Awesome! All I could find was the Facebook announcement, this is much better. It looks awesome, and I'm glad they didn't strip down the pro so much this time! Very excited for this!

#3 8 years ago

Where is the poll on which game everyone will be purchasing? Who do I have to call?

#4 8 years ago

Looks awesome

#5 8 years ago

So it's looking like there are some difference in the Slings on the prem and LE. Or maybe just lights in front of them? Could they be magnetic?

Also, I asked in the other forum but it will probably get buried. Anyone else notice the fully rendered slimer and gozer? Do they usually animate the characters in 3d them Dot-ize them? That seems like a lot of effort but could maybe make for better animations. . . or evidence of a lost LCD . . .

Anyone know who the software designer will be? I'm incredibly excited seeing the playfield layout and artwork, it looks amazing! I really, really hope the software is gonna be a homerun as well.

my wife is getting pissed. Its the only thing I am looking at right now. Something about getting furniture first.

#8 8 years ago

OP you need to post some pictures. Giddy up!

#9 8 years ago

I was wondering if they'd do a green display for the LE like they did on Avengers, although that doesn't appear to be the case (doesn't matter, just a thought in my head). I green trim looks awesome!

Yeah, having them all on these first few posts would be great. I would do it but I am too busy wading through the other thread.

Thats funny, I want new furniture but the wife said wait for the kids to get older

Nice artwork on these, good job Stern.

I'm doing this from a phone so it'll take a while, but I'll try to get some pics in the OP.

Interesting. Didn't he just do GOT?

#20 8 years ago

I am just happy they have "We Came We Saw, We Kicked Its Ass" as the first wizard mode. Now if they can just have "back off man I am a scientist" as the tilt sound

#21 8 years ago

Looks awesome! If you need to sell an AC/DC Premium to fund one ... PM me.

Stern's first "Subway"

#24 8 years ago
Quoted from Barron:

Stern's first "Subway"

I think they got that when they hired Jared a year or so ago

Although actually MET Premium/LE had one, and maybe some older Sterns that I'm forgetting too.

#25 8 years ago
Quoted from Barron:

Stern's first "Subway"

i thought that was ironic.

#26 8 years ago

ah damn... Now how am I going to figure out how to afford one. Looks sweet.

#27 8 years ago

the cab and translite are nice, but the playfield art looks absolutely amazing. tremendous improvement there, kudos to Stern raising the bar. now if we could just get rid of those absurd 1990's red dots...

#28 8 years ago

Both cabs look good, but man I am partial to the pro. Very tempting machine, but couldn't justify a preorder due to stern's code commitment.

#29 8 years ago

Poll added for those who wanted one

#30 8 years ago

Oh man! Does that ramp go under the playfield then back up!

#31 8 years ago

As the rumours of this played out for months, I was "yeah, OK, whatever".

But seeing what they've done... wow! If this plays as good as it looks, Stern has winner.

Double points for basing it on the original and not the new movie.
Extra bonus points for the artwork!

#32 8 years ago
Quoted from dantebean:

It looks to feed into a ball popper. That could be pretty cool.

#33 8 years ago

Love it! Wish I could buy one!!!

#34 8 years ago

Any word on voice actors? Aykroyd? Hudson?

#35 8 years ago

I believe the custom call outs are done by Hudson.

#36 8 years ago
Quoted from dantebean:

Looks similar to Insanity Falls from Whitewater. I don't see a upkicker.

#37 8 years ago

This does look sweet. Slimmer bash toy looks fun, and I also dig the pro not looking terribly stripped down. What are the big differences between models? (Aside from the obvious trim).

#38 8 years ago
Quoted from Concretehardt:

Voices can be added as it was done for walking dead...it will be a while, though.

#39 8 years ago

The Premiums are starting to really separate themselves from the PRO's.
Certainly more going on here in a big way.

Looks terrific--better than I expected, both Pro and Premium.

It's got to have something, otherwise the game goes down if a ball gets stuck in there. Even in the home, that would be annoying. Insanity Falls in Whitewater can dribble the ball back out onto the playfield if it doesn't make it through.

Quoted from Pinball-Pat:

I counted 3 significant differences. Likely there are more.

A. The ramp system, with the short right ramp cross over.
B. The big left ramp shot tunnels under the right side of the playfield, or appears to.
C. Ecto goggles, whatever that is, missing from pro.

t's been covered. It feeds in the subway if there isn't enough momentum to make it up the second hump.

I second this question. Before I drop 8k on the LE, I would like to see the differences. Is that a price increase from the last stern offering?

The Pro right ramp is a "WWE" two way ramp. Right ramp shot goes around and comes down the left ramp. Not a fan of that at all.

Quoted from ejg10532626:

It's a Pepper's ghost effect.
Sounds pretty cool ... you'll see video of a ghost to shoot at. Passing the optos will register the hit.

The NY Metallica Subway......

Ecto & Stay Puft are Premium.

3rd art package is the Pro which has the Firehouse on the sides of the cabinet heads & the Terror Dog up front on the translite artwork.

At least we finally have confirmation that a LCD display will be delivered by Stern this year.
