I'm likely going to break my own rules and buy a first run premium. It's way too early to cast judgment on the game for me. Art package doesn't bother me, game play, interaction, sound and lights are key for me. You know the game will have great flow. Since Lucas is heavily involved (they actually did the release yesterday) I'm going to assume the game will have genuine actor callouts, unlike twd.

What I am a little disappointed about is the sparse playfield, like bm66, and the lack of obvious innovation. Stern always seems to be a step or two behind jjp.

Like others have mentioned, game play that somehow ties into "the force" could be really cool. I agree that a hologram from r2d2 should have been included, maybe it will.

I'll have to see where this drops out price wise, but if I can get a premium with a low to mid 6 handle, I'll bite. 7 handle is out and I'll go for DI.

Quoted from sd_tom:

Why would you do that at this point??? Given gb clear coat, cabinets cracking, and that premiums are unlimited.. why would you "break your own rule" ? I can semi understand for LE but not premium..

Leap of faith that this game won't see those same issues and, like GOt, code will be further along at release. I also have a great distro that I'm confident would go to bat for me. We will see, I haven't put any money down yet.

I bought a met pro back in November that was made that same month, zero issues.

I'm in on a pro, order placed today with Cointaker...looks like it will be a fun game.

#2348 6 years ago
Quoted from timballs:

Update: This was mainly an industry event. Gary Stern was there himself to show off the game and prohibited him from taking any footage. Levi got to play a few games on it at least and Gary had him show off a bit for the other folks who were there. We have 0 gameplay footage but a couple of pics and features that we can discuss about the games.

So stern is now taking orders and selling the game, but won't let any videos be taken at an industry event? makes sense to me.

#2371 6 years ago

Sorry if this was answered already, but are there real actor callouts in the game?

That sucks! Any USA based shows coming up that it will be at? Assuming it is too late for Southern Fried in Atlanta this weekend?

Pintastic?

I just got the call the my pro is ready to ship.

#4274 6 years ago

Unfortunately, I don't know when I'll get it, may not be until week of July 10 as we are heading to pintastic on Wednesday morning. I kind of like the ring of Lermods kanobi....or maybe Luke Lermods.

I haven't followed this thread much, too hard to keep up.

Death Stars are an issue?

#4366 6 years ago

Mine is ready to ship, will get it week of the10th since I'll be at pintastic next week.

The pro is a way better value. You are paying $1500-$2k more for what? The game play of the pro is very good.

#5746 6 years ago
Quoted from Eskaybee:

They both kick back which is awesome in itself. But the pro has a captive hold post which takes a fast tough shot and makes it feel so good to hit.
I'll say this once cause I like you stay away from GOT PREM. The upper pf needs code work badly. Plus the stark ramp sucks. The Stark ramp on the pro is so fast and so good and Martel plus Stark Shot combos are bad ass.
I'm not concerned too much about SW and GOT being in the same lineup for me. Reason being is I love GOT every time I play. So why not buy games that appeal to me in that manner?
Something that is very over looked about GOT PRO and SW Pro is the code. Yes the game seems stripped back compared to others and shots appear to be limited. But in fact, each shot is coded so well that there is so many different meanings and reasons to hit it. The code gives a shot a different feeling in one mode from the next. Most pins have a ramp that counts for 3 or 4 different rules, GOT uses each of its shots for 7-8+ different aspects of the game. If SW is anything near that, hell yes I want one!

This is exactly right and how I feel about. The code makes you forget about the sparse layout, there is a lot going on.

Finly broke through on the game. Factory settings. Had a 600 mil bonus on one ball and hit a few 60 mil tie fighter hurry ups. Really an incredible rush playing this game. Simiar to iron man only better as there is a lot more going on. Game awarded me a couple of extra balls.

Quoted from GorillaBiscuits:

I have three ghosted inserts and counting. A new one appears every other day... game arrived in perfect shape w/ July 12 build date. Started with extra ball, then on to Death Star, and now it showed up on the tattooine hot dog insert. I'm super bummed about it as I otherwise love the game. Have not reported to my distro yet, so I have no idea if this falls into Sterns new "normal" disclaimer. Will find out next week I guess *sigh*

Ugh, sorry to hear. My game was built around the same time, still nothing showing up on it.

Quoted from Phbooms:

just downloaded .89 code but sorta hesitant to put on game until they release the code notes.

where do you see 0.89? I only see 0.87 on the pro site and nothing for the prem/LE.

Quoted from japespin:

PRO owners: Do you regret not spending the extra cash for the Premium?

No

#7231 6 years ago
Quoted from Darscot:

I felt the exact same way, no idea what I was meant to be doing. The game is in desperate need of a tutorial, then again if its that complicated you need a tutorial, its already failed. At the very least it needs some callouts.

That's a big issue I think, no callouts and the game is so fast you can't look up at the screen to know what to shoot. Inserts flashing different colors, hard to follow. Still, I find myself pushing the start button quite a bit.
