I ordered my GB Pro on 3.8.16 and it was ready 2 months later.
GOT Pro ordered 12.8.15 and was ready 7 weeks later.

#110 7 years ago

Yeah but With Gary's death everything is up in the air

#115 7 years ago
Quoted from Trekkie1978:

Is anything on the line or are they just sitting idle?

When they showed Gary's death mask it looked like 1 dude was working on a line of GBs.

#118 7 years ago
Quoted from Eskaybee:

When I had my GOT PRO order in, they were getting pushed back.

All I heard then was issues getting PFs in...no idea whether that's true or not; just chatter.

#142 7 years ago
Quoted from PoMC:

Figures. First time I buy NIB and I can't fucking get it any time soon.

Couple months wait for sure. But I can assure you, a couple months of not playing WCS you'll live through
Try not to think aboot it much...GOT is a good one.

#155 7 years ago
Quoted from Kiwipinhead:

This forum may not be for you then

True that. If you don't have any machines to glue trinkets & Xmas tree orniments to there isn't much point in hanging around

#159 7 years ago
Quoted from Vino:

So it really is feasible that a recent order of MMr or TH will ship before MET or GB?

That would be some sweet revenge there

#168 7 years ago
Quoted from PoMC:

Any upside to the GoT delay? We really wanted to be playing soon.

No there isn't. Waiting sucks ass that's for sure. Been there done that and no fun at all.

#173 7 years ago
Quoted from clg:

Vid suggested a suicidegirls theme a while ago. On my location this game would pay for itself in weeks.

This is the smartest idea for 1 reason; everyone can agree that it will need a full JJP style LCD screen no matter what company makes it

#266 7 years ago
Quoted from DaveH:

Those themes are stale.

Uh oh...looks like we got a T4 fan over here!

#277 7 years ago
Quoted from NPO:

Nothing absolutely owns this quite like Johnny Mnemonic. Horrible movie, but man what a fast and flowing game.

Man those are both dumpster fires....they should have made a 'Hackers' movie pin instead...that thing is so bad it's good.

#293 7 years ago
Quoted from Zitt:

HACK the Planet! Hack The Planet!

If that movie comes on I cancel my plans until it's done. Why? I couldn't tell you, but it's what happens.

#391 7 years ago
Quoted from moto_cat:

What makes you think there's a high turnover @ Stern? It's my understanding that some of their employees have been with them for years.

He doesn't think...he just posts. He makes up a narrative in his thread of high turnover @ Stern and just runs with it.

#398 7 years ago
Quoted from kpg:

Considering I work with companies totaling over $10B ....

None of which are Stern...so you really don't know anything aboot them? OK we're all caught up thanks

#404 7 years ago
Quoted from kpg:

I guess you must know how Stern and its business is ran, and how their turnover rate is first-hand and have more knowledge then me on the subject.

No, I don't; Which is why I don't act like I do.

Quoted from swampfire:

It's like arguing over ice cream flavors. I hate vanilla, but it's all my friend Carl will eat. Somehow we still manage to stay friends. I just don't say "vanilla, gross!" every time we go out for ice cream. (True story BTW)

Well, you probably didn't have the vanilla dialed in. Oh wait, do you really understand the rules of vanilla? Obviously not or you'd like it. You have had vanilla ice cream at least 100 times right? Because I didn't like it at first either.

#505 7 years ago
Quoted from homebrood:

Forget about ice cream! Who's up for a Salad

Most days I'd rather eat salad then ice cream; but the current 'salad days' are anything but. I like a salad, not some lettuce in a big bowl with candied nuts and fruit...wtf?! Crazy salads out there now, goddamn kids today

#519 7 years ago
Quoted from gweempose:

thought the whole point of moving into the larger facility was so that they could pump out more games, not less. What the hell went wrong?

Pro'ly just a fuse.

#557 7 years ago
Quoted from centerflank:

I could be wrong, but I think Stern is just going to clear them.

I don't think the clear is as good on my GB as my GOT

#560 7 years ago
Quoted from srk15:

Stern is now running nine games in the past games came and went fast

Stern ran games for years.

#563 7 years ago
Quoted from srk15:

...past games had a short life span now game get run for three years

Probably depends on the license. I don't know how long ago you mean...Rarehero just mentioned FGY was run for 3 years.
They are still making Metallicas now & I bought one 2 years ago after it was out for a year.

#565 7 years ago
Quoted from The_Dude_Abides:

It's a weak excuse for all the fans and buyers out here IMO.

The real excuse will always be; why do something you don't have to?
Some may argue Stern communicating with Pinside may help them, I don't see any proof to that. People that are new Stern game junkies are just that, they are going to buy them no matter what.

#569 7 years ago
Quoted from The_Dude_Abides:

Heighway has done a great job even during tough times.

I totally disagree to each their own as always.

#576 7 years ago
Quoted from seenev:

Stern has no problem with advertising and hyping their products and brand to consumers directly through social media and events. Why is it unreasonable to expect them to communicate high level issues that ultimately affect their customers? Seems like a double standard.

No, that's called "advertising."

#587 7 years ago
Quoted from seenev:

...it's not good business, in my opinion, to constantly advertise and hype something but give no indication of its availability.

Look at all the unnecessary speculation here that could easily have been avoided with a simple statement from Stern.

Literally happens all the time in every area of advertising.

Speculation drums up excitement, sells games.

#589 7 years ago
Quoted from seenev:

And quite often backfires. Ask Palmer Lucky if he has any regrets about the way he hyped the Oculus Rift over the last few years now that they're shipping.

Here's the issue, Oculus Rift is a brand new thing...pinball is not. This happens all the time; a fresh faced poster like yourself rolls in on the Millennial train & tells us all the way it should be.
We all agree that it would be 100% better if Gary added to his Pinside thread everyday with his morning cup of joe (vodka), updating folks on the latest goings on. Well that's great, but it isn't going to happen, and you complaining aboot it on some website Gery doesn't give a shit aboot isn't going to change that.
You know what might? Hitting Gary were it counts, in the old pocket book. So just go cancel your LE order now and show Gary you won't live like this.

We'll wait....

#594 7 years ago
Quoted from cubitron:

If you saw Dead Flip's coverage of the GB LE then you would have seen why Stern would not want to associate with anonymous jibber-jabber. The chat was full of hate thrown at Stern and especially at Jody. It was truly embarrassing.

It was hilarious to me...but yeah to a company that is horrible.

#622 7 years ago
Quoted from seenev:

We can't exist stern to act like it's 2016 now. That would be unreasonable.

F&#%ing Millennials.

#638 7 years ago
Quoted from Msch:

So now this is a bash pinsiders thread

Once again Stern has turned the tables on us!

#647 7 years ago
Quoted from Max_Badazz:

I like Monopoly .... its a good pin.
If one came up locally in nice shape, I'd buy it

It's got some problems but there's some good stuff going for it.

#666 7 years ago
Quoted from PureTO:

Was that Novus 2 he was buffing the playfield with? Just caught a glimpse... But it looked like it.

Yes it's what Stern recommends.

#668 7 years ago
Quoted from PureTO:

I'll have to go back and read what is recommended for the modern Stern for regular cleaning and removing wax.

1.5 MAINTENANCE KITS
Ghostbusters Pro Maintenance Kit
• 8 oz pinball playfield wax (Novus # 2)
(675-0003-01)
• Standard Pinball (260-5000-00)
• Cleaning Cloth
• All Playfield Rubber

#672 7 years ago
Quoted from Manic:

Well first it's not wax - it's quite abrasive.

You should tell Stern who wrote that, not me.

#744 7 years ago
Quoted from o-din:

I remember when RFM came out it seemed more like a novelty, and I was hoping to see the next real pinball machine again.

I remember when RFM came out and we were all said because we knew Williams was ditching pinball

1 week later
#876 7 years ago
Quoted from vid1900:

Put $100 down. If you lose it, you won't sweat it.

And if they ask for more than that tell then to F.O. and call someone else.

#879 7 years ago
Quoted from jackofdiamonds:

But about the stupid typos on their games?what would you suggest rather than a pitchfork

Whom's got the real LE model now!

#882 7 years ago
Quoted from Trekkie1978:

I wonder how many people will notice the typo as they're playing the game.

I always forget to even look if it's wrong.

#912 7 years ago
Quoted from seenev:

Ever since I read about the GoT orbit "fix" I've had a bad feeling about problems with gb. I'm sort of glad it got delayed to the point where I just decided it wasn't worth it anymore.

I'd spend you monies on the GOT instead...better game.

#916 7 years ago
Quoted from seenev:

With the price and waiting with Stern these days, might be worthwhile to get a JJP.

Ha...funny.

#926 7 years ago
Quoted from TaylorVA:

Don't you mean buy themes not brands? Or buy themes not games?

foolish to buy a game strictly by theme

#931 7 years ago
Quoted from Msch:

Then this hobby would be in hell

Call me when it isn't.

2 weeks later
#993 7 years ago
Quoted from beelzeboob:

So you've never seen that? I LOVELOVELOVE that movie. It's Gwyneth before she lost her frickin' mind.

That movie was a classic of the time.

1 month later
#1017 7 years ago
Quoted from JonH123:

With that full of a production schedule, will there even be another game announced this year?

Perfect time to put out another soft title like Aerosmith that isn't very popular.

#1022 7 years ago
Quoted from iceman44:

Except that its a HUGE waste of talent with Borg and Lyman.

meh...lyman maybe

#1027 7 years ago
Quoted from iceman44:

Lyman "maybe" wtf. 360 Slam dunk
What are you drinking tonight Law
Ritchie is on probation with me

Ha! I didn't mean it as a dig on Lyman, of course at the top of the game. I just don't know when Borg's crank started tasting so sweet to people. Richie is just like anyone else...has good ones and bad ones. he was on probation with me till GOT so that shows how diff'rent folks feel

Oh and Miller lite...but only 4 by this time.
