Opened my first NIB Stern today after picking it up lastnight from Trent. I bought a Metallica that he just received this past week. I opened it up and got everything set up and ready to play. I plunged my first ball, rolled down through the pop bumpers and off the right flipper and BAM, stuck tight on the left orbit. I under stand some adjustments my be necessary but a lane guide, boo. Is this normal Stern quality out of the box?

Bounce a mechanical game around a few hundred miles and there will be lot's of stuff to adjust.

Sterns are still a WAY better out of box experience than Williams used to be.

Add in temperature/humidity changes (should be feeling a bit like summer about now in Ohio) during the move, transferring indoors/outdoors, and things happen.

But it sounds like it must have been epic anticlimax.

I remember mine doing the same thing out of the box. It was actually the cardboard backing they used behind one of the optos that was pushing the orbit ball guide out.

My Mustang was NIB and played perfect with zero adjustments out of the box. Yours should be an easy fix.

Sounds like you instantly started Saint Anger no ball mode. Good job!

im buzzing waiting for my star trek premium , i think aside from it catching fire , nothing will dampen the excitement ! minor adjustments will be part of the fun !!
