Don't like the term "bash" but I've been a critic since they had a monopoly on tables (2000-15ish).
Some say they kept pinball alive but to me it always felt more like life support. They basically rolled out the Data East pinball machine for a decade with zero innovations and brain washed the community into accepting incomplete software packages until it became the norm. They lowered the bar repeatedly with all kinds of removals. They greedily seized on the LE idea, mods, toppers. They have the highest replacement costs on parts.
When the greatest pinball factory the world has ever seen was producing games ,Data East and others were considered second rate compared to Bally/Williams.
Take away the greatest pinball manufacture, and what's left, second rate Data East tables.
Now new guys, say last ten years or so have nothing to compare their new Sterns to so they get pissed when I make these types of comparisons, but for my experience it's true.
They've made a hand full of good games, but mostly B and C titles.Just like Data east.
Sorry but this is an honest opinion. Not a bash.
