Smaug's fire is no competition to the lasers on the AT-AT.

Quoted from chucksmith:Stern has dropped the Shaker motor as standard on the LE.
This is a disappointing move by Stern. Althought Batman66 LE was pricey at least it included a shaker, side blades, and a really cool topper.
Any rumors on what the Star Wars topper might be?
Quoted from PaulCoff:Any word on stacking modes within the rules? Waiting to understand the rules to pull the trigger on this tittle. Really hoping there will be stackability between modes for "Big Points."
No real info yet. But it looks like 16 modes and GOT like code so, damn the possibilities are huge! Very excited to see how this code unfolds
Just curious. Anyone legitimately concerned about the issues that popped up with Ghostbusters happening here with cabinet separating and playfield issues? Know its a huge title much like that but do you believe Stern has learned from it or we're going to see more of the same?
Signed, prospective buyer but worried.

It wasn't just Ghostbusters, and no, not worried.
That issue is so 2016.
Quoted from mrclean:Who would win in a fight Smaug or an AT-AT ?!
That is the million dollar question
Quoted from chuckwurt:Hit target then it shakes. Like Star Trek.
What the heck? that's not a bash toy. Someone in the Marketing department does not play pinball. They took one look at it and decided... Looks like Slimer, Looks like the crane in BM66 , so its a bash-toy.
Quoted from paul_8788:Does it light up?
No that would be his pee (about 80 proof I'm guessing)
Quoted from pinchamp:Here is the costume.
It's cool, but I'm totally done with pre-orders.

No the playfield issues were a problem, but seem fixed last year. I've got a GB premium, and AS LE. The GB playfield is amazing looking and doing just fine (got it shortly after they corrected problems), the AS playfield is even nicer.
As for cabinets, I haven't seen any problems with my older Star Trek, Tron or the GB or AS.
I think there are always some problems with any assembly line manufactured product, but pinside has a way of blowing up the < 1% of problems into something bigger and there are certain people that say it is all Stern an no-one else. Well, I have a WOZ LE sitting in my lvingroom that has a chunk of clear and paint out of the playfield in front of the drop target. I also have a new playfield sitting here in case I ever care enough to change it out. Most likely I'll just touch it up and put some clear on it and save that playfield.
Didn't see anyone mention it, but looks like July for polishing off overseas shipout, then moving to Pros/LEs, then August for Premiums, so quite a ways out. Plenty of time to wait for a decent video before deciding.

This. It seems pointless to order a premium until a lot of the LEs have been shipped and videos and reviews are plentiful.

What will be the possible sound clips for a tilt?
- Jabba: Hohohoho
- R2: Scream (when hit by a blaster)
- Chewie: Roar
- C3PO: "Goodness gracious me!"
I'm sure there are 100s

If the game is good they'll be making premiums and pros for years. No need to rush.

so many good quotes, wonder if stern will do the homework and find em tho.
another good C3PO one for tilt is "This is madness!"
not sure where it would play in but the "Why you stuck up, half-witted, scruffy looking nerf herder!" Leia quote would be fun to hear. Could be after you tilt.

Its dwight so after potc, got and gb i have total faith in him =)

Can definitely stack shit and with the potential to set up a 40x shot, id say big points are possible.
Or if they got Harrison Ford to change the line of "Laugh it up Fuzzball" to "Knock it off Fuzzball" for a danger
Ball 3 outlane drain.....
I know you are playing as the good guys, but this would still be fun...
Rob
Quoted from Rob_G:I know you are playing as the good guys, but this would still be fun...
I was thinking the other day that it would have been really cool if one of the charters could that we had the option to play would be a bad guy like Darth Vader or Boba Fett. I get it though that would have meant a ton of extra coding for empires perspective. I always enjoyed playing the empire in the Battlefront games and even going back to the old PC Tie Fighter games.
When the ball drains:
C3PO: “Sir, the possibility of successfully avoiding the drain is approximately 3,720 to 1.”
Han: “Never tell me the odds!”
When you set a high score:
Darth Vader: “Impressive. Most impressive.”
Quoted from CrazyLevi:I don't think you can see clearly because you've insisted in three straight posts that this game has a bash toy when it doesn't.
Stern calls it a bash toy in the feature matrix.
Checking out Battlefront 2 and have to say having all the movies and era to choose from does make it very cool. Too bad Stern didn't go that route.
Quoted from Colsond3:That being said, I don't think SW will hold a candle to SF2.
Agreed! SF2 is the way better license.

-Lucas: "I'm really sorry about the special editions"
I never said anything about Sterns marketing because I actually think it's quite good in tearms of reaching out to wider audiences (mentioned on the Star Wars Show for time-exclusive footage and others). Pinside doesn't have god given right to get to learn everything in an instant, all the ruckus will eventually be forgotten anyway when the game hits and that way of marketing is absolutely normal for other products.... like videogames for instance.
BUT at the moment we're left with... nothing at all. It's ok to wait but at least tell us when you'll feed us the next snippet of info. Another Video of the factory, with the games in production or the date for the Dead Flip video, even if it might still be far off.
.
.
On top of that I don't know how long I have to wait for my machine whereas when i ordered my GB, the second it could be ordered, they allready could tell me a date. (Wich they didn't quite hit, but 2 weeks ain't far off either.)

Ask your dist, Stern should have told them.
In the US, if it's a Pro or LE, July. If it's a Premium, August.
If it's overseas, shipping out in late June/early July, and you'll see them in late July/early Aug.
Quoted from Rasavage:Aren't there two different expo's this weekend? Any reports or footage of gameplay?
A buddy was at NWPAS today, and didn't see Star Wars. Also said he didn't look too much through the Stern area and might have missed it. I'm going tomorrow and will report anything worthwhile (including SR's talk).
A visual comparison.
Consumers can determine the quality and value for the $1 difference MSRP cost of comparison of these two titles.
Star Wars Limited Edition versus Dialed-In Limited Edition.
No other editions are compared, as SWLE is the best of the title to be offered from Stern.
I do not believe a game features matrix is required for proper comparison in this case, regarding features and construction quality.
EDIT:
It is unfortunate that some believe I am slighted towards any present manufacturer, as I impartially judge every game independently and their individual merits at the same level of other publishers which ask my opinions, so validity is relevant.
I am not a "Stern lover", "JJP hater", or whatever other terms are out there in the world.
If a person wants to call me "believer", I remit my preference to Bally Ted Zale "zipper flipper" games from the 1970s which completely destroy every single game offering in terms of build construction quality made today. Notice, I did not say features.
I merely offer a legitimate comparison of two of the newest offered game titles and value for cost.
The difference is significant, and the quality gap is continuing to grow.
Quoted from Rasavage:Aren't there two different expo's this weekend? Any reports or footage of gameplay?
Pretty sure Stern isn't taking it to shows yet.

I'm pretty excited about this pin, but that just seems odd given that we have pretty hard confirmation that delivery will begin next month.

Yeah of course dialed in normal version is only a mere 3k more

I know it seems like it has been forever but the game was just announced. Heck there they haven't even had Jack come in and do a video or let anyone else video it either. So not taking it to shows the first week out doesn't surprise me at all. My guess is they would like to get things a bit more finalized before they release it in the wild at shows, even if that means it ships to customers before it makes it to shows. All they really need to do is get the Gameplay video out for most customers anyway.

Consider the difference a licensing fee for a whopper of a theme...versus something with the girl from the Progressive commercials and a cell phone.
DISCLAIMER: Dialled In is a GREAT game...

U cant even see the 5 magnets, trap door, subway on dile ...among tons of other features. . Regardless im sure both will be great pins to the right person.
Quoted from DerGoetz:If we could swap themes it wouldn't even be a race
I actually perfer a original theme as i know nothing about star wars. I know quite a few others in the same boat. However more choices in pinball are always a plus imo.
Quoted from musketd:Yeah of course dialed in normal version is only a mere 3k more
He compared the stern premiums/le to it tho and they are very similar in price to di standard and le.

Yup, I'd still take SW and pocket the extra $1-$3k, plus have better displays, better theme, sounds, dynamic scoring with multipliers and big jackpots that are displayed and not hidden. I love JJP games but they really gotta work on displaying the dramatic big jackpot shots on the display that stern is so good at doing.
