To me kickstarter is just a way to shift the risk from the producer to the customer. Customers take the risks of an investor without the reward or influence that regular investors require.

This is why I don't do kick starters or preorders. Once they take your money, you got nothing they need. When you got nothing they need, they could give two shits about your update.
Quoted from hool10:So you are saying I shouldn't panic after I gave $120 for a coffee table book and have not heard back from the author in months or the company that the book is based upon.
I’m saying that. It’s $120 not $12,000. Panic over $120 is just not worth it..
Quoted from jlm33:That's him? He reminds me of Kevin K...
But at least I "invested" 100x less in this book than in Skit-B!
A progress of some sort I suppose.
The first thing I thought too. Like Kevin, just looking at that photo I can tell what a lazy slacker with questionable integrity he must have.
Quoted from frolic:I would be too ashamed to post photos like that when I was 2 years behind on something. But I get than I'm an old fart and people do things different these days.
I would be too ashamed of posting a photo wearing that button down shirt with all those zipper pockets on it.
Quoted from TigerLaw:Has anyone figured out how Joe got to Stern? My guess is he’s related to someone important there, surely he didn’t just cold call his way to those endorsements they gave this project...
He probably just showed up with a third of the cash collected from the Kickstarter and said “want some free money”
Quoted from unigroove:Just caught up with this thread. I find the update of a week ago very odd as they were already in design stage of the book months ago. And then you find out you don't have all games? Sounds like a poor excuse to cover up whatever else is taking them so long.
What it sounds like is that they haven't put any real effort into the project yet.
Quoted from Manimal:Published by Heighway Publications and will be delivered by
Hydrofoil to your front door.
Unbound. Jpop will then come to your house and help you staple the pages together.
Quoted from PinMonk:Or, it will LOOK like that's what he's doing, but there will be no staples in the stapler. Only an impotent "click", "click", "click" with nothing to show for it.
Hey now, I have almost every confidence that Jpop can work a stapler.
edit: Upon receiving multiple pm's in a very short amount of time from people who had previously worked at Bally/Williams during the 1990's, I must redact my previous statement.
Quoted from seenev:Just listened. It's at the 2 hour and 20 minute mark, right before the end.
Gomez gave them a bunch of behind the scenes sketches and preliminary art from the development process to use in the book but apparently they preferred to go with art from the “brochures” that everyone has already seen. Gomez seemed a little disappointed with some of their choices.
Since Paperflock is holding everyone’s book ransom with ridiculous shipping charges, then as a group, all you backers should treat it as a kidnapping. Noone should send them any shipping money until they show “proof of life”. Demand a picture of all the printed books where they are supposedly being stored. I for one, don’t believe for a second that the books exist. We’ve seen this many times before. It would not surprise me to find out that the shipping money they are trying to extort is needed to print the books. That is best case scenario. Worst case is they just want to steal as much money as possible before pulling a Kulek.
