were gonna be needing this soon.

Quoted from drummermike:

Glad I put deposit on Houdini and did not wait for this.

and some stern dealers asking full payment for le's when officially announced

#1088 6 years ago
Quoted from scarybeard:

I'll not be buying this table, but for those that are, there's a Revel 1/72 scale (thats BIG) Millennium Falcon model that would make an incredible topper for this machine. You could integrate LEDs inside it as well. I have one in the closet waiting to be built. Maybe I'll end up selling it as a topper next year.

ebay.com link: itm

had 4 of these sold off one the other day fetched 450.00

Quoted from guyincognito:

Just played a very nice Cirqus Voltaire tonight and a Mideval Madness original right next to a premium BM66. Wow, what a difference in quality and overall value between the old BW classics and the new cookie cutter Sterns. I can't see Star Wars being any different. Who really cares about a couple of cheap LCD screens when there's obvious cost cutting measures on the playfield and unfinished code?

give me the old style display and a better pin. i think stern is focusing on the color display to make the game experience better. frankly they dont have the coding/coders to do this. this color display might not be a great thing for stern after all.

if stern was reading the forums, kiss code would have been updated.
star wars will play well but also be months and months for code updates
just remember that steve hasnt done a pin with color dmd. remember the looping joker on bm 66? i dont expect a well coded pin at release due to the color dmd.
star wars art is a let down for me. hope it plays good.

before you plunge you pick your city
for example tatooine, naboo, mos eisley, cloud city or ewok village.
the cities do nothing except make a shout-out sound for you after the plunge.

this will be awesome!!!

#2321 6 years ago
Quoted from knockerlover:

Made the deposit on an LE.

see ya on the wheres the code thread!

#2464 6 years ago

i was very interested in star wars le even after kiss code debacle and gb le ghosting. love star wars, got an email asking for payment in full for star wars le because of the "very high demand"
i am out, not gonna pay in full and all the issues with stern, star wars woulda had to been absolutely amazing for me to buy.

Quoted from xTheBlackKnightx:

This will provide some additional consumer assistance, as there is no $3K difference in comparison of photos.
It is useful to pay attention to the industry and understand what is offered.
Retail prices slightly vary, and are not listed for a reason, as I am not promoting any specific distributor.
However, variances between the cost of titles below MSRP is marginal at the present moment.
MSRP Prices:
Dialed In™ Pinball Standard Edition $8,000.00
Dialed In™ Pinball Limited Edition $9,000
Star Wars Limited Edition $8,999
Star Wars Premium Edition $7,899
The game playfields shown are the Stern SWLE and JJP DILE.
There is exactly a $1 difference between Limited Editions, this is not the collector edition.
There are no released authorized photos of the DICE at the present moment, and the details of what will be contained remains unclear.
There is a less than $200 difference between the Premium (SW) and Standard (DI) editions of both games.

and as much as i hate that cell phone dude and dialed in theme i would buy one before star wars and i love the star wars theme.
stern phoned it in with starwars. dialed in seems to have a ton of more stuff going on and its got friggin drones on the playfield that the propellers spin! the tie fighter sits on a frigging spring wtf?!!!

#3062 6 years ago
Quoted from radium:

Am I the only one that is just sick of Star Wars? I was the biggest SW nerd but it's just done to death.

really and that pos death star with a big hole that you can fly ships right thru the core and blow the shit outa it!

george lucas is actually helping with the coding, he also helped assemble the first le.

many of you forget, this is not a old dmd game. i think it takes a ton more work to edit videos and audio and make a game with the new color dmd. this is why i think bm66 code taking so long. i dont expect a good code on release just my .02 cents worth

#3959 6 years ago
Quoted from jar155:

Clipping video is much easier than creating dot art. It is way faster.

so bm 66 shoulda been finished by now?

#4490 6 years ago
Quoted from colonel_caverne:

playfield issues, slimmer issue, monster drains issues (outlanes and between the flippers), balls jumps over inlanes, drops targets issues..you still don't understand why some people can hate it or you don't want anyone hates the pin you own?
and at the end, does it really matter?

a nib pin and after unpacking noticing 2 different side rails, ghosted inserts, loose pieces, crazy airballs, shooter lane clear tearing off after every plunge.
but that wont happen to starwars, no way

bottom of sw playfield

#5367 6 years ago

well i have to say i just came home from rock fantasy after playing star wars 3 times and watching like 10 plays.
the playfield looks much better in person,
the way the speaker panel tilts on a hinge now was pretty nice and much better than the old way. the bottom of the playfield was much more packed than i would have expected. the tie fighter on the spring to me will get old pretty fast. game plays fast with some great sound and pretty cool lighting. i only played it 3 times 2.00 for 3 plays, that was enough for me.
if your into the new pins- as, bm66 you will like this one alot.

Quoted from bigd1979:

Not a big deal imo but figured some may be interested......

big fn deal to me, thats just unacceptable!

#5839 6 years ago
Quoted from bigd1979:

Not mine ,was posted on a fb pinball page. Just thoght id pass the info...again i wldnt worry about it bc stern will fix it if there is a issue.

stern wont replace a playfield with just a few ghosting inserts.

#6208 6 years ago
Quoted from John_I:

Dimpling is normal on all modern machines. My AFM and MM were solid dimples from top to bottom of the playfield. Ghosting on the other hand is fairly rare. If you get a playfield with a ton of ghosting like on GB, I would bet $100 that Stern will still replace that. This is just to cover them from someone wanting a new playfield for the slightest blemishes.

i bet you they say "please read the warranty, ghosting is normal"

#6395 6 years ago

alot of hype on the le hyper loop!
not worth the extra cash.
sw could have been so awesome, its just another average pin.

#6971 6 years ago

forget about stern toppers they are just crap. another money grab by them,
they cant even make a decent topper.

#6989 6 years ago
Quoted from Chambahz:

well they are a "for profit" organization, so yeah... It's a money grab! (Duh!)
While I'm not much of a topper guy, I think Stern is doing a decent job on toppers.
I hated the one for Ghostbusters, but I liked the TWD zombie tank (wish it was bigger though. Like as wide as the top of the pin), and REALLY like what they did with Aerosmith, though not enough to buy 1 (not yet, anyway).
So I'm hopeful for StarWars, but I don't have money saved for it yet, if you know what I'm sayin.

the wd one was nice but it never did interact with the game as promised,
gb topper was shit the lighting was crap
i wanted to put an axe to it when i got it and sent it back to gary!
