Working on a Stern Flight 2000 that had the bottom segments on the credit display that weren’t working. Took it out and reflowed solder points and header pins. Put it back in the game and now player 1, player 2, and credit display show nothing. Players 3 and 4 are working. I double checked my work on the credit display and didn’t see any shorts.

Switched displays around and still get the same problem. The displays that aren't working are showing about 0 volts for the +5. Any suggestions to get this back up and running?

Unplugged players 1 and 2 along with the credit display and pin 20 was +5 on all three of them. Is this pointing to an MPU problem? What would you recommend as the next step? Thanks for the response.

Quoted from dothedoo:

If the only one you worked on was the credit display, do the others work if you take it out?

Nope. That was my first thought. Figured I shorted something out, but tried about every combination of the three (disconnected and connected) and none will work.

Something is taking the +5 away from those three displays.

Did some more troubleshooting and ended up being a bad pin on the credit display. Pin 13 (ground) was damaged in the connector. The ground isn’t doubled up on the credit display so the other displays weren’t getting ground.

Now back to troubleshooting the missing segments .
