar and it makes me nuts when I’m in a mode and multi. It’s like yellow and light yellow. I’d love for the MB jackpot insert color to something else so the mode and jackpot lights flash in a more obvious way.
- I find the game to be absolutely rife with cheap drains. STDM from the building. Unsaveable Left drain from an incomplete right ramp shot. Lightning fast Right outlane drains from the pop. Terrible drains from the Tailwhip shot at the outlane post and sling post. Ball comes down, bounces off the outlane post, into the sling post and directly into the outlane. I find myself physically wrestling with this machine more than any of the 50 or so games I’ve owned. Feel like I’m playing defense the entire time and I’m quite a good player (not to toot but…) I’ve set this game up so many ways and nothing is really helping. Turned down power to slings and pop a bit…I REALLY don’t want to move to outlane posts in but…maybe I will.
-Bridge and Tank…when they are lit the game won’t allow you to start a battle first before starting. I want to strategize and stack. Not just whack a multiball for points. So when I see ‘Tank’ is lit at the scoop and I can’t start a battle first I’m like “great, what a waste of MB”. Same with Bridge, but that’s on me as most of the time I don’t notice the red bridge light on the sign. Wish it were more obvious when you were close to bridge MB or at least allow you to start a battle in mode (or after hitting one super jackpot or something.
Refreshing critics here!
I get your point about the extra balls. I also thought so. Sometimes i don't even notice them being rewarded. On the other hand i read that more/changed extra balls are planned for software updates.
Hopefully the insert colors are tuned a bit more in later software also. Mecha insert should have been RGB.
You can stack modes with Building and Mecha MB, so i am fine with how the Tank MB is blocking battle activation. Play better and avoid shooting enough tanks to start MB.
Cheap drains, i sometimes also get them. But it seems quite high on your machine. The worst for me is an unsaveable left outlane from the bumper.
I own a TMNT as well. People do complain about it’s difficultly but I personally love it and can light it up with long ball times. The left out lane IS dangerous but that’s every Borg game. If you flail around you lose your ball but if you trap up and play conservatively the game pays out. That’s great pinball imo. I find Godzilla to be the opposite. No matter how conservatively I play or how well I strategize it feels like all I’m doing is defending against cheap drains from multiple areas. This may be the first game I’ve owned where I feel like I have to make multiple tweaks to make the gameplay feel fair. If only to save my location players from feeling robbed and keep the game profitable. It earned extremely well when I first brought it in and now the coin is shifting to other less infuriating games.
Normally I’d agree about consciously not shooting Tanks but the inserts are all located where mode shots are and the final is at the scoop where you start modes. At least once a game Tank just becomes lit while I’m working towards another battle and I get locked out. It just feels like a strategy killer for me, same with bridge. If the MB qualifying shots were separate from mode qualifying shots it would be easier to avoid and plan ahead but as it stands I feel like these interfere with progression instead of being useful tools in completing the game.

Anyone see any differences between prem/LE and pro for the stdm drain coming out of the building? My LE I could have it multiple times a game especially if I hit the shot fast and smooth to the left of the building. Basically tried to avoid the shot at all costs. On the pro with probably 50 games it has happened once which makes shooting much more enjoyable. It’s a new build so not sure if they adjusted it or if the pro with the building being stationary if that’s the difference

played the pro and did not notice this at all but my LE is the same as yours a quick perfect shot to left of building returns SDTM, and no nudge that fast is possible. Need to look at how this can be adjusted I consider a perfectly placed shot with the return SDTM as a cheap drain.
my left of building shot only does a quick SDTM about 10% of the time (obviously the wallop helps save that), and ya, no way to nudge out of that that i've seen. the rest of the time, it's hitting the left flipper. it may be a slight left to right balance issue, similar to the multiball feed

I hear ya but very anal in balancing and my bubble is half way in the upper quadrant for steepness but will check balance once again. We are talking a very clean fast shot otherwise mine is savable

If you practice it’s pretty easy to plan and set up a mode before getting tank ready. You just have to be more careful.

On that pro it hits the right flipper every time. It’s a noticeable difference from the 150 games I had on my LE to the point where I consistently score much higher. I usually get 100 m game or more in the pro. The LE it was like 40-50 m was an average game
Edit - insider connect does averages which is cool. Added the image of the score differences

Connected the game to the WIFI easily, connection test after that showed no internet, but that was solved after a restart.
Can't wait to play

not if you get a powered sub, like a psw10

Sweet, and makes sense. Thank you!
Quoted from Muymanwell:PL's cost 4x as much to ship to me, making that price difference null and void, at least in my case
Yeah,......... so you like my shipping options?

This is a good $35 spent at Pinnovators. Very small little board they make that connects into the Spike to board in the back box.
Comes with the cables needed to run down through the bottom of the cabinet and power a sub. They recommend, and I have had good success with the Polk 10-in sub. Awesome effect.

I personally just went with this, but it's obviously a bit hackier:

I've never had a sdtm drain on my Pro in 175+ games from the Wallup shot. It's always a clean exit to my right flipper. The LE i play on route has sdtm drains often from this shot, so much that you have to try and avoid shooting it. I'm not sure if adjusting the pitch and level of the game would improve the exit on the LE, but it is something that I've noticed as a difference in playing the 2 models.

At least with .85 atm, that side of the building entry to the building exit drain is "safe" with the momentary ball save it triggers now. For my shots it varies on the speed that I get that exit. Seems about 40% it drains, rest it barely gets the edge of the flipper to bounce out of.

That's Pinball Life making a crap ton of money of international especially Canada since he could just ship these UPS and it would not cost much more than mailing it to the states.... ridiculous!

Sure, there's various ways to do sub hookup, but I've been using these for the last couple years on several machines, and I've been extremely happy every time. You're going to love it. Adding the sub to this game is an excellent upgrade! Once you see how easy and effective this hookup is, you're going to end up doing it to all of your games

That's good that it at least gives you a ball save now. When I played an LE a few weeks back on earlier code it didn't which sucked because it penalizes you for making what should be a rewarding and fun shot.

what do these do or accomplish compared to just using the alligator clips direct to the internal mid to low speaker? Anyone?
All this talk about speakers and subs etc.... I have a question for the tech pro's here lol.
If I purchased and external amp to amplify the back box speakers which will be 5.25" and the 8" cabinet sub, in addition to having a Polk PSW10 powered sub under the machine how would I do all these hookups?
I do have the Pinnovators spike adapter kit as well.
Here is the powered amp:

Get the pinnovators spike II adapter for $35 and a psw10.

Just use the pinnovators adapter and the external sub. I see no need for an amp. I have done this on all my stern spike II games. It’s over kill IMO.
The real beauty of the Pinnovators system is you can add up to 4 (or more) pins to your sub with their splitter and you can adjust the volume of each sub independently and everything will plug right in with their mini stereo jacks. If it's just one pin per one machine nothing's wrong with using the alligator clips. Powered subs really rock!

Godzilla's Roar isn't still where I like it to be, hence why I want to boost the game speakers as well. If you ever heard R&M machine with their amp going and and a powered sub woofer too that's the effect I'm trying to achieve with Zilla. Rocks the dam house

Ordered both today, thank you!!
What’s with the third callout guy? You very rarely hear him, but the voice quality sounds like it was recorded on a cell phone. “We love you, Godzilla” was one of the callouts. They’re cringey and don’t really seem to fit.
Is this from one of the film dubs, or is it some inside joke at Stern?

same with the hulk shot on the AIQ, if you make a clean shot, it comes back STDM also (through Captain America), almost no way of saving it...

This is has been very rare for me. The shot has to be very exact in trajectory and speed to skip the bumpers and posts to go sdtm out of Capt America. I see it maybe one in 30+ hulk shots? Annoying when it happens though

Your very welcome. Enjoy! Makes a big difference in sound.

Yeah, I would rather hear an Xillien taunt me rather than the " I love you Godzilla!" callout....seems out of place.
Lazy ass question...Does anyone know if can turn the sounds up of the spinners as they a little quiet for my liking! Nothing better than the spinner sound

on my game if the shot is not really fast enough, then you're mostly ok, but a fast/clean shot is like 90% gone

Odd...this has never happened to me with over 1000+ plays...maybe i slap save it every time, but i can't think it happening once
