I bought my S.A.M. shaker direct from Stern last December and they sent me the SPIKE kit instead (LOL). That sounded like my kit when I arrived minus the capacitor?. Attached is the photo of the unopened SPIKE portion as they had to send me the S.A.M. boards I needed. The cover for the motor is just plastic. I can deep dive into mine if you like... Post some photos of what you got? I also remember I had to readjust my set screws on the weights because one side was loose. So check your weights! Should be one on either side.
