Have a LAH that the cab is pretty beat up. Have an opportunity to purchase a new stern cab and backbox. how close are they to each other? not sure which stern cabs are available but should they be close?

The answer is not close at all. Fix your lah or live with it, don't try that can of worms.

Don't know about DE but I put an Earthshaker in a new Ghostbusters cabinet with minor modifications.

It's the same internal width. It won't be plug-n-play but at the end of the day it's a wooden box.

    Stern heads are metal.

There is no mounting for a traditional style dmd speaker panel.

Doubt the dimensions are the same which might cause issues if you can get decals for lah.
Translite dimensions with an original de speaker panel in there probably not the same.

So if you want to toss the head, engineer a new head, or adapt a different head to use the modern stern head bolts then yes it is just a wooden box.
