Well first it's not wax - it's quite abrasive. Usually you use it in a dull area to try to bring back some shine - it cuts into the clearcoat so you don't use it often. You can use Novus #1 on a shiny PF all you like as it's not abrasive - they even use it for clear motorcycle visors as it doesn't scratch. You can use this on expensive clearcoated guitars also
