Segment 2 of the digits are missing, I have tried hard to fix that display following the http://www.pinwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Bally/Stern#Display_problems but no dice, getting to the point I don't want to spend the $50 for a new display just for the satisfaction of all that time meaning something...

Reflowed the pins, no change
Changed the transistor, no dice
Changed the decoder, kinda worked for a while or maybe I just dreamt it...
Changed all (8) 100K ohm 1/2 watt resistors, no change...
I try tracing what I could see for the Segement E and all seems to check out but no luck.

it's pretty much a copy/paste of the Pinwiki section, I did replace both the segment drivers and decoders, no dice :S

unsolder all but the one segment (E) that isn't working you mean?

tried that out, unsolder all but segment E and nothing was showing on the display... I am fresh out of ideas and I am thinking $50 for a new display is more reasonable at this stage.
