Finally got the right color matching after ordering 7 different paints over the past few weeks (also transitioning to airbrush from can/brush helped drastically).

I'll be placing pre-orders for these later tonight. And TBD on the pro version, still working out on some designs

For anyone that ordered the MechaGodzilla Interactive Shield mod this past week, your orders have been shipped and I spent this past week working to build up some inventory. I currently have 17 MechaGodzilla shield mods and 13 roof mods boxed up and ready to ship if you are looking for one or both. Links are included below. Thank you again to everyone who purchased a mod and made it possible for me to grow. I am working hard on some new and exciting mods and really appreciate the support.

Just installed HurryUpPinball interactive shield mod. It's fantastic!

He also has one of the best step by step installation videos I have seen. High quality all the way.

Just a little project I've been working on with the small Maser cannon toy I picked up from Japan.

In addition to a spotlight at the top of the left outlane, which is rigged with interactive sensor to the Maser cannon pf insert, I fashioned a blue LED (with wiring running on the back side of the cannon) which I connected to the dome flasher there behind it.

So, when the Maser cannon pf insert is lit, a Comet warm white "insane bright" bulb from the outlane shines up and highlights the cannon, and when the dome flasher behind it lights at its different intensities, so does the blue light at the cannon.

I painted the dome/tip of the cannon in a mirrored silver such that when the blue light shines, it's nice and reflective. All of the above gives some nice variation of lighting to this area as sometimes one light is lit, sometimes the other light is lit, sometimes they're both lit together, and sometimes neither are lit.

I just came across this

It’s likely too much for me…

However I’m sure some of you will dig it.
The link seems to be a countdown to something, likely the release of the product

The Oxygen Destroyer mod by Lermods is so good!

*How* good, you ask?

It makes you all--

20220219_171717 (resized).jpg20220219_171717 (resized).jpg

(The marketing practically writes itself) Thanks for a great mod!

Seriously, though, I definitely recommend the Lermods oxygen destroyer.

The one thing I'd note, though, is that if you use plastic protectors under the return lane plastic, you may find (as I did) that the stock screw isn't long enough for the mod, the plastic and its protector all together.

Simple solution for me was to swap the gray spacer underneath the mounting screw for a slightly shorter one that would allow the screw to thread. (At some point I'll probably get a longer screw and put the stock spacer back in, but for now, it works!

#910 2 years ago

I've been checking for the oxygen destroyer to return in stock. There not ready yet. Can't wait to see if the code uses that shot.

#911 2 years ago
Quoted from Brainiac:

That roof mod is awesome and sharp. Why didn't Stern think of that!

Because stern is responsible for creating a product that doesn’t create ball traps or dies from airballs

People modding at home, especially with all this figures etc create problems they just accept because they did it themselves. If it was stock and failed like that they’d cry for blood

I think the oxygen destroyer looks fantastic, but it's right where I need to be looking when nudging a ball I'm about to drain, so that's the last place I want something in my line of sight! Unless it's not in the way from your playing position?

It’s sits low enough in the lane that it doesn’t block the view for nudging. As people get them installed, they can confirm, but for me at least, it doesn’t have an impact.

Very glad to hear you like it. I don’t have plastic protectors on my game, so wasn’t able to account for it. Easy enough to get a longer screw. I think it’s a #8 size. Also much of the credit goes to my friend @toyotaboy, it’s his design, we are doing the wiring to make it interactive.

Sorry, we had a second batch go up on the site earlier in the week, but it sold out quickly, more will be coming. As long as we can get parts, we will keep making them, just be patient.

#915 2 years ago

Thanks for all the kind words. I know several people were 3d modeling one of these. I've had this modeled up since before the game started production.
oxy-destroyer (resized).pngoxy-destroyer (resized).png

A lot of people can model something up, but getting it optimized for printing and assembling, scaling it to a proper size for ideal placement is the hard work. LERmods does a great job figuring out how to wire things up. We will continue to build these as quickly as we can.

So many cool mods for this game but I love this one. Makes such a big change on the pop bumper. Inexpensive and awesome. Thanks @seal16!

I realized this morning that my inventory was getting low (was down to three remaining) on the SDTM roof mod fix so I fired up all the printers and went to work. If anyone is looking to pick up a roof mod for the Prem / LE, I should have about 30 boxed up and ready to ship by tomorrow evening. I also have 11 MechaGodzilla interactive shield mods boxed up and ready to go if you are looking for one. The lens on the shield mod is also GITD and I caught the picture below after closing down my workspace for the night.
I posted the links to the two mods and I ship either same day or the following morning.
Off to update game code and check out what is new in .91!

The prem/le already has a 3D building. I suppose our lighting set up could work in the prem/le, but I don’t have one of those to test with.

Has anyone replaced their godzilla with the one holding the trains? I really wanted to do this but not sure how to light up the trains and not sure which godzilla to buy. I could probably follow directions but need some help. I can send the train files to get them 3d printed but after that I'm not sure. TIA

Should be this one:
https://www.amazon.com/DIAMOND-SELECT-TOYS-Godzilla-Classic/dp/B00H48PX94/ref=sr_1_6

If you are using the 3mm flame led's and you don't care if they are on all the time, you can power it from any existing 5v bulb.

If you want it to only light when the insert is lit, you'll need this:

That looks really amazing, especially with those speaker lights. Wow! Goes perfectly.
May I ask, is the color changing optional, by controller? ...and where is that topper getting power from (molex connector to the board in the back box, similar to other known toppers)? Thanks!

Does the topper come with the color changing lighting?

Quoted from per3per3:

As above, that's kind of what I'm curious about as well. Is there an option for color changing or can you do solid/fade options via controller? The topper itself certainly looks very cool, and goes perfectly with those speaker light addition (and especially with that additional cityscape acrylic).

#935 2 years ago

Plug it in port CN6 in backbox or CN11 to the left behind coindoor.

You can add the LED strip separately if you want.

#936 2 years ago

The topper is sold by Sparky Pinball and doesn’t come with the lighting. Mezelmods sells the lighting kits for all Sparky Pinball toppers though. The lighting has a remote control which allows a nearly infinite number of static, flashing, fading and colors. The light kit plugs directly into the power board in the back box. It’s quite an easy install.

On that website for the speaker lights, there's a separate section for "acrylics" and those skyline acrylics are there and can be added to the flame speaker lights purchase.

I haven't heard of anyone having a problem with the Flamin' Frames except you. When did I tell you it would be "several months"???

I don't have a list. You buy and wait or you don't buy. If you want them as soon as you order, you will have to wait until they are listed as IN STOCK. It's very simple and I am very clear about that on my website.

Thank you for reminding me why I should not and will no longer answer any questions about how long things might take to get delivered. I also don't appreciate you skewing things to "several months" when that is not what I said.

I didn't even hesitate to place an order earlier in the week after reading the aforementioned post. Doug, you make it clear on the site if an item is avialable or not. Some people just like to be such haters and thet can't do that very well unfortuntely when the facts are crystal clear.

I stock the topper illumination kits for all my toppers because I sell through Mezelmods, as well, and ship them together when customers order both from their website (GZ is not currently listed there, but will be soon). In my Pinside Shop, I don't list the illumination kits because they are not my product, and I don't want any confusion regarding support if something goes wrong with the lighting.

If anyone wants to order the topper and illumination kit, you can either wait for it to be listed on Mezelmods, or you can order through Pinside and send me a direct message. I can accept Paypal payment for the difference and include the kit with your topper. ($35).

If you have other newer Stern games, I make the same style topper for about 11 or 12 other games. I just noticed a couple of them are not listed in my Pinside Shop (BM66, GB, maybe a couple more).

can your lighting kit be tied into a flasher? I'm actually going to be making my own topper (with a ghidorah statue i've ordered), but i'd like to tie it in to the flashers on the game for a lightning effect.

The link below is the illumination kit from Mezelmods. I don't believe they can be tied into the flashers for voltage reasons. You might want to check with Lermods, the OP of this thread. Rob might have something that ties into the flashers.
