I have an Avengers Pro that needs a CPU board. Does anyone know if my 520-5246-00 from Spiderman works with an Avengers Pro?

Curious as why it needs a CPU board. Stern manuals list 520-5246-02 for CPU (V2.0 boot chip) and 520-5249-00 for I/O
I read the pinwiki, but can anyone confirm these two boards are completely incompatible?
520-5246-02 will not work on early games (WPT to Tron) ?
520-5246-00 will not work on late pro games (Avengers Pro) ?
Is there any way to modify 00 to work as a 02?
Stern SAM boards seem to have way to many small variations.
