Quoted from gumnut01:

Also he have people attached the atomic breath. It seems a bit long and does not stay in there.
Do people trim? Use double sided tape or glue?
Lastly without breath, Godzilla has his head up and glares straight ahead. With breath you need to angle him down so he is less confrontational.
Even though I love the idea of the atomic breath and modding it to light up, I’m hesitant to do so if it sacrifices how good the Godzilla figure looks.
What did other people with this figure do. Add the breath and have him look down or ditch the breath?
First photo shows him upright with breath, breath sits in bridge. 2nd shows him without flame looking up. 3rd shows breath out of the way but forces him to look down. Breath is still too long here would need to be trimmed. I have Godzilla using the foot screw holes as detailed by others before.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

I attached the breath for a while but it fell out. You could glue it I guess like some suggested, but I didn’t want to ruin my figure. I don’t know why. Lol
I just didn’t want it permanently in there. Anyway, If you want to keep the head up while the breath is in, you could cut a small piece of something and stick in between his neck joint. I can’t remember but I may have stuck one in the joint above that one too. Just put something in there. I know, after I said I didn’t want to ruin my figure. Lol. Anyway I could get it out if I want with tweezers. What I used was a small rubber bumper thing. I’m not even sure what you call them. It’s like a clear dot with a sticky back. I cut it and put a piece in there. You can see it on mine but not noticeable to anybody else, if they aren’t looking. Up close u can. See pic 2 but pic 3 it’s tough to see.

Flaming frames (with optional city skyline and plastic canvas) bring a tear to my eye. Just beautiful. Great job DugFreez
Godzilla looks so happy now there’s more destruction outside of the playfiled area.

Did you paint the yellow vomit blue or are you getting that effect via lighting? I've got my replacement Godzilla in but haven't put the yellow vomit in his mouth because I want it to be blue

I did blue light strip behind it.
Probably won't hurt to. Paint it blue as well.

Did you just use a matrix strip? Also, can you provide a pic of the finished product lit-up?

Pictures do it no justice. Here’s my lame YouTube video on em haha. You can check out the first 45 seconds of it to get a better look at them in motion if ya want.

tdiddy's tesla towers, replace the gz in the back (i recommend neca's 1956 poster godzilla figure), there's a lot of options for jets as well.

Tdiddys Tesla strike towers are a must, I just added a little extra paint and some detail touches to mine today. If you've got the pro definitely check out his building, if they're not sold out yet.

I don’t get mine for a while and I’m already on a list for Sleal’s Saucer. I think it’s the best bang for the buck mod out there, improves the flat plastic pop bumper 100%. All the videos/pics of GZs without a saucer mod of some sort look like they’re missing something IMHO.

I also scooped the NECA GZ.

For those out there who are concerned that the poster art neca Godzilla figure might not match the artwork, this might be an answer. These are available for under $100. They have one other available also that looks pretty cool.

Sticks out like a sore thumb worse than even me putting my unpainted 3d printed Zilla on the playfield would, IMO.

Well first off it's the wrong era & looks like it's ripped from Heisei Era movies. IDK why anyone would replace vibrant matching ZY artwork with a hodgepodge collage of stolen DVD box art.

Exaxtly, ZY art is fantastic. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Even if you change the translite to try and match your neca Godzilla figure you still have all the YZ Godzilla art all over the cabinet and playfield.

#1069 2 years ago

I think the neca translight has some charm to it even if it doesn't match ZY look. I just hate the dumb orange square with small font writing.

It does, no idea why anyone would swap out a ZY translite for anything but another ZY translite.

You guys are rough on Lior. Is the cost for everyone? No. Will any of these mods add value come sale time? No. Just personal preference I guess. Personally I think his mods are unrivaled. At least for GnR anyway!

I always get the deluxe versions. The extras are worth it to me. The one on my acdc premium is awesome too.

I thought I would post this in case anyone was thinking about ordering Chrome Candy’s bridge plastic metal replacement. This is the best mod I have added to my GZ for two reasons…

1) It’s an aesthetically pleasing solution to the breaking plastic problem
2) While installing, I was able to properly fix the most frustrating problem on my game….LT ramp rattle rejection shots.

https://pinside.com/pinball/market/shops/1029-chrome-candy/05861-under-the-bridge-plastic-replacement

There are no instructions, so this is how I did it. First remove the c-clamp & washer from here
736CE402-755F-4376-94A5-D302201D0C49 (resized).jpeg736CE402-755F-4376-94A5-D302201D0C49 (resized).jpeg

Then remove the lock nut from underneath the bridge here.
4D91BBAD-B295-423F-BD9A-71EE241A4314 (resized).jpeg4D91BBAD-B295-423F-BD9A-71EE241A4314 (resized).jpeg

The RT half of the bridge will slide off the shafts. Be careful these washers & spacers don’t fall off this screw.
2926E411-498F-4145-B3FD-6110D59A35A9 (resized).jpeg2926E411-498F-4145-B3FD-6110D59A35A9 (resized).jpeg

First remove the plastic. There’s a small black screw & a lock nut holding it in place. When you try to remove the lock nut, the post screwed into the playfield t-nut will likely come out with it. No worries. You can separate them now.
B79D9E31-F59D-400C-B746-CCFE5C24788C (resized).jpegB79D9E31-F59D-400C-B746-CCFE5C24788C (resized).jpeg

Use a magnet tool to remove the captive ball
EE67A437-0D93-4823-90A1-597FD95E6F3B (resized).jpegEE67A437-0D93-4823-90A1-597FD95E6F3B (resized).jpeg

See this gap between the guide & the big magnet? It shouldn’t be there. 50% of my LR ramp shots would catch the edge of this guide, rattle around, and reject. Well no more! Time it fix this to ensure clean smooth shots to the LT ramp.
DC96FAA6-0E67-4DE0-8F5A-99ED16C13D22 (resized).jpegDC96FAA6-0E67-4DE0-8F5A-99ED16C13D22 (resized).jpeg

Now some might grab some pliers & start bending metal, but not me. Remove the guide & do it right. So remove these two lock nuts & slide the guide out.
AE91481A-78AD-4AEA-961C-9E81571C84B0 (resized).jpegAE91481A-78AD-4AEA-961C-9E81571C84B0 (resized).jpeg

Now that you gave the guide out, you’ll want to bend it slightly. Right here on the dotted line. Take it to your vice & bend as needed. Then reinstall in place. Don’t overtighten the lock nuts or you’ll strip them.

Problem solved! And the good thing is that the ball will have more room to rock when held by the magnet, giving you more motion to hit the imposter shot behind the upper flipper. And when it stops rocking, it will sit farther to the left, leading to better feeds to the upper flipper for destruction jackpot shots.

Before you install the metal protector, put the captive ball back in place. Even by bending the guide, there is still plenty of room in there for the ball to move around & hit the switch. And it doesn’t hurt to polish the protector with a little Mothers Mag. Get that thing nice and shiny! Then screw the post screw back into the playfield t-nut, and then secure the metal in place.

Put the bridge back together & make sure it functions properly. Now the game plays better & there’s no worries or plastics breaking. And now you can see the captive ball too. Great mod! Highly recommended!

Looks really cool. Love the hand cast and hand painted detail. I would be a customer if you end up moving forward, but if not you have a super cool Godzilla unique to every other one out there.

Anyone else think Sterns side armor is terrible? Its like dragon heads with sparks coming out.
I’m thinking of doing my own custom set with a different design. Anyone interested I can have a buddy make a run on his plasma table. I was thinking forward of the button of having the cut out say Godzilla in Japanese.

Looking for inspiration while waiting for my July build.

I'll be doing a king ghidorah topper with yellow/white flashers (to simulate lightning), once my statue arrives from gamestop in april (it's already been pushed back at least once)

Thought I would post this…

This 6” Jet Jaguar toy is pretty popular, not expensive & easy to find on Amazon. Most people mount him on the RT over by the upper loop, but I have other plans for that area. I still like the toy tho, so I found a better spot for him.

I lowered the building & securely zip tied his front leg to this post. His back foot is wedged up against the back panel, so he’s not going anywhere. Twist his upper body & arm so it’s not blocking ball entry to the roof.

He’s now peaking behind the building, and fully in view when the building collapses. Win win IMO. Gotta have more Kaiju!
