Wow...time slips by pretty fast. I hadn't realized how long it's been since I've hung out on pinside.

Anyway, I just ordered a bunch of brass hardware from Joey to finish off my Iron Man armor, but he doesn't have brass coin door bezels. I figured I could try some gold/brass colored spray paint as a last resort, but figured I'd check here before I go that route.
Thanks!
Joe

in a topic "I want gold balls" I'd posted a simple recipe for cold flash copper plating (no electricity needed), might be easy enough and complementary to the brass. done thin and clearcoated it might stay moreso brassy looking.

Contact Gio at pinballrefinery.com. I believe he has either found someone to do these or in a post I read he recommended gold spray paint as you have mentioned. The other day I was at OSH and in the spray paint section they did have gold chrome spray paint. It might be what your looking for. Hope this helps.

I have them made. You can paint them also and it looks ok. It's not quite like plating though. About like the difference between brass colored Powdercoat and brass plating.

Contact me via PM if you want a set. Because they are produced in small increments. They are not cheap...

I think pinball dreams sells brass and chrome coin doors, about 500 bucks thou, a little pricey for me personally

Joe had all the armor on his Iron Man Powdercoated with Lollipop red 2 stage, so it's like a candy color with metal flake. He is looking to finish off all the smaller parts with brass plated parts. He has the feet and coin door bolts and leg bolts, but needs to finish it off by having the plastic parts on his coin door either plated or painted. (the coin inserts and coin returns)

I'll be running more in the next two weeks. Contact me if you'd like me to run extras

PM sent. Thanks for all the info guys! I think the plan of attack will be to hit Michaels today and pick up some gold spray paint. If I'm not happy with the results, I'll bite the bullet and get the brass ones.

Your not going to be happy with the spray paint. Go with the plated pieces.

The spray paint turned out surprisingly well. I mean, like REALLY well. I was really only giving it a shot to give me something to do this afternoon, but I'm really happy with the results. Check it out…
