Was talking to a sales rep at the ABT Electronics Store (Electronics megastore and Stern dealer in Glenview, IL) and they let it slip that Stern may be releasing a Back to Future and Harry Potter pinball machines in 2022. Anyone else hear this?

BTF has been rumored, but I wouldnt hold my breath on HP. Rowling doesnt want her brand to be associated with bars and “gambling”. Some people still think pinball is the devil. And… they might be right given how addicting it can be.
Kamikow commented on it a couple of years back.

If Harry Potter comes nothing will get in my way of obtaining an LE. Shit they can make 500 LEs for each house totaling 2000. Please jebus let it happen
BTTf = most overrated theme in the history of pinball. Game takes place in a suburb, there is no atmosphere. There are no greater than life villains/creatures/etc. I just don’t see it working that well.

If they go the Indy route and do The Pinball Adventure encompassing all three BTTF movies, there's a LOT that Stern could do with it. Time travel, avoid the terrorists, Doc's Lab, Enchantment Under the Sea, Biff's Casino (like Whodunnit with slots, etc?), Wild West, Mr Fusion madness, Van Halen Eruption intermission. Lots of content and inspiration points for a pin.
But personally, with the addition of magic, Harry Potter would have even MORE possibilities. Here's hoping Stern doesn't really have it and JJP does. They're the rightful place for HP to do it justice.
BTTF is an awesome theme - 3rd best in pinball in my opinion, after Star Wars and Indiana Jones...but you can only do it justice if you have unlimited access to all the assets....otherwise, don't bother.
Harry Potter....a dream theme for pre-teens, but for hairy old men....getthefuckoutahere.
Quoted from Captain_Howdy:Both would be 100% awesome,
But i think JJP should do em
I would have agreed with you before the play field chipping/pooling fiasco on GNR and JJP’s horrendous customer service. Now I don’t care how great a theme they get I’ll NEVER buy another JJP game. So I’m hoping one of the other manufacturers gets these licenses.

Sometimes u guys make me so sad.
I mean what the hell is going here. Do any of these themes really trump Mad Max, Robocop, Blade Runner, a proper Predator pin? Help me understand. This is why we get these childish, shitty themes with cartoon characters and amusement park like sound tracks. Then when something decent comes along like Stern Godzilla they ruin with the over colourful art and terrible music. Man do I wish this hobby wasn't dominated by comic book reading dorks.

They are all great titles. Just how it is mixed up, put down and presented to us in pinball form .

Is anyone saying that? I know I'm not.

Just acknowledging Harry Potter as anything other than a shit theme means u kinda are. I get it and need to vent my frustration sometimes at the fuckface themes we get, and that many enjoy so we continue to get but what else is new. Superheros, cartoons, kiddie style art and music and toys, it stinks. I guess there's Alien but that's needs more time to mature before I'd try a boutique pin again.

Any theme with magic has potential. Any. Theme.
But yeah, I'm down for the other ones you mentioned, too. Someone's already doing a pretty rad Mad Max homebrew, so I say get cracking on your Robocop (AGAIN, been done once already) or Blade Runner homebrew. Put some sweat equity into your argument.

Burt Wonderstone pending….

Magic AND comedy? An embarrassment of riches to choose from...
Quoted from EricHadley:I heard My Little Pony and Hello Kitty are both for sure in 2022
So Shrek/Family Guy, Halloween/Ultraman reskin duo release? Or maybe Hello, My Little Pony Kitty?
Quoted from starfighter:BTTF is a lock in 2022.
Believe it.
I've heard it from three separate sources in the know that I personally trust.
Your conversation with them after 2022 ends should be interesting.

Who designs it? Who's coding it?

Rumor is Borg. My hope is Dwight codes it as he is really good at creating special moments in his games.

Did you not see the mnpinball post? That guy is about as solid as I've ever seen when it comes to predictions of upcoming games.

Bttf sounds ok, but others are for kids, and last I checked, they ain’t plopping down 10 large on anything. Toy Story? Wtf? Sure Man-child, giggle away.
Meanwhile I’ll be playing HWN, TWD, IJ, TZ, JD, MM, CCr, and waiting for adult themes at, you guys know, Mr. Clean knows…the adults table. Hell yeah brother.
And hurry the fuck up with Jaws. AP, get on it!
Quoted from PinMonk:Any theme with magic has potential. Any. Theme
Nope. I'll just leave u with this.

Sounds cool but how about pricing? 9k msrp on Godzilla premium is nuts. EHOH was probably my last nib.
Quoted from Bmanpin:He's nailed most of the releases prior to them being released.
Oh nice...and so his prediction is NO on bttf, correct?
