I figured after 11k posts, what everyone was looking for was another opinion based on no info.

I was disappointed with the reveal, mostly because I felt the pro looks too familiar and I really don't like the hyperdrive running that close to the flippers. I am 99% sure it is going to be fun, and I will love playing it. But at reveal I am asking myself "Self, do I need to call my distributor and order an LE?" Here the answer is no, I can wait and see in a year or so.

I refuse to judge the art too harshly until I can see the detail. The back to back composition on the backglass and playfield does seem strange to me. It have a struzanian feel, but it remains to see if it has that spark Struzan creates. I am no art expert, but I think the magic in Drew's work is in the eyes. The composition, along with the gazes and spark of life in the eyes draws me in. That is the difference between a Drew Struzan poster and one that is just a collage of random faces. I also think that Struzan-like compositions tend to be busier than Struzan's pieces themselves.

Quoted from bigdaddy07:

Maybe it will be like STTNG where you can just opt for a fixed sum of points if you don't want to play it.

I was assuming that was like stormtrooper shootout and many other awesome (?) DE hurry up video modes.

Quoted from pinmister:

Mabye all of the attention went into the new LCD on playfield

Playfield LCD is just a rehash of the smash hit WWELE

Quoted from Aurich:

Obviously it was all done over stock photos, but was still done by hand, not a "insert photo, click filter, done".

I am sure you are correct here, but it is not beyond the realm of possibility that cutting edge deep learning techniques like deep photo could accomplish this via style transfer.

Quoted from Lermods:

Sorry if this was answered already, but are there real actor callouts in the game?

I was really hoping they would bring back DESW C3PO. That voice always makes me happy. Him and J-Bone have to be my 2 favourite bad pinball sound-a-likes.

Quoted from flashinstinct:

Wondering if Stern is going to surprise us and have code heavily done for launch?

That would surprise you? Because Dwight has a history of launching such incomplete code?

Quoted from PanzerFreak:

Yeah... It's a mini standup target to "hit" the tie fighter. Very basic. If that's the main toy on the pro then just wow. Has to be as there isn't anything else.

To me the main toys are 2 flippers, at least one pinball, and a hell of a lot of great smooth shots. It is one thing I love about this hobby, there are many ways to enjoy it.

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Tell me the other steve ritchie games with playfield magnets that randomly throw the ball around the playfield ala the power or ghostbusters.

Slugfest. Now where is my prize.

Come to think of it, that is not really pinball. And it more curves the ball than throws it around. Oh and it was Mark. Never mind.

Quoted from chuckwurt:

That combined with the lickbar button being used a lot more, could be very very different experience in a good way.

Lickbar! I have been doing it wrong

Quoted from DeadFlip:

Soon™
I'll have a date to announce, and try to drum up a Han Solo costume last minute.

I am really hoping Stern's rookie designer will show up for a game.

I know Disney would never approve, but I would love to see an "I've got the money" hurry up. If you make the shot, you see the proper clip of Han shooting first, and if you miss you see Greedo shooting first.

Quoted from Rob_G:

I think the music actually needs some work. Imperial march theme should not be playing during Victory multiball for example, unless it's the empire that won....

There were a few strange music choices, but I thought Victory Multiball was just "The Throne Room/End titles" Since end titles is a collection of all the motifs from the score, it does contain imperial march, but it seems right.

What I felt was most out of place was those brass flourishes. They didn't fit with underlying music at all.
