You'll be fine if you went with one of the larger distro's. It's rare that what Vid was saying would happen, but it can.

I think Stern tells people not to preorder because not only what Vid said but that there are things that can cause delays that are out of Sterns control.
I paid in full, with a large distributor, from the beginning. I've had my machine for over a month and people who just put down deposit, well before I did, are still waiting.

I'm leaving away from Stern. With the price and waiting with Stern these days, might be worthwhile to get a JJP.
JJP wait is much longer and have had many more issues than any stern to date
