My Mechagodzilla is the Bandai 8” 1995 reissue of the 1983 version. The only difference from this one and the 1983 version is that it is all silver compared to the 1983 having some black on it. It measures 4” tall cut in half. You could fit up to a 5.25” figure in there and be just under the glass.

Oh cool. I might have mis-measured the area on my LE. Couldnt get the darn bash toy on that off to try it on with the glass. Should get it in a Pro sometime soon. At least this one, just for looks check until I make the next cleaner draft.

Quoted from Pugster:

Lighting bottom up through that “splash” may just be the ticket…nice find!

That's kind of what I was thinking as well. One of those comet star post lights is easily hid under the bottom of that. Looks pretty sweet, unfortunately the piece was pre-painted with white enamel on the tip of the breath and the top and bottom of the splash. So although the LEDs luminate the base they don't travel up the column of breath the way I would have hoped. I have a few ideas for some workarounds. Still like it 100% better than the red breath.

You may be able to get away with 5.5” tall depending on the location of where the tallest point of the figure is located. By the way I am looking forward to getting my saucer mod from you.

Yep. Taking a while because of the older methods.

Quoted from gripwhip:

Are we sure this one fits? I thought it had to be under 6.2" or something?

Well it fits fine in my Godzilla premium. If your that scared don't buy it.

Quoted from gripwhip:

not sure why they listed it as 7"...from the description: "Godzilla stands approximately 6" tall and measures 12" long from head to tail"

most of these neca figures are right around the same size, and have some decent articulation, so you can adjust them a bit to fit. the poster godzilla bonks his head on the glass if he's too forward, in example, but you can shift him back, or bend him down a bit, to make up for it.

Just getting confirmation that it was the right one and will fit. I have read about other Neca models being used too. Thanks.

#1310 2 years ago

That's the best one to buy. He is an authentic looking Godzilla like the one in the movie clips. And to be honest he fits in there just perfect. You just have to bend his tail up along the building in the back.

Also it comes with the tail detach from the main figure. To snap that tail in is a real pain in the butt. You got to use dishwashing liquid soup to lube the ball joint up before you snap it in the socket.

I need this. How did you attach it?

#1314 2 years ago

I'm having trouble aligning the back left habitrail with the building. My building seems too low or the ramp too high. Can some post a picture of the back GZ Pro building.

The figure is hollow inside so I cut a circle the size of the bottom out of 3/4” thick wood. I applied glue inside the figure and pressed the piece of wood into place. After you remove the plastic Mechagodzilla you are left with two holes on the mounting plastic in your machine. Position your new Mechagodzilla where you like it and use the two holes in the mounting plastic as a template to mark your drill holes in the wood. A couple small wood screws with washers and you are done.

So... I'm working on the rooftop mod and I'm curious as to the height of these spacers and if there are any washers? I've downloaded the manual and I don't see any specifics as to these parts. If anyone knows or has the glass off and could measure, I would truly appreciate it.

Looking great man. If you really want the cabinet sub to work well I'd highly recommend an external amplifier. They're inexpensive, and make imo more difference than changing the actual woofer!

Im impressed so far with the Pro sound sys. You just need to tweek settings alot. The Pyle sub is rattling the glass without the amp, so thats a good sign. What back box speaks would you recommend for the replacement on the GZ Pro? Stock is 4 inch I believe.

Im studying the rules now so I can make better gameplay videos.

FYI. The Avengers IQ lit Stern shooter Rod works and is interactive with GZ. Looks better than GZ version imo.

Would these Pyle 4 inch work/fit the Pro? They are a good value at 28.00 Looks like I just need a spacers.

I'd suggest the Kicker CSC44 (4") or CSC54 (5" if you want to get an adaptor plate for them).

Here is the Godzilla I add to my pro. 17 USD. Just clip his tail and screw to the plastic.

Over priced imo. Stern LE Kenmores are 40 a set on Pinballlife.com.

#1328 2 years ago

Yeah strangely they're a lot cheaper in Australia relative to the Kenwoods, but honestly anything is going to be better than standard!

#1329 2 years ago

Did a little mod-combination with two UFO-mods (two for one).
3M double sided transparent tape was the solution.

Kenwoods are $40 delivered in Australia.

Never seen them under $50 plus postage, Kickers are $84 posted. In the US, the Kickers are double (or more) compared to the Kenwoods. Anyway, comes down to budget and preference.

Thanks for the kind words about the Od mod. Hopefully I will put it on my game as soon as I have time in the next few days.

I owe the design to my Friend Jason Bakutis who made the youtube video above. Look him up. he does amazing work.
