Well, the delays aren't from Gary's untimely death.....

Quoted from seenev:

Who said he was dead? First I've heard of it.

Me too.

I won't be waiting for my Premium. I want it yesterday, thank you very much.

Quoted from bb2j3z:

Not sure why anyone want to pay in full for a NIB game, when you have no idea it's shipping. I got in on GB Premium with Trent at Tilt, but only paid $100 to reserve one. I can opt out at any time. Also layaway is an option too.

Can't go wrong with Trent.

Quoted from vid1900:

Last July, Whites became less than 50% of the USA's population. Get used to it.

Under the age of 5, you mean. The general population won't become minority-majority until sometime around 2050.

Quoted from o-din:

Near the end of Williams pinball, having to close out machines must not have been that profitable. On the other hand their slot machine business was taking off and they had a run of very successfull machines so from a business stand point it made sense. And stock prices and profit went up ever since.

So why turn down 20M? 20M is good for the company, good for the stock price.

Unless he wanted it to die....personally.

Neil either wanted to kill Pinball personally, or his ego prevented him from selling off the division.

Either way, he's an asshole.

Quoted from Manimal:

No one can make a statement like that unless they were there, actually saw the offer on paper, and were part of the negotiations. Not in any way sticking up for the guy, but the way words are twisted, exaggerated, stomped on and re-arranged in this industry, you can never be sure of anything other than your own thoughts. I can think of several scenarios where an offer like that would be turned down, and like pinball or not, there are very few people outside of Donald Trump who would pass up that kind of scratch purely because of ego.

You'll have to come up with a viable alternative to why he wouldn't sell.

So far, I haven't heard one.

Quoted from Manimal:

Oh hell, I could guess a million things like maybe strings were attached to the sale regarding the intellectual property, maybe they wanted the building, or wanted Williams to pay for re-location, or maybe Nick wanted a taste of future sales as part of the deal. Any one of a million things could have caused the sale not to take place....happens every day in the business world.

Roger Sharpe alluded to as much in the "Tilt" documentary.....that Neil didn't want someone else to be successful with it.

Quoted from seenev:

Well this is my first time trying to buy a pin and I've been reading about all of the problems here on pinside for the last several months. I'm not exactly brimming with confidence at this point.

This happens every game.

There are issues.....Pinsiders blow them up into a Federal case.

People go on buying, life goes on.....next game comes out.

Cycle repeats.
