I'm in Utah, my distributor is on the east coast. I got the email yesterday that my SWLE should ship out today.
On a side note, I unboxed my AFMLE on Friday. So far enjoying August of 2017
I've been following this thread a little, and have to say I am really excited for this game. I can't wait to turn it On and hear the music, see the video clips, watch the ball fly around the hyper loop, and spend tons more adding a shaker, nonglare glass, etc...
Quoted from Rolls-Royce:Sounds excellent! I ordered today my AFM L.E.(green ) and I'm actually waiting for my SWLE too...my distributor told me that Attack From Mars will be here in Canada mid/late September.
Cheers!
I got my AFM LE last Friday, I switched from black to green. You are going to love it! The light show is amazing!!
Star Wars LE is shipped and will be here soon
My LE should be here soon. I've read a few posts that might help the game play better. I'll play it as-is first, but let me know if there are any other suggestions, here's what I remember:
Tattooing coil power set to 15.
Flippers to soft.
Scoop ser to 30.
Confirm. Sweet code .87
Quoted from CheapTrick33:LOL.... Your "The Big Dog" the dog house should be plenty big enough for you and 2 new machines!!!
Ha! That is a great idea...
Can anyone help explain what the "cpu mounted line out audio connector" looks like? And what kind of cable I would need to hook it up to an external sound bar with sub woofer? I'm looking at the CPU board now and not sure...
Thx!
Quoted from kermit24:I expected to see a 3.5mm audio jack, as that is what the manual states. But it looks like Stern is going to be selling a headphone jack type accessory. There is a small three pin plug in the MPU board that goes nowhere currently. Stay tuned.
Thanks for the heads up. I was surprised to not see one, but thought it might be something like that.
I thought I's add a little update now that I have had my LE for about a week. First let me say that I didn't know Stern could still make a game this awesome (love my LOTR), the game totally rocks. My son was out of town last week and got to play it with me for the first time all day yesterday, he said it is now his favorite pin we have (I have some good ones). He loves the fact that its an adventure with different strategy's like a lot of video games he plays (he is 16 for the record).
The positives:
The music and the video clips (have .89 code) are awesome. They completely bring you into the star wars world. I love the random clips even during attract mode. Ironically the one time I got my wife to play (she's too busy with tennis), the sound cut out after we each played our first ball. It was a panic moment and i didn't want to kill the game because I had a good score on ball 1. The game felt a lot different without the music, but what game wouldn't. Luckily it came back after restarting it (has anyone else had this happen?).
The artwork is so much better than I was expecting. We had an unboxing party with some other pinball fanatics, and they all agreed. Definite thumbs up here.
Gameplay is fast, and very quick ball times until you get used to a couple shots. Death star shot isn't as tough as what I was hearing people say. The plunger shot that banks off the targets and drains down the left outlane is killing me, even with the post moved in....
The hyper loop completely makes the game. I actually feel sorry for anyone who doesn't have it. I can't make an argument for the LE over the premium, especially since I like the transit for the premium better anyway. And the black armor on the LE is nice, but I could do a better, and more custom powder coating on my own.
Cons:
I would only say the things the game should have come with, especially being an LE, but didn't.
I added a shaker motor, definitely worth it. Also added the non-glare glass and under cabinet lights (blue), both awesome. Waiting for pingraphics to make powerbladz for this game. And I'll wait and see on the R2D2 topper, I usually custom make my own off of a model.
Overall big thumbs up, and if you like star wars . . . a must game!!
I would also recommend changing your ball save time to 10 seconds, once you get control of the plunger shot, its all good.
I forgot to comment on the light show, absolutely amazing. Great utilization of color during different parts of the game, definitely contributes to the feel of Star Wars. And the tie fighter button is a lot of fun. Its a risk/reward, especially when your friend thinks he's helping by reaching across to hit it for you, and taking out any visual you have of the flippers
Why is everyone so worried about who will like it, and who won't? Anyone who plays the game, unless they despise the star wars theme, is going to love it. It's expensive, so owning it might not be for everyone, but if you get the chance give it a few quarters (dollars), the music alone will be worth it.
And another update, I talked to David at Stern (tech support) about the sound problem I mentioned above. Long story short, they are taking care of it. Great tech support IMO.
Had the game for over a week now, really enjoying the shots and modes. Can someone help me understand the multipliers now? Sorry if its already been discussed in detail, but there are a lot of notes to go through in this thread. Also, I've played the "escape from Boba Fett", but not sure how to start it?
Thanks!!
Quoted from SilverballNut:The tie fighter bashing is a great little mode for us. So many times you are bashing it and trying to concentrate on not losing the ball. You can get to where you bash with left hand, because the ball is going to the right flipper, flip and start bashing with right hand because the ball is going to come towards the left. It's great poking fun at your opponent (my wife usually) when you forget to flip because you're smashing.
I think it'd be boring as a stand alone captured ball moment, but fun as it is. You can choose to just not kill the tie fighters with button mashing, but makes the tie fighter multiball much harder to get to.
I have the premium and we played the heck out of it all weekend. That hyperloop is just a rush. I finally got multiple balls in it, and they are flying around so fast and it's loud and insane.
I think more important than the actual hyperloop is the fork ramp going to it. That shot is more difficult than the shot on the pro, but so much more fun when you hit it well. It adds extra complexity to those modes and that shot. Instead of just being another loop, there is more to it (it is still a loop at times).
As for the cost increase, that's harder. There is a lot of metal and magnets in that hyperloop so a little understandable. I had decided early on before I saw the games I would want an LE, but I couldn't justify that price. I went with the premium and plan on putting on custom powder or chrome. I didn't give a lot of thought to the pro because it's SW and will be at our place for a very long time so the difference to me is less when you think about it being a more permanent fixture.
I think both the pro and premium/le are great, but I wouldn't go back to a pro after playing the premium almost non stop since we got it.
I completely agree with this.
Quoted from jar155:At the same time, I can see why people would really like it. I can understand that side, which is why it's bumming me out that I can't click with it so far. But hey, games I thought much less of ended up being stuff I liked, so there's hope.
Hey, I’m your neighbor not so far away. My son and I, it’s all we play now (SWLE); and I think you know I have some good games. If you really want it to grow on you, and I guarantee it will, come down and play mine sometime. I want to play some of your games anyway
Quoted from Rob_G:I backhand the Death Star ramp all the time with the ball resting, and sometimes even rolling (depending on roll speed).
Rob
I’ve made the left flipper backhand shot from rest too, maybe only 20% of the time though. Unfortunately, that’s probably as often as I’m successful with the right flipper hitting the Death Star shot too.
Ugh. My ramp forks just started sticking up a little and trapping the ball, seems like it just happens during a hurry up. I have about 50 plays with update 0.92. Do I keep playing? Wait for another update?
Quoted from dnapac:I posted these pics in another thread. 1st is original, 2nd is new. Notice center right the burn on the board. That's the 9D board.
What’s the 9D board? Is that related to the fork ramp? I’m at work so I can’t reference my machine.
