i find the biggest problem with failed kick starters is people completely under estimate how much work is involved in getting a r&d proof of concept product to a proper commercial project. It can be an enormous job and completely different process to creating the demo version.
But in this case its probably just pure lazyness lol

When you guys receive your book it will all be printed in uv ink so you cant see any thing BUT for $600 you can buy a super cool UV LED from Joe to unlock the book

There is no way to win here.
If you pay up you have just made them another 10k scam profit (but you get a seriously overpriced book)
Or you just leave it and lose your money but then they will just re sell your spot and still make money off you.
Either way paperFuck will win. They really fucked people over. What a vile company.

From the reply I received, I understand they changed my balance and Kickstarter themselves will handle the refund.
Usually kick started sends them cash the second they hit there goal, That's the reason this and many other kick started can be dragged out so long as they have the cash and no real incentive to complete the project in any timely fashion. If they only got the cash once the book was shipped you can bet it would of been shipped 3 years ago
