LE surely is way to go?
Unlike Aero LE, this really has big features - hyper ramp and exploding death star.
LE will sell out.
Quoted from unigroove:Asked for hi-res pics. They will be released 6/6. The Pro sideart reminds me a bit of the Firepower backglass (or am I confusing it with Global Warfare?).
So, this was an accidental early leak?
Quoted from Sinestro:Definitive opinions....for looking at a few grainy photos.
Yup, difficult to even read the inserts....

Despite all the comments about so so art, unfinished codes, qc issues etc, I just think when a video is released, the LE's will sell fast and perception will shift fast!
And as with every game, code will be the defining factor and who knows when we will know what that will like when it's polished and finished
Not long to the proper reveal
Wouldn't it be great if Stern 'showed' they care about code by releasing the long rumored KISS update
It would help allay concerns that some games just get abandoned.
Quoted from Pinhead1982:Starwars pinball at ElectroCoin in London! Tomorrow...
I'm there!
http://www.electrocoin.com/open_day.php
Wow, wasn't expecting that!!!!!
Quoted from frolic:Probably why the "release day" was scheduled June 6.
Problem is, unless the official Stern video assets are awesome (usually there's none), we're stuck with cell phone camera footage from a show once again as our first look at a new game.
Stern should get their video out today!
Pinside is going to explode later today
Quoted from Damonator:No real backglass on the LE, but the matrix states:
Limited Edition includes all 3 original themed translites featuring hand-drawn art
That is a huge miss for the LE.
RZ has a real backglass.
Hyperdrive ramp does sound awesome though.
Do like the look of the LE.
Shame the pro doesn't have wireform ramps - just don't like the plastic ones on it at all.
I have a feeling the game is going to be an awesome player though.
Still early days, but once the dust settles and despite various disappointments, I suspect the immersion is going to be awesome and more people are going to want the game than they do now!
Quoted from kermit24:Lowest cost of goods? Maybe, but look at the underside of a Rob Zombie or a Jetsons playfield. Both of these cost more than a Stern pro and don't have equal mechs / features of a Stern Aerosmith or Star Wars. Not even close. I like Spooky a lot, and understand they don't have a the scale of Stern, but Stern is really the only game in town at that price point. 85+% market share.
Yeah but the powder coating on RZ is top quality.
And the real backglass is light years better than a Stern translite.
But AS Pro is the best value pin by a mile at the moment.
Quoted from TigerLaw:Stern returned to a real backglass on AS? I had no idea. That's awesome. Will ST LE have a real backglass as well or just the mirrored ink translight?
No, you get 3 translites with the LE.
I do think Stern have got the size of the new screen right. Very crisp, sharp but still room for artwork.
And the newer Stern's are just a ton of fun to play.
I wish they hadn't dropped the ball on code updates though.
It might not be hurting them now but when times get tough, it will come back and bite them.
Pro is going to kill it on location.
Despite all the issues Stern has ( QC and where are the code updates ) , they are by far still the number 1 game in town
Quoted from DerRoland:What you mean?
SW premium / LE manual first page:
"Each pinball machine has unique characteristics that make it a one-of-a-kind American made product. Each will have variations in appearance resulting from differences in the machine’s particular wood parts, individual printed art and mechanical assemblies. No playfield is perfectly flat and varies depending on the season. Game play willresult in playfield dimpling as the harder steel ball contacts the wood and coating; over time multiple dimples will blend to make them less noticeable. Normal plastic insert crazing (tiny stress cracks) and ghosting (small cloudy areas around insert edges) are often seen in pinball machines, due to a combination of plastic mold stress, pushing of inserts into purposely undersized holes, and heating and breaking of inserts’ plastic “skin” when the playfield field is sanded."

So, it's like playing the lottery - you might get a decent p/f or you might not. But, you are now going to be stuck with ghosting if you are unlucky.
More reason to WAIT, buy a HUO a year down the line and then you can check the QC and by then the code MAY be finished.
Quoted from TimberOne:Anyone notice how loud the fan is in the backbox? Mine kicks on even when the game is idle.
I am also getting the right flipper error. Is that legit or something with the code?
Going to replace my Spike fan with quieter - doesn't seem too difficult to do. Can't leave the game on in a row of pins when that thing kicks off!
Now played LE and Pro.
Pretty shocked that I think pro looks better and plays better, smoother.
Going to wait for completed code and if finished and if polished, could see myself getting a pro.
Yes, it is toyless more or less but it was fast and fun, even though I really don't understand the code yet.
