I have a new car and the size is not suitable for pin transport. I need to move GOTG and DP soon and was thinking about removing the backbox before transport. I can't find anything about this topic nor instructions on backbox removal on newer Stern pins and was wondering if removal is recommended and is it fairly easy? Unscrew two screws and remove a bunch of cables connecting to boards and the monitor - shouldn't be a problem right?

Yes it can be done and it’s not too
Difficult, but it takes some time and personally it gives me anxiety. Moving pins is worrisome enough without all that extra work. Take it slow, take plenty of pictures. You can label each wire to help. Certainly possible. You might consider whether it’s worth your time to just rent a van or truck (or find a friend with one) if you can afford it. Good luck

I think you’d be further ahead to just rent a vehicle or borrow one from a friend or family

There aren't instructions for a reason. They are not intended to be removed.

Rent a truck at Home Depot - $19 an hr. plus mileage.

Jus for info in case anyone else has issues with car space. I removed the backbox since I was traveling cross Europe and 4 countrys to pick up a gem of a game and could't rent because of the milage and number of days I needed the car. The removal was easy, 5 snap cables and 2 TP (network) cables, only the TP cables needed marking and the rest was simple enough to take a picture and just reconnect, two screws at the back of the backbox and two screws inside the cab to remove the hinge (don't loose the nylon spacer on the outside of the hinge). It was a 5min job and I have done it twice now without any issues.
