If they didn't have the freedom from Disney, why would you stick to making something average. With the last few releases Stern has been making some nice games, this seems to be a step backwards. With the amount of rumored titles Stern has in the pipeline why didn't they just jump on to another title and that would give time for them to negotiate more with Disney to try and get something better happening? As now as Stern probably predicted instead of people talking about the game and the hype, everyone is focused on how average the art work is which is what everyone first sees. It doesn't really help that their isn't good footage out there showing the machine which allows people to judge the game more based on the gameplay.
