Quoted from Sinestro:Love Ewoks or hate them, I think we can all agree that the new age song Lucas put over the Ewoks celebration in the SE of Jedi sucks balls.
Give me the "Nub Nub" original song any day!
They both suck.

Quoted from badbilly27:Yeah it's like groundhog day. I wonder if the vicious cycle could be broken with some say GTM planning and a dash of marketing.
Yeah you're right they are doing it all wrong. Star Wars is sure to flop now and will probably get crushed in sales by DI.
Quoted from smassa:Yeah you're right they are doing it all wrong. Star Wars is sure to flop now and will probably get crushed in sales by DI.
Careful, that's "off topic".
When is the stream? I hope they show all 400 HD video clips
Quoted from Sinestro:Give me the "Nub Nub" original song any day!
It's pronounced, "Yub Nub." lol (True, the original one is better)
Star Wars
i am the Ripped Wallpaper.
i am the Dusty Boxes in the attic.
i am the Toys thrown carelessly into the back of the closet.
I am Irrelevant.
i am the Holiday Decorations,
taken out only when needed.
i am the horribly Ugly pants,
worn only when your mother makes you.
i am the Book that you Hate
but are forced to read for a grade.
i am only Relevant when you Choose.
but ripped wallpaper can be Fixed,
dust can be Swept Off
and toys can be Rediscovered.

Quoted from crussomd:Anyone have ideas on what the topper might be?
I would love an AT-AT for the Imperial Premium, with interactive Snowspeeder that spins around the legs of the AT-AT with successful shots to Hoth
Quoted from crussomd:Anyone have ideas on what the topper might be?
Good call! I liked the one for Walking Dead, even more so for Aerosmith.
Hoping this one is a must-have!
Any thoughts on best topper ideas?
Quoted from Aurich:I love ewoks. People just like to be haters. Just means I get more enjoyment out of watching Return of the Jedi than the haters do, so feels like a win to me!
I'm hoping there's an ewok video mode with all the other video modes
Quoted from John1210:I'm hoping there's an ewok video mode with all the other video modes
Holy crap me and John agree on something
Still no date for the deaqdflip stream? - Are you kidding me?
On the other hand: Why should Stern do any marketing NOW (!) when they have allready more orders than they could possibly build in the forseeable future. (And the floors full of cabinets in the factory suggest that.)
Quoted from smassa:Yeah you're right they are doing it all wrong. Star Wars is sure to flop now and will probably get crushed in sales by DI.
Never said it would be a flop, hope it's not, and I'm sure title alone it will be a wild success! Love me my pinball.
But yeah, it's obvious to any marketing or product executive they're doing marketing wrong. Just think of the success outside the pinball community if done right. Good will. Brand loyalty, etc. Having a relationship with customers is always good for business - especially dare I say - if bad times were ever to return OR a significant competitor emerges.
The best time to improve is when you're ahead. So no one ever catches up.
Just to clear some air for those of us who do podcasting and have to pronounce words - it's an AT-AT, not A-T-A-T, but an at at! Ok just playing around carry on
At $7.5k for a full featured premium, or $8.5k for an LE (after buying shaker motor) - I am out of the nib pinball market. I'd always consider pro models too, but $5.5k is more than I'm willing to spend to open a box. It really doesn't matter what the title is either ... I maxed out at: 4.8k / 6.3k / 7.8k. New doesn't mean better, I tell myself. SW will still be exciting to play, and I look forward to it, I just won't be owning one, or any other nib Stern going forward, evidently.

Turn out the lights. The party is over
Quoted from DS_Nadine:Still no date for the deaqdflip stream? - Are you kidding me?
If you watch the recent Dead Flip whirlwind stream, JD mentions that they had a date that was cancelled but it should finally happen in ten day (probably a week now).
I'm in on the game, but the marketing/release has been more exhausting than building anticipation.
I am amazed there is so much ewok love here. I thought they were depised by all but it seems I am a small club of participants. Just don't like them. They are over grown gophers
Now jawas, they are where it's at. Ooteedee!

This is true.
So spoiled.
Announce a game and expect it to ship
Who else does that?

Was anyone else obsessed with Star Wars rogue squadron on N64? That was all I played for like two years.
Quoted from DCFAN:Why not just call them imperial walkers?

I had one when I was a kid and always referred to them as AT AT's is why
Quoted from crlush:Is that Garys penis in bottom left of pic
Hahaha. I literally spent almost an hour looking back to find your post. I didn't even laugh at it at first but for some reason a week later I thought about it and could not stop laughing and had to see it again. Sooooo funny
Quoted from ATLpb:After seeing Keith's hat, I'm financially preparing for it.
Your money is safe. lol
Did someone say Jaws widebody pin?
Richard Dreyfus is still Alive right, i didn't google it?
This will best Stern machine ever, if they have the balls to make it.
Worthy topic for a speculation thread.
Now back to Star Wars.
The Star Wars topper to end all toppers.
Quoted from chuckwurt:Was anyone else obsessed with Star Wars rogue squadron on N64? That was all I played for like two years.
Was obsessed with rouge squadron 2 on the Nintendo game cube. Brilliant game that really captures the different crafts from the Star Wars universe. Wonder how it would hold up today???

Well i know damn well the original on N64 would hold up very well. Great game and very accurate to the movies.

Its the nostalgia of it man. I remember when N64 first came out.....jesus....Turok about made me sick in 3rd person view. Any one play the star wars games on super nes?
Quoted from PinballManiac40:It be $500
This being Star Wars, I think I'll buy three or four toppers at that price. I'll put one on my machine and leave the others in the original packaging. 20 years from now they will be worth thousands!
I showed my boys the Star wars pin trying to drum up some excitement and they barely raised an eyebrow. Battlefront II gets announced and they lost their minds! Now I can make them happy spending less than 100 bucks allowing me to upgrade to the premium!
Quoted from Ericpinballfan:Did someone say Jaws widebody pin?
They would never make a widebody. Too much wood=Too much BOM=Less profit.

Use cheaper wood or cheap out elsewhere?

Im not sure if you are being sarcastic or if you are actually serious. Either way thats just scary

Just charge more. When has that ever been a problem.
Quoted from beelzeboob:They would never make a widebody. Too much wood=Too much BOM=Less profit.
You know, we have plastic compounds cheaper than wood now. Honeycomb polycarbonate.
Stronger than steel when used properly.
Quoted from pinballophobe:Use cheaper wood or cheap out elsewhere?
They've already quietly changed to cheaper cabinet wood. Any lower quality would be paper mache.
My ASLE pf is as solid and the best clear coat of any pin i've ever purchased.
Hopefully they continue that quality with Star Wars. After GB i would think they would.
Quoted from PinMonk:They've already quietly changed to cheaper cabinet wood. Any lower quality would be paper mache.
I'll admit that made me laugh, I do like the new backboxes, didn't think I would be they are great!
