My first impression of the playfield was that it looks boring. After taking more time to look at it closer, I am really starting to like it. I hope it plays well. Anyone know if there will be a physical ball lock?

Quoted from chuckcasey:There were be quite a few SW Pros at the Marco booth at Cal Extreme on July 29th. Will this be the the PRO's first public appearance?
I bet they have one at the Coin Taker booth at ReplayFX that same weekend.
Would be cool if the Premium/LE would add the magnet in front of the LCD target bank back like in the original sketches.
Quoted from konghusker:There was a magnet originally? Is there a copy of these sketches anywhere? That would be cool with a magnet.
Looks like a magnet on the original sketch on the left.

Quoted from Pimp77:$2k for a ball zipping around a loop above the pf with no interactivity to actual gameplay? No, not even close to worth it. I can tell you that right now.
The more I see the playfield pictures, the more I am starting to agree with this. I hope the hyperdrive loop does more than we think, though. It also looks like it may block a lot of the inserts for the scoop.
I do like the return to shooter lane gate though.
On the Permium/LE, anyone know what exactly that part of the hyperloop ramp on the top right of the playfield where it exits from behind the backboard (with the "V" shape) is? Could that be a lift-up type ball stop of some kind for a physical lock? That would be cool.
Or maybe there is a physical ball lock behind the backboard.
Quoted from chuckwurt:No physical ball locks. Hyper loop is used and can store multiple balls looping but that's it.
Shame.
Seems odd to have balls looping around the playfield repeatedly while you're trying to play the game.
A physical lock would be sweet... then shoot the balls through the loop when you start a "Death Star destruction" sequence. Or a "Death Star Destruction Multiball" sequence.
Or maybe have them also go in the opposite direction in the loop when you start an "escape from the Death Star" sequence.
Quoted from Hazoff:basically all the great Arnold action films would make fantastic pins, Total Recall, The Running Man, Terminator the first and best of the bunch, Commando, Predator now theres a wall of pins I could be proud of.
I would be first in line for Running Man Pinball.
Quoted from Jodester:Dead_flip video gives me hope this may be fun. It looks fast as hell...still on fence between this and Aerosmith.
I agree and I'm in the same boat with regards to those two games. I need to see what that hyperloop can do.
Quoted from LOTR_breath:I've played about 25 games on a Pro on location now. The OP has lowered the Tatooine scoop power so that it's a gentle feed to the right flipper. Works great.
I have to say this game plays great. There are some great rules involving the lock down button. Like HOLDING in the button during MB when it's orange to add-a-ball. Creates a really interesting aspect of when to do it because your gonna have your hand off the flipper button for several seconds. Same thing with the Tie-fighter hurry ups. Button mashing while the ball is in play - even in multiball - is awesome! You have to try to do it strategically cause you know your hand is gonna be off the flipper buttons. It's a great addition to the game. I hear a lot of "stupid button mashing" or "I wanna play pinball, not mash a button as fast as I can". BUT, you do this while you are trying to control the ball. It's great!
The multipliers take a little getting used to, but once you get used to how it works it really ramps up the concentration level to do well in the game. Like "Oh, there's that dreaded sound letting me know the multiplier timer is about to run out. Do I take a pot shot at the dangerous stand-ups to reset the timer, or just cash in one more 15-20x shot"? I had a single shot with 40X that was about 350M. What a rush!
The numerous skill shots are great. Do I take Enable Tatooine modes cause I'm just terrible at that shot, Or do I take +5 Tie Fighters cause I'm on 3rd ball and getting really close to Tie-Fighter MB? Or +3 Bonus X, or +3x Multipliers? Oh yeah, I'm gonna take 5% of my score because I'm at 1.5 billion already. Nothing like plunging the ball for 75 million!
What an awesome game!
Man, I would love to see a Prem/LE in action or, better yet, get to play one. I'm in the market for a new pin and I'm really on the fence between this and AS Prem. And I have little patience when there is an empty spot in my basement just calling out to put a new pin there.
Quoted from Rob_G:Just in case anyone missed it, 3 balls in the hyperloop during the dead flip stream.

So it does act as a ball lock? Or am I missing something?
Quoted from TheLaw:Not a lock...a holding center you could say during it's MB.
Oh, during MB it was running multiple balls through the loop. I had to watch it with the sound off so I was a bit lost. Thanks!
